Moral values, the results obtained are the discovery of elements of individual moral values (rules that regulate the definition of good or bad human actions between the hopes and goals of human life) 1 quote (1.4%), social moral values(actions that have a direct impact on the lives of people fellow humans) 12 quotes (57.6%), and religious moral values (human attitudes regarding obedience to God's commands and remembering God directly) 2 quotes (3.87%)
Debt dynamic, debt dispersion and corporate governance
PurposeThis paper addresses the following questions: Why do some firms employ multiple debt types? What explains debt heterogeneity? Is the choice of the source of debt a function of corporate governance?Design/methodology/approachThe author's paper is empirical and uses multiple regression analysis.FindingsFirms under weak corporate governance have a higher propensity to use multiple debt types and have a dispersed debt structure. Contrastingly, firms that are well-managed tend to concentrate debt and borrow predominantly from a few creditors. The author also found that while bank debt is negatively associated with debt concentration, market debt is positively associated with debt concentration.Research limitations/implicationsFirms under weak corporate governance have a higher propensity to use multiple debt types and have a dispersed debt structure. Well-managed firms tend to concentrate debt and borrow predominantly from a few creditors. Bank debt is negatively associated with debt concentration and market debt is positively associated with debt concentration.Practical implicationsPolicymakers and practitioners need to account not only for changes in the firm’s total debt level but also for changes within the firm’s debt composition. Understanding a manager’s choice of debt structure can incentivize creditors to effectively monitor and use debt concentration as a form of commitment device that transfers some control rights from the manager to creditors.Originality/valueWhile a vast body of corporate finance literature examines the conflict between shareholders and management, there is little empirical work on the conflict between creditors and management. In this paper, the author examines how managerial entrenchment affects debt structure. The results provide a comprehensive picture of how corporate governance influences debt choice(s).</jats:sec

Internet technologies relevant to private investigators’ working practices
Much has been written and discussed especially in the various US media and in legislative organs, about how the Internet is used illegally (hacking, stalking for instance), but hardly if any research has been done as to how the investigative industry employs the new medium to its benefit. The author described in this thesis how private investigators (PIs) execute their profession these days using the facilities the Internet avail them in contrast to the time before the dawn of the Internet. This contrast is also investigated in an international context, an important part of the thesis, drawn from the author's 32 years of international business experience and that of PIs worldwide. The availability of the various online facilities in different countries are compared. To better understand the new medium, and its facilities a short outline of the Internet’s history, it’s set up in general and for the use of PIs in particular is supplied. PIs also face limitations in their daily work, limitations originating from online, legal, educational, financial and international causes. The new medium not only helps PIs in their investigative, but also in their office work. Finally PIs' wishes for new tools to facilitate their daily investigative work and their outlook as to where the new medium will head are also discussed
Achieving High Optical Absorption in Thin Film Photovoltaic Devices via Nanopillar Arrays and Metal Nanoparticles
In this study, crystalline silicon nanopillars has been employed as a hexagonal array photonic crystal structure with low optical reflection, augmented by silver metallic nanoparticles ranging from 10 to 50 nm in diameter in order to achieve high absorption in thin silicon films, a critical factor for applications in photovoltaic devices. Initially, it has been begun with an optimized structure in terms of pillar filling ratio, pillar height, and diameter, as established in the previous study. This allows to obtain a hexagonal array of nanopillars with a surface characterized by low optical reflection. To enhance the optical absorption within the bulk of the silicon thin film, the optical scattering properties of silver (Ag) metallic nanoparticles (MNPs) has been harnessed. The integration of silver metal nanoparticles into the photonic crystal hexagonal nanopillar array involved introducing a cavity into the silicon pillar. Placing Ag MNPs near the bottom of the cavity prevented the degradation of the photonic crystal's ability to maintain low reflection within the desired optical spectrum (between 400-1100 nm). Comparison between the nanopillar hexagonal array structure with Ag MNPs and the bare silicon substrate revealed a remarkable 104.76 percent increase in optical absorption for a 1-micron thick silicon bulk material. This triple hybrid structure exhibits tremendous potential in photovoltaic device applications, including solar cells and photodetectors, with the capacity to significantly enhance conversion efficiency.TUBITAK ARDEB 1001 [219M280]; TUBITAK ARDEB 1001 project; Abdullah Gul University (AGU)This study was supported by the TUBITAK ARDEB 1001 project (No. 219M280) and computing resources were provided by Abdullah Gul University (AGU).
In Austria, voluntary work and high personal dedication is characteristic for many regional development projects. These volunteers pro-actively interact with their surroundings in order to master the challenges of their time. This master thesis focuses on their commitment and lays out the benefits of their experienced social inter-relations. It provides an insight into the first social festival “Tu was, dann tut sich was” in Lungau (Salzburg) and into the co-operation between the Tu was project participants. This work covers questions regarding the joys and motivations that were important for carrying through the common project and which social characteristics were learned, but also which inter-relational barriers had to be overcome and how these were solved. The data was submitted by the method World Café which was applied within the workshop “Tu was: Nach gefragt” with project members as participants. The factors obtained were allocated to the research of the thesis. The conclusion demonstrates which personal benefits the participants drew from their participation in the social (regional development-) festival. The thesis describes the social festival “Tu was, dann tut sich was” and the Lungau region. In addition, it gives a detailed insight into the World café inquiry’s method and into the concept and the execution of the workshop „Tu was: Nach-gefragt“. Finally the author reflects on how a similar future project could be purposefully supported, so that the project participants could reinforce their social competences to complete such a project.eingereicht von Armin KolbeWien, Univ. für Bodenkultur, Masterarb., 2015Zsfassung in engl. Examining the relationship between student teachers' self-efficacy beliefs and their intended uses of technology for teaching: a structural equation modelling approach
This study examines the relationship between computer self-efficacy and intended uses of technology of student teachers (N=1094) at a teacher training institute in Singapore. Self-efficacy was assessed by three factors: Basic Teaching Skills (BTS), Advanced Teaching Skills (ATS), and Technology for Pedagogy (TP), and intended use of technology was measured by two factors: Traditional Use of Technology (TUT) and Constructivist Use of Technology (CUT). Participants responded to a 7-point Likert-type scale for each factor. Analysis was conducted using the structural equation modelling approach and a good model fit was found for both the measurement and structural models. Results showed that significant relationships exist among BTS, TP, TUT, and CUT. However, ATS did not influence TUT and CUT in a significant way. Overall, the results of this study offer some evidence that student teachers' self-efficacy is a significant influence on whether they use technology in a traditionalist or constructivist way.
