No full textThis black and white photograph features Halstead in 1976. The image depicts the casual photo of Frank & Mary Kessler. Mary is wearing a nurse\u27s uniform that was originally worn by students of Halstead Training School, Halstead, KS., in the 1920s. Note with picture: This uniform (the original) worn by students of Halstead Training School, Halstead, Kansas. We had a two and half year training school. Entered training January 10, 1922. Graduated May 18, 1925. State Board May 27, 1925. Registered Nurse #3046. Also Red Cross Nurse #45823. This uniform was modeled at the 6th District Bi-centennial in Wichita, Kansas, May 12, 1976 which was held at Century Two, with about 900 present. This was the oldest original uniform, and I was given a lovely China slipper, made by one of the Sisters of St. Joseph, as a prize. On July 31, 1976, it was in a window display of Bi-centennial of Halstead School of Nursing Alumni at the 79th Old Settlers picnic. (Mrs. J. B.) No full textScientific collaboration is necessary as research grows increasingly more complex. Research focusing on the Science of Team Science (SciTS) seeks to better understand and facilitate collaborative research in science. The current work provides new empirical understandings on epistemic beliefs about group knowledge or how a group collectively comes to know something through the development of the Epistemic Beliefs about the Co-Construction of Knowledge (EB-CCK) inventory. Using exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses, the present study established an 18-item inventory composed of two factors: one capturing a more collaborative mindset and one capturing a more individual mindset about the co-construction of knowledge. Mary—The Jewish Mother
No full text Christians have re-awoken to the Jewishness of Jesus and rediscovered a respect for Judaism. Is it not time to reconsider Mary, in Jewish terms? Mary was an observant Jewish woman and she even carried on worshipping at the Temple in Jerusalem after the Christ Event. Although on the cusp of the divide between Judaism and Christianity, within a few centuries the Church was playing down her Jewishness and soon applied anti-Jewish teaching. By the early Middle Ages, Jews had responded with their own polemic, notably against the belief that Christ was born of a virgin. The Jewish rejection of the Virgin Birth resulted in a view of Jews as particular enemies of Mary, an understanding which was explored in medieval art and miracle tales. Today Catholics and Jews can redeem this antiquated understanding of Mary by portraying her positively—as a first-century Jewish mother. </jats:p
