Review of Mayer, R.; Knothe, F.; Shuo, H. (2022) Reflected beauty: Chinese reverse glass paintings from the Mei Lin Collection
In this well-documented, bilingual, and richly illustrated catalogue, published for the long-anticipated exhibition Reflected Beauty: Chinese Reverse Glass Paintings from the Mei Lin Collection at the University Museum and Art Gallery of the University of Hong Kong (September 2021-January 2022), the authors give us a profound insight into the phenomenon of reverse painting on glass and mirror paintings, with a particular focus on those from the Mei Lin Collection assembled by the Sinologist, author, and translator Rupprecht Mayer and his wife Haitang Mayer-Liem. Composed of over one hundred works acquired in East Asia between 1968 and 2012, this is one of the world's most important collections of Chinese reverse glass paintings from the late nineteenth and twentieth centuries.Modern and Contemporary Studie

Commerce application with multiple accessible methods / Yang Mei Lin
The E-Commerce M-Commerce (ECMC) is a B2C application which provides different accesibility for reading materials'marketing within Malaysia by using e-commerce and m-commerce applications. This system can be accessed through Internet, PDA or hand phone. It is divided into both user and administrator module with appropriate access control for different types of users. The e-commerce and m-commerce's history, categories, scope, WAP Technology, client/server architectures and reading material's publishers have been discussed. Furthermore, the analysis of systems has been carried out to identify the strength and weaknesses of each system to develop a better system. The methodology chosen for the project is waterfall model. Besides, the chosen development tools and system requirements are analyzed. The program design, database design, interface design is elaborated to make development process easier and more efficient. Meanwhile, the four phases involved in the implementation stage are database implementation, module implementation, interface implementation and security implementation. The testing strategies involved are unit testing integrated testing and system testing. The top-down approach is adopted for integration testing. In system testing, functional testing, performance testing, acceptance testing and end user evaluation were carried out. System evaluation discusses the problem encountered during the development stage and solutions, strength, limitation, future enhancement of the system. Moreover, knowledge and experience gained are also elaborated in this topic. In short, ECMC project increases the convenience and efficiency of user without being restricted by time and locations as well as minimizes the time needed to perform a transaction
Literacy Transmission for the Tuba Playing Techniques of the Chinese Folk Song "Ga Da Mei Lin"
By exploring the literacy transmission practices to perform Mongolian music on the tuba, this study aims to provide insight into part of the process of adapting a traditional folk song, Ga Da Mei Lin, of China, for tuba performance. It explores the ways Mongolian long-song techniques like breath control, glissando, and rhythmic flexibility are translated through the tuba by situating their study within an ethnomusicological framework that considers the integration of oral tradition and musical literacy. The study underscores the necessity of a dual approach of oral transmission and notation-based formal instruction in conservatory contexts to ensure both cultural authenticity and technical precision in the performance of Ga Da Mei Lin. These findings demonstrate how this hybrid pedagogical model enhances folk music teaching, contributes to the transmission of Mongolian cultural heritage, and facilitates the expressive potential of the tuba in conveying Mongolian folk aesthetics. This research demonstrates the multifaceted, inherent collaboration between folk and contemporary music, adding to both cross-cultural aspects of music education and modern brass performance practice
