No full textTranscript of an oral interview with Albert Marley. When Marley finished high school in 1943, he volunteered for service in the Navy. After training and gunnery school, Marley was assigned to a gun crew on a vessel that transported men and material to England from the East Coast. After the invasion at Normandy, Marley's ship delivered men and supplies to France. He even steamed through the Mediterranean Sea delivering supplies to Egypt and India. In all, he served aboard five ships and made runs as far as China, where his ship encountered Japanese submarines and planes. When the war ended, Marley was discharged and used the G.I. Bill to attend Purdue University

In doing so, they situate their music within a pre-existing prophetic lineage. These musicians selfconsciously view their music as vehicle to spread a divine message, and they recognize that their lyrical voice can either become or echo a prophetic voice

Marley is determined to make his first Christmas a success by helping his family get ready for the big day. Unfortunately, his efforts are decidedly unhelpful. From saving young Cassie from a snowflake chain (how was Marley to know it wasn’t a serpent?) to christening the Christmas tree, Marley unintentionally sabotages every stage of Christmas preparation. Luckily he ends up redeeming himself by alerting the family to the one thing they haven’t been able to bring about themselves: a beautiful Christmas snowfall! Their assumptions lead to a bisymmetry functional equation which, when the gambles are ranked, is defined on a restricted domain. Maksa [1999. Solution of generalized bisymmetry type equations without surjectivity. Aequationes Mathematicae , 57 , 50–74] solved the general case and Kocsis [2007. A bisymmetry equation on restricted domain. Aequationes Mathematicae , 73 , 280–284] presents the solution for the ranked case. The latter solution allows us to solve open problem 5 in Luce and Marley (2005) by showing that the assumptions of their Theorem 19 for an order-preserving ranked additive utility (RAU) representation U imply that U is a ranked weighted utility (RWU) representation that is additive over ⊕.
