Get PDFLa presente investigación tiene como base un proyecto enmarcado en el tipo de investigación cualitativa prepositiva, fundamentada con un diseño de fuente mixta (documental y campo). Esta investigación se realizó para determinar la rentabilidad generada por la panificadora de la Universidad Nacional Pedro Ruiz Gallo durante los años 2012 y 2013, con la finalidad de formular propuestas para incrementarla y en un futuro empezar a cubrir la demanda de un nuevo mercado en la ciudad de Lambayeque. Para conocer la situación actual de la panificadora y obtener información exacta y detallada se optó por realizar un balance general de ingresos y egresos de los años 2012 y 2013, que permitió obtener la rentabilidad de ambos años reportando un 10.75% y un 10.52% respectivamente. Se realizó una proyección para determinar como sería el comportamiento de la rentabilidad, durante el año 2014, asumiendo que se contaría con un local en el exterior de la Universidad, el que funcionaria únicamente como punto de venta de parte de los productos elaborados en la panificadora. Estos productos serán los obtenidos por el incremento de la producción que se plantea implementar para el año 2014

No full textKaplan e Norton (Kaplan & Norton, 2008) conceberam o modelo Execution Premium como uma abordagem que integra diversas ferramentas estratégicas e operacionais, garantindo o alinhamento entre a estratégia e as operações dentro das organizações, simultaneamente facilitando a execução estratégica e o planeamento, culminando na excelência operacional ao longo de um processo de seis etapas. O presente trabalho, teve como objetivo descrever as ferramentas de controlo de gestão utilizadas pela Transportes Matos & Filhos, S.A, e proceder a sugestão de implementação de um modelo Execution Premium, tendo em consideração as características da empresa. Para responder à questão de investigação foi adotado o método estudo de caso, concebido com recurso a entrevistas informais, a documentos internos e informação pública. Com a análise efetuada foi possível perceber que não existe uma estratégia formal implementada na empresa. No entanto, já estão em vigor várias ferramentas de controlo de gestão que permitem orientar os comportamentos dos colaboradores. Neste contexto, através da sugestão implementação de um Execution Premium, acreditamos ser possível formalizar um sistema que integre todas as ferramentas estratégicas e operacionais, bem como garantir o alinhamento dos colaboradores da Transportes Matos & Filhos, S.A.Kaplan and Norton (Kaplan & Norton, 2008) conceived the Execution Premium model as an approach that integrates various strategic and operational tools, ensuring alignment between strategy and operations within organizations, while simultaneously facilitating strategic execution and planning, culminating in operational excellence over a six-step process. The present study aimed to describe the management control tools used by Transportes Matos & Filhos, S.A., and to suggest the implementation of an Execution Premium model, considering the characteristics of the company. To address the research question, a case study method was adopted, utilizing informal interviews, internal documents, and public information. Through the analysis conducted, it was possible to perceive that there is no formal strategy implemented in the company. However, several management control tools are already in place, allowing for the guidance of employee behaviors. In this context, through the suggested implementation of an Execution Premium, we believe it is possible to formalize a system that integrates all strategic and operational tools, as well as ensuring alignment of Transportes Matos & Filhos, S.A. employees

Hydraulic-hydrologic model for the Zambezi River using satellite data and artificial intelligence techniques
Get PDFThe development of hydraulic-hydrologic models is a challenge in the case of large catchment areas with scarce or erroneous measurement data and observations. With his study Mr. Dr. José Pedro Matos made several original contributions in order to overcome this challenge. The scientific developments were applied at Zambezi River basin in Africa in the framework of the interdisciplinary African Dams research project (ADAPT). First of all, procedures and selection criteria for satellite data regarding topography, rainfall, land use, soil types and cover had to be developed. With the goal to extend the time scope of the analysis, Dr. Matos introduced a novel Pattern-Oriented Memory (POM) historical rainfall interpolation methodology. When POM interpolated rainfall is applied to hydrologic models it effectively opens up new possibilities related to extended calibration and the simulation of historical events, which would otherwise be difficult to exploit. A new scheme for rainfall aggregation was proposed, based on hydraulic considerations and easily implemented resorting to remote sensing data, which was able to enhance forecasting results. Dr. Matos used machine-learning models in an innovative way for discharge forecast. He compared the alternative models (e.g. Autoregressive Moving-Average (ARMA), Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) and Support-Vector Regression (SVR)). Dr. Matos made then significant contributions to the enhancement of rainfall aggregation techniques and the study of limitations inherent to SVR forecasting model. He proposed also a novel method for developing empirical forecast probability distributions. Finally Dr. Matos could successfully calibrate, probably for the first time, a daily hydrological model covering the whole Zambezi River basin (ZRB).PL-LC
