    Optimization of Privacy Management for Edho Zell Impression Intensity Improvement

    This article explores Edho Zell’s, a celegram’s privacy management in determining how deep his Instagram’s impressions toward his followers. The videos he uploaded on YouTube depicted his past experiences when he wanted to commit suicide. It was assumed that these should have an effect on the formation of the impression Edho Zell built in a certain period of time. This study employed an explanatory research survey method from a quantitative approach, with the criteria of privacy boundary rules from communication privacy management as the basis for independent variables. Based on the results of data collection through the distribution of questionnaires, it was found that videos containing Edho Zell's personal information had an effect on the formation of his self-image by 45%. It is hoped that through the results of this study, everyone who is categorized as an active social media user can understand how to manage privacy boundaries in terms of forming an impression

    Mediamorphosis of Radio Broadcasting on a Drive-in Concert Event during Pandemic Era

    Radio listeners in Indonesia amounted to 11.1 million in 2019, which is the highest number in the last 4 (four) years. Radio is one of the broadcasting communication media that is still very effective for entertainment purposes, accurate information, news, advertising, and also educational purposes. Intensified by the existence of radio streaming applications, there has been the development of loyal listeners due to its easier access. The fact that  radio broadcasting media is still popular for advertising purposes, PT. Berlian Entertainment then decided to cooperate with Mahaka Radio Integra in marketing and conducting a drive-in concert event. This study aims to analyze the role of Mahaka Radio Integra Broadcasting in marketing and organizing a drive-in concert named after “Danamon New Life Experience”. The paradigm in this study is a constructivist paradigm with sociocultural traditions and qualitative approaches. The method used in compiling this study is Gamson and Modigliani’s Framing Analysis with research theory based on Marshall McLuhan’s Technological Determinism. From various news headlines displayed by online media such as Beritasatu, Kompas.com, JakartaPost, and Tribunews, it can be concluded that the drive-in concert event is the first event which applied health protocols while watching behind the wheel of the car, and enjoying the music. The convergence between online and offline media is one of the innovations for this drive-in concert itself, and this convergence is part of Mediamorphosis. Music lovers who miss watching musical concerts because of the pandemic can enjoy the concert by utilizing the online FM radio signal presented in their cars and can also see the live performance of the musicians behind their wheels.Keywords: Radio broadcasting role, drive-in concert event, convergence, framing analysis, technological determinism, mediamorphosis ABSTRAKJumlah pendengar radio di Indonesia mencapai 11,1 juta pada tahun 2019, yang merupakan jumlah tertinggi dalam 4 (empat) tahun terakhir. Radio merupakan salah satu media komunikasi penyiaran yang masih sangat efektif untuk tujuan hiburan, mendengarkan informasi akurat, berita, iklan dan juga tujuan pendidikan. Ditambah lagi dengan adanya aplikasi streaming radio yang memudahkan pendengar setia untuk terus mengikuti siarannya. Efektivitas periklanan dengan menggunakan media penyiaran radio dilihat oleh PT. Berlian Entertainment yang kemudian memutuskan untuk bekerjasama dengan Mahaka Radio Integra dalam memasarkan Event Drive-in concert yang akan diadakan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran broadcasting Mahaka Radio Integra dalam memasarkan Event Drive-in concert yang diselenggarakan oleh PT. Berlian Entertainment dalam “Danamon New Life Experience”. Paradigma dalam penelitian ini adalah paradigma konstruktivis dengan tradisi sosiokultural dan pendekatan kualitatif. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Analisis Framing Gamson dan Modigliani dengan teori penelitian berdasarkan Technological Determinism Marshall McLuhan. Dari berbagai headline berita yang ditampilkan oleh media online seperti Beritasatu, Kompas.com, JakartaPost, dan Tribunews dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemberitaan yang diberikan mengenai acara konser drive-in ini merupakan acara pertama yang dilakukan Berlian Entertainment bersama Mahaka Radio Integra dengan menerapkan protokol kesehatan, menonton di belakang kemudi, dan suguhan musik. Konvergensi antara media daring dan luring menjadi salah satu inovasi bagi drive-in concert ini sendiri, dan hal ini menjadi salah satu bagian dari Mediamorfosis.     Analisis Perbedaan Kepuasan Pembaca Tabloid Gratis Surabaya Shopping Media dan Iklan Pos di Surabaya

    The underlying motive for someone to read is an attempt to obtain gratification through the media. According to Denis McQuail, there are four typology motives that are used, namely: motive of information (surveillance), motive of personal identity, patterns of integration and social interaction (personal relationship), and entertainment motive (diversion). This study is based on the uses and gratifications theory by analyzing the motives through pre-test questionnaire as an instrument of gratification sought, then post-test questionnaire to determine the real satisfaction (gratification obtained) towards 100 respondents who are included. Quantitative method is used to prove the hypothesis of the study, in which the McNemar test on nominal data for the same population assesses two different objects show the existence of the gap (discrepancy) between the motives with the satisfaction of the reader. This research does not stop until the analysis of the gap between motives and reader satisfaction, but further study to see comparative advertising in the free tabloids "Surabaya Shopping Media" and "Iklan Pos". Two free tabloids can be juxtaposed in a comparison study, due to the same general specifications owned by both. On the other hand, the difference of these two free tabloids are: representing two different company backgrounds in their establishments (company profile), the ideology of the company, product display, advertiser segmentation, tagline and iconic products. The accumulated data at a sub variable level shows that motive variables and satisfaction with free tabloid “Surabaya Shopping Media” and “Iklan Pos” in this study are defined as an interval scale data, then tested using two sample paired difference test for interval scale data using the short method for t test

    Bangsa Indonesia dikenal oleh karena kebhinnekaannya, namun seketika terjadi suatu polemik yangdisebabkan oleh cepatnya penyebaran informasi serta konstruksi sosial media Instagram terhadap realitas.Informasi yang diberikan cenderung menjadi bias akibat perdebatan para netizen yang dapat berdampakpada masyarakat hanya dengan hitungan detik. Salah satu akun Instagram @Infia_fact mengunggahsebuah informasi tentang patung Dewa Kwan Sing Tee Koen di Kota Tuban Jawa Timur. Akun inidibanjiri dengan lebih dari 4000 komentar netizen baik yang berpresenden negatif maupun positif,sementara akun tersebut mengunggah berita tanpa adanya tendensi apapun, murni berupa fakta.     Studies on the identity are being learned widely, mostly focus on specific groups. The reality we face today is shows the different conditions, because Indonesia has Pancasila as the state philosophy that clearly asserts the motto of "Bhinneka Tunggal Ika". Actually, the spirit that brought ethnic diversity want to be placed in a proper understanding in order to avoid inter-ethnic conflict. The thought has not been led to reform the nation's cultural identity because the implementation is still far from reality. Eddie Lembong (2013) created the „Cross Culture Fertilization‟ concept or „The Cross-fertilization of Culture‟ idea of Paul Monroe (1928), while the form of the pollination contemplated in the process of cross-cultural thinking involves human interaction with a particular context. It needs to be enhanced by adopting the Rosenau‟s idea (2004) about the cultural hybridity in which the establishment of a culture based on the complexity of the dimensions of a person's life.     Prospek bisnis yang menjadikan tempat bercengkrama dengan konsep convenience store menjadi semakin cerah bagi para pebisnis dewasa ini. Salah satu merek dari convenience store yang sedang marak di Indonesia adalah Lawson‟s Station. Konsep praktis serta tempat yang nyaman disuguhkan untuk segmen pasar para remaja, sesuai dengan tagline yang diusung “One Stop for Your Quality Time”. Lawson‟s Station yang membuka cabangnya di Universitas Bunda Mulia (UBM) Jakarta pada akhir tahun 2011, kemudian mendapat respons yang baik dari seluruh civitas akademika UBM. Hal ini terlihat dari banyaknya pelanggan yang datang berkunjung setiap harinya. Oleh karena itu, peneliti ingin mengetahui citra merek Lawson‟s Station Lodan dari enam komponen brand image. \ud Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif, dimana pengumpulan data primer diperoleh melalui kuesioner menggunakan data skala interval, kemudian ditunjang data sekunder dari obeservasi, dokumentasi, serta literatur pendukung.     The mass media is a tool for each nation to introduce the history of its journey from time to time, one of the most effective-recorded trace is the national film. In some national film scene, we can reflect the construction process of identity which are displayed visually as well as non-verbal communication and verbally reworded. In addition, through the struggle of discourse which appear on a movie, it will be also implied political and social repression (Sen, 1994: 46-49) which is being background or even directing storyline of particular film. Two (2) national film which can describe it, among other things: "Mei Lan, Aku Cinta Padamu" resulted by the Director Pitrajaya Burnama since 1974 and "Puteri Giok" which was launched by Maman Firmansjah in 1980. The uniqueness of those films lies in the two screenplay was written by the same person namely: Deddy Armand. Inevitably theme which were raised is the spirit of assimilation of Chinese Indonesian and non-Chinese Indonesian but striking differences lies in the emergence of various attributes as a form of government propaganda as well as the end of the film. Liem Mei Lan was told died in the birthing room due to elope together Aminudin as her lover, while Han Giok Nio successfully sanctioned affair with Herman. Both films were analyzed through discourse historical analysis or known as Discourse Historical Approach (DHA) by Ruth Wodak with a qualitative approach in the critical paradigm.     Integrity Identification in Ethnographic by Biopic of Kwee Tjie Hoei

    This research will specifically trace the communication made by Kwee Tjie Hoei (A Hoei) or Karmaka Surjaudjaja which is manifest in the national film titled with "Love and Faith" which was released in 2015. This film is packed in the form of a romantic drama genre that tells the Biopic of A Hoei when building the business empire of PT OCBC NISP which at that time was in a crisis. The researcher is based on Communication Theory of Identity which was triggered by Michael Hecth and Aristotle's Rhetoric to probe the message conveyed in the film. The research paradigm is based on constructivism, while the method used in this research is Hymess Ethnographic of Speaking with eight components by the acronym of S-P-E-A-K-I-N-G and this type of research is descriptive with a qualitative approach. The unit of analysis used in the research was scenes in the film, so the researcher was able to identify Kwee Tjie Hoeis integrity which was shown in several stages of identity. The results showed that dominated the implicit message in the form of the integrity of Kwee Tjie Hoei's figure, in line with the principle of rhetoric that rests on the level of public communication

    ABSTRACTSocial equality among human beings is the ideal condition that has been initiated by philosophers such as Hegel and Mead, but Axel Honneth offers a different perspective on both implementation levels and a more holistic perspective. One of the thoughts related to the acquisition of Honneth's recognition through his postulate, has illustrated that there is a struggle on the basis of awareness of respect and recognition of cultural identity in the realm of multiculturalism. In the struggle there are several steps that must be passed to obtain mutual recognition of the particular identity, where the working principle starts from the affective level of love, then the cognitive is in the realm of the legal order, until the intellectual intuition is poured in the form of solidarity. These three become forms of reciprocal relationships that lead to the acquisition of recognition in several stages in every phase of society's development. This is in line with the struggle of the Chinese Association of China (INTI) which is always at the forefront of diffusing the implementation of multiculturalism to the wider community. Recognition of the equal rights and obligations of citizens is an essential human role, as well as the ethnic Chinese Indonesian community that has become an integral and fundamental part of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI). Hal ini sejalan dengan perjuangan Perhimpunan Indonesia Tionghoa (INTI) yang senantiasa berada di garis terdepan mendifusikan implementasi dari multikulturalisme pada masyarakat luas. Pengakuan akan kesetaraan hak dan kewajiban warga negara merupakan sesuatu peranan manusia yang sifatnya hakiki, demikian pula masyarakat etnis Tionghoa Indonesia yang telah menjadi bagian integral serta fundamental dari Negara Kesatuan Republik Indonesia (NKRI).
