To examine indices of behavioural and emotional problems and temperamental traits in clinically referred children and adolescents suffering from tension headache or migraine. Headache in childhood and adolescence (<18 years) has been associated with the presence of behavioural and emotional difficulties, but limited data are available on the relationship between these problems and different types of headache. Clinically referred children and adolescents (N=114), 6-16 years of age, suffering from primary headache according to the diagnostic criteria of the International Headache Society, 47 with tension-type headache (TH) and 67 with migraine (M), and 36 normal controls without headache (NC) were assessed using the Parent Child Behaviour Checklist (CBCL), Children's Depression Inventory (CDI), Multidimensional Anxiety Scale for Children (MASC), Conner's Parent Rating Scale (CPRS), and Emotionality-Activity-Sociability-Shyness Scale (EAS). Psychological and personality self-rating assessments were obtained also on the children's parents and siblings. Although most headache patients had scores within the normative non-pathological range, both TH and M patients had higher CBCL total, internalizing, and externalizing scores than NC (P<0.001), and TH patients had higher scores than M patients. TH and M had higher CDI and MASC scores than NC (P<0.05), with no difference between the headache groups. TH patients had higher Emotionality and Shyness scores, and lower Sociability scores than M patients. Clinically referred children and adolescents with TH and M had higher scores of behavioural and emotional symptoms, both of internalizing and externalizing type, than normal peers. The TH group had greater psychological and temperamental difficulties than the M group

Application of Eurofer97 steels for demo divertor cassette irradiated at temperature below 350 °C

The austenitic stainless steel AISI 316 L(N) IG is used as structural material for the main ITER in-vessel components. When neutron fluences increase, as in DEMO in-vessel components, it is not possible to use AISI 316, which is subject to strong activation due to its high nickel content. Ferritic/martensitic steels with reduced activation properties as Eurofer97 which keep good thermo-mechanical properties and good dimensional stability under irradiation (i.e. resistance to swelling), must be envisaged. The principal objective of the present paper is to address the current status about the mechanical properties of Eurofer97 irradiated at temperature below 350 °C. Based on the collected data, the feasibility of Eurofer97 and Reduced Activation Ferritic/Martensitic (RAFM) steels for structural applications is discussed in case of using water as coolant for divertor cassette. This report at this stage does not account for corrosion-related impacts on RAFMs behavior, which are likely less critical than irradiation embrittlement effects

Bullying Perpetration and Victimization in Early Adolescence: Physiological Response to Social Exclusion

The present study investigated the associations between bullying perpetration and victimization and physiological reactivity to social exclusion. The participants were 28 early adolescents (17 boys and 11 girls; Mage= 11.55; SD = 1.34). Bullying perpetration and victimization were assessed by peer nominations. To elicit social exclusion, participants were first included and then excluded in a laboratory paradigm (Cyberball). Physiological reactivity (i.e., nose tip temperature) was detected through thermal infrared imaging during the computer simulation. Nose temperature variations during inclusion and exclusion were compared between each other. Results showed increasing skin temperature during exclusion, compared to inclusion, for the whole sample, indicating that being excluded affected physiological reactivity. However, victimization was associated with higher skin temperature during exclusion, compared to bullying. The present findings suggest the importance of combining behavioral and contact-free physiological measures when studying bullying perpetration and victimization by peers

From the “opacity” proposed by Martinican writer Édouard Glissant to the “migrant subject” elaborated by Peruvian critic Antonio Cornejo Polar, I will try to explore a fissure in present time caused by a simultaneity that is neither creolized nor acculturated. Migrant subjectivity, it seems, is constructed in a non-transparent mirror where Western and colonial reason cannot be reflected. It is a subjectivity that, according to what I will propose, exposes itself to radical historicization, metamorphosis, and problematization of its own limits. In this study, we will see how fragmentation of the subject is even the norm.
