No full textThe period between the 8th and the 11th century - as well as it happened in other countries in the Mediterranean world - is known as “Dark Age”. Historical events and archaeological evidence are quite unknown, because the absence of important dates, as the African ceramic, that stopped after the end of the 7th century. These are the main reasons of the birth of local literature, that gives to Islamic people the responsibility of the transformation of the settlements, artistic and material life in this period. This paper follows the evolution of this literature and the aspects of the problem, chosen as the main points of the Conference “700-1100”
