One of the issues to be resolved in implementation of the knowledge management concept is development of new knowledge. Therefore the objective of this project is to show how group discussion activity could contribute towards the making of new knowledge based on an identified problem domain: Identification of Factors in Determining the Number of New Student Intake to Faculty of Science Computer and Computer System, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. This project will use the Delphi technique approach adapted with Nonaka model. It is based on selected procedure modification in the technique with four main process cycles in knowledge making i.e., socialization, externalization, combination and internalization. This study will demonstrate a system developmental design approach which is object oriented using unified modelling language (UML) in order to further strengthen the adaptation of Delphi technique in development of new knowledge. E-learning utilization among Nigerian polytechnics students

It is a modern creation in education, which emphasises learner’s oriented and lifelong teaching learning procedures. Despite the enormous importance of e-learning to educational development, it is worrisome that most institutions of higher learning especially in the developing countries have failed to embrace its effective utilization among their students. There are series of studies on E-learning utilization in Nigerian Higher institution with little or none on e-learning utilization among Nigerian Public Polytechnics students in the North Western part of Nigeria. Therefore, this study identified factors affecting effective utilization of e-learning among students of Nigerian Polytechnics in the North Western part of Nigeria. Questionnaires was used to elicit information from the respondents. Findings reveals that elearning is not being utilize by the students and also identified anxiety, culture, motivation, technology and attitude as factors influencing e-learning utilization among Nigerian Polytechnic students. It was recommended that Lecturers should encourage and guide student on the use of computer for learning purpose
COVID-19: What are the challenges of online learning? A literature review
No full textThe COVID-19 pandemic has made countries and organizations around the world to revise their business operations. Some countries took a step further by executing Movement Control Order (MCO) to reduce the spread. During MCO like Malaysia, all non-essential businesses were closed, interstate travel was prohibited, and purchasing of daily needs were limited. This pandemic had rendered Malaysian homebound. The majority of students who are still staying in hostels were not allowed to return home. To prevent direct contact, face-to-face classes were not possible to conduct. Alternatively, online learning was implemented for teaching and learning purposes for safety reasons. Sadly, most were not prepared for online learning due to the unexpected abruptness of COVID-19. Many issues were raised but little guidelines were available to be followed. Therefore, this paper aimed to identify the challenges of online learning, i.e institutional readiness, students’ difficulties, and teachers’ dilemma. Findings would assist organizations to adopt necessary actions for better education. This study was conducted by reviewing previous and recent literature from several journals, conferences, and news focusing on tertiary education. In addition, the study has proposed that organization should adopt the ADKAR framework introduced by Hiatt for transformation and change towards better online transition. The use of Learning Management System (LMS), infrastructure improvements, teaching methods and parents involvement were also crucial factors for online education success
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. No full textWe have done our best to complete the author checklist relating to the use of animals in the hut study. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
