Buscando resolver el problema de la ambigüedad y contradicciones de la misma, propone la hipótesis de que a Miguel Sabuco correspondería la parte fisiológica y psicosomática, mientras que Oliva Sabuco habría dotado a ésta de una arquitectura filosófica española renacentista, socrática cristiana, erasmista y neoestoica.Abstract:The current article again arises the issue of the authorship of the New Philosophy of Man’s Nature in a novel way: from the content of the play. Piden favor real a la corona española por los sacrificios que han hecho en la expedición y en las misiones. La carta detalla el numero de soldados y el racionamiento de alimentos, ropa y otros artículos básicos que tuvieron que hacer en cada misión para sobrevivir en los últimos cinco años. Los autores afirman ser representadores de los soldados de la compañía franca de voluntarios de Cataluña. —— Account of Sergeant Juan Ruiz and Corporal Miguel Pericas on the dire state of the soldiers in California's missions and services rendered in the San Carlos de Monterrey expedition under the command of Lieutenant Pedro Fages. Tactility and Opticality in Contemporary Abstract Painting
No full textThe thesis analyses the construction of surface in contemporary abstract painting and its broader implications, mainly in regard to Clement Greenberg´s understanding of modernist painting. It considers how this issue was contended between art critics such as Greenberg and Michael Fried and artists that challenged the formalist account of painting´s medium specificity through a wide range of procedures and techniques. I review Thierry de Duve´s analysis of Robert Ryman´s work in regard to Greenberg´s understanding of modernist painting and discuss the ways in which the contest between painting and photography (since photography made painting reproducible) is central.
The analysis of Ryman´s work leads to a consideration of Duchamp´s readymade and its significance to painting. Painting´s resistance to being annexed by photography follows de Duve´s contention in regard to painting-photography competitiveness where he argues that opposition to photographic reproducibility has been critical for painting since the invention of photography. At this point the historical significance of Duchamp´s readymade is regarded as a repetition of the invention of photography within the domain of painting.
The assertion is then that the key to contemporary abstract painting – what supports its attraction – is the manner in which the construction of surface is made through the reformulation of pictorial practices that were developed from the 1960s – such as Informel – and continue to be elaborated in a contemporary context in the works of artists like Katharina Grosse or Sergej Jensen. By considering Informel as a manifestation of a painting-photography contest I argue for its value in contemporary abstract painting as a means to further develop abstract painting´s potentiality, as Katharina Grosse and Sergej Jensen do through their engagement with architectural space

La autoadaptación: el caso de Miguel Delibes
No full textEste estudio está dedicado a tres novelas del escritor Miguel Delibes, cuya particularidad es haber sido adaptadas al teatro por el propio autor. El objetivo consiste en analizar comparativamente las adaptaciones teatrales de la trilogía de Delibes para demostrar la teatralidad implícita de los originales que justifica el éxito y las reposiciones de las correspondientes versiones. Por otra parte, es necesario reflejar el caso inusual de este escritor que reescribió sus novelas para la escena solo o junto a algunos colaboradores. 0 This study is dedicated to three novels by the writer Miguel Delibes, whose particularity is to have been adapted to the theater by the author himself. The objective is to analyze comparatively the theatrical adaptations of the trilogy of Delibes to demonstrate the implicit theatricality of the originals that justifies the success and the repositions of the corresponding versions. On the other hand, it is necessary to reflect the unusual case of this writer who rewrote his novels for the scene alone or together with some collaborators.</jats:p
Huellas del joven Martínez Ruiz en el Azorín adulto: sobre el sistema ecléctico de la tetralogía crítica (1912-1915)
No full textEn este artículo se salvará la aparente distancia que separa al joven José Martínez Ruiz (1873-1967), simpatizante del anarquismo, del Azorín conservador en que se convirtió en su madurez. Para ello se presentará su tetralogía crítica, formada por "Lecturas españolas" (1912), "Clásicos y modernos" (1913), "Los valores literarios" (1914) y "Al margen de los clásicos" (1915), como el resultado de un anhelo juvenil por construir una historia de la literatura española. Se realizará un cotejo entre estas cuatro obras y el libro "La evolución de la crítica", de 1899, con el objetivo de determinar qué influencia tuvieron las diversas escuelas teóricas examinadas en este opúsculo en su crítica literaria de madurez. De este análisis se concluirá que es posible apreciar una continuidad entre las metodologías críticas analizadas en "La evolución de la crítica" y las practicadas por el Azorín adulto. Asimismo, se propondrá que su labor crítica de madurez se sostiene sobre un sistema amplio y ecléctico heredado de estas teorías con las que se familiarizó en su juventud.This article expects to overcome the apparent distance noticed between the young José Martínez Ruiz (1873-1967), sympathizer of the anarchism, to the conservative author that later became known as Azorín. This way, his critical tetralogy (formed by Lecturas españolas, 1912, Clásicos y modernos, 1913, Los valores literarios, 1914, and Al margen de los clásicos, 1915) will be presented as a result of a young desire of writing a history of the Spanish literature. After this, the influence of his 1899 work La evolución de la crítica in the books mentioned above will be analyzed. In addition, it will be concluded that it is possible to appreciate continuity between the critical methodologies that Martínez Ruiz analyzed in La evolución de la crítica and those which he displayed to write his critical tetralogy.
