Associazionismo etnico e carriere professionali: alcune differenze tra generazioni
No full textL’articolo analizza il tipo di legame che può costituirsi tra impegno in associa-zioni etniche e costruzione di una carriera professionale, sulla base di una ricerca più ampia condotta con tecniche qualitative. Sono comparati i percorsi di immi-grati di prima generazione e di giovani di origine straniera cresciuti in Italia, e vengono analizzate le differenze osservabili tra questi due gruppi. Il contributo descrive tre tipi di relazione che si instaurano tra impegno nell’associazionismo e carriera professionale: una completa corrispondenza, osservata in special modo nel caso delle prime generazioni, laddove l’impegno professionale si svolge all’interno di un’associazione creata dagli stessi immigrati; un legame di suppor-to, in cui le reti associative sostengono la carriera intrapresa – soprattutto nel caso di attività in proprio; l’estraneità, quando non vi è una relazione osservabile tra percorso professionale e associazionismo
«We Are Alone»: Intergenerational Religious Transmission and the Effect of Migration in Italy
Get PDFAlthough research shows a general decrease in religiosity in Western societies, religious transmission still seems to be a poorly studied phenomenon, especially in Italy. We do not know much about the dynamics of socialisation that take place in the family and the main factors that determine the success or failure of religious transmission from one generation to the next. Yet, the family context represents the first agency of socialisation to religion, from an early age, through experiences with parents, grandparents and relatives. On the other hand, in the age of religious diversification, the migration factor is becoming increasingly crucial for national religious landscapes. Nevertheless, religious transmission in foreign families and the impact of migration on family religiosity are still little studied. This contribution presents some research perspectives that have emerged from a wide-ranging survey, still in progress, on intergenerational transmission of religion in Catholic, Muslim and Orthodox families in Italy
La valorizzazione del capitale umano tra i discendenti degli immigrati. Implicazioni per il servizio sociale a partire da una ricerca empirica
No full textA fronte di un esponenziale aumento della diversità nei contesti attuali, Italia compresa, i mercati del lavoro sono oggi sempre più complessi ed eterogenei. Eppure persistono forti diseguaglianze nell’accesso a percorsi professionali altamente qualificati, con livelli di segregazione occupazionale che non accennano a diminuire, soprattutto per le popolazioni di origine straniera. Diviene allora cruciale riflettere su quegli elementi in grado di incidere sulla costruzione di capitale umano e culturale, aprendo a processi di valorizzazione delle competenze così acquisite. A partire da una ricerca qualitativa che indaga la presenza di percorsi di mobilità sociale tra persone di origine straniera, l’articolo analizza criticamente gli elementi che influenzano l’accesso a percorsi di elevata formazione. Concentrandosi sulle dimensioni che più appaiono cruciali - la famiglia di origine, i docenti e il capitale sociale - il contributo propone uno sguardo interdisciplinare, interrogando la prospettiva del servizio sociale. Sulla base delle evidenze empiriche, si riflette sulle funzioni chiave che l’assistente sociale potrebbe assolvere per sostenere percorsi di inclusione, evidenziandone il ruolo in azioni improntate al cambiamento strutturale e alla policy practice

No full textThe year 2015 obliged the world to contend with touching pictures of hundred of thousands of refuees fleeing from their home countries, risking their lives in the Mediterranean sea, trying to reach safer shores. UNHCR estimates that the number of global forcibly displaced people topped nearly 60 million. The main aim of this article is to consider how an IT based solution can contribute to the global refugee crisis. The research focuses on how citizens can contribute in innovative ways, rather than traditional governmental and institutional approaches. The innovative Italian initiative, called ’Refugees Welcome Italia’ promotes domestic hospitality as a way to further integration. Among the other innovative aspects featured by this initiative the most important is the participative nature. To reach this goal IT gives an important contribution, on the one hand helping people to communicate, on the other allowing social work practitioners to collect data and implement a tailored system
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
