Hippotherapy's Influence In Static Balance In A Subject With Charcot-marie-tooth Disease [influência Da Hipoterapia No Equilíbrio Estático Em Um Indivíduo Com Doença De Charcot-marie-tooth]
No full textObjective. Verify hippotherapy's influence in static balance in a subject with Charcot-Marie-Tooth (CMT). Method. It was done a study of case, with one subject with Charcot-Marie-Tooth, female gender, 12 years old. The subject was filmed in anterior view (frontal view) and profile (saggital view). The instrument used was Computerized Biophotogrammetry which served as angular reference to verify body's oscillations in the static balance. The hippotherapy was done during 16 sessions, twice a week, for 2 months, using the hippotherapy program and equestrian activities. Results. The oscillations's degrees evaluated after the hippotherapy intervention showed decrease both in frontal and saggital views. Conclusion. Balance In Stroke Patients In The Uniararas Physical Therapy Clinic School [equilíbrio Em Indivíduos Com Acidente Vascular Encefálico: Clínica Escola De Fisioterapia Da Uniararas]
No full textObjective. To describe balance of stroke patients in the UNIA-RARAS Physical Therapy clinic school evaluating the correlation with age and time of lesion. Method. It was an observational study with 22 subjects, both genders, with diagnosis of stroke, ages ranged from 23 to 86 years old. The subjects were submitted to balance evaluation with Berg's Scale of Functional Balance (BSFB), Brazilian version, composed by fourteen tasks. Results. Stroke patients had an average punctuation of 37 points, showing a high risk of falls. There was no significant correlation between the patient's age and time of lesion with BSFB punctuation. Conclusion. Evaluation Of Respiratory Muscle Strength In Stroke Patients [avaliação Da Força Muscular Respiratória Em Indivíduos Acometidos Por Acidente Vascular Cerebral]
No full textObjective. To evaluate respiratory muscle strength in stroke patients. Method. This is a transversal study with 22 stroke patients, 14 with left hemi paresis and 8 with right hemi paresis, both genders, age between 30 and 87 years old. The evaluation of respiratory muscle strength by the measurement of maximal inspiratory (PImax) and expiratory (PEmax) pressures was assessed with manovacuometry. Results. The strength of respiratory muscles in stroke patients was reduced when compared to predicted values described in the literature (p<0.001). Conclusion. Equotherapy Intervention In The Static Balance In A Child With Down Syndrome [intervenção Da Equoterapia No Equilíbrio Estático De Criança Com Síndrome De Down]
No full textObjective. Verify the influence of hippotherapy in the static balance of one child with Down syndrome. Method. It was done a study of case in one child with Down syndrome, male, nine years old. The subject was filmed in anterior (frontal view) and profile (sagittal view) views in these two conditions: with and without vision. During the video takes with the eyes closed, it was used a swimming goggle completely sealed, with the purpose of not allowing the subject to have any visual information. The selected pictures were quantified by Computerized Biophotogrammetry, which served as angular reference to verify body's oscillations in the static balance. It was done 16 hippotherapy sessions, once a week, using equitation techniques and equestrians activities, to provide physical, psychological, educational and social benefits. Results. The degrees of oscillation evaluated before and after the hippotherapy intervention showed lower values in the frontal and sagittal views. Conclusion. The Influence Of Kinesio Taping In The Treatment Of Shoulder's Subluxation At Stroke [a Influência Da Kinesio Taping No Tratamento Da Subluxaç ão De Ombro No Acidente Vascular Cerebral]

To verify the influence of Kinesio Taping technique in the treatment of subluxation shoulder in patients with stroke and consequent improvements in postural symmetry and reduction of compensation. Method. Three patients with under shoulder subluxation were participating of the study. They were submitting an initial evaluation through Biophotogrammetry for measure the subluxation, postural symmetry and the movements of the shoulder. These subjects received application of the Kinesio taping in the deltoid muscle. After two months of treatment there was a new evaluation. Results. There was a decrease in the subluxation shoulder in average of 0.93 cm. Improvement of postural symmetry by the decline in the tales angle in average 35.47°. The movement of bending shoulder increased in average 19.83°. The movement of extension increased 5.22° on subject (A). The abduction movement of the shoulder increased in average 11.94° on subjects (A) and (B).The horizontal adduction movement of the shoulder increased 12.86° on subject (C). Conclusion.
