A sturdy edition of eighty fables with good silhouettes (set off by small white fleck-marks within them) by Leclercq. The best of them for me are WL (29), The Ass and the Thieves (31), SS (47), SM (71) and The Cat, the Weasel, and the Rabbit (151). The last of these appears on the spine of both the book and the box. This is a hardbound book (hard cover)Language note: FrenchLa Fontain
L’œuvre de Chrestien Leclercq
Note:From 1675 to 1687, Father Chrestien Leclercq, a Recollect, evangelized micmac people of the Gaspe Peninsula. A part of the author's works, composed in New France, is untraceable at the present time. It concerns a Micmac dictionary and hieroglyphics, represented on note papers, which helped since the XVIIth century to make the micmac community literate. This hieroglyphic system, although altered to some extent, was practised by the Micmacs until the beginning of the XXth century. On returning to France, Father Leclercq published in 1691 New Relation of Gaspesia, a valuable document on the Micmac society of the XVII the century, and First Establishment of the Faith in New France, which refers to the history of the French colonial community and of the evangelization of Indians from the beginning of the XVIIth century by the Recollect. These two works make their author one of prominent historiographers of New France. […
Sequential Adaptive tailored Testing and Confidence Marking
Starting from the rasch model, the author explains how to take advantage in Confidence degrees given by the testee to concezive the starting rules, the branching rules and the stopping rules of an adaptive tailored testing. Note : These co,nsiderations have been deepened in a more recent publication : Leclercq (1982) "Confidence Marking. Its use in testing"
The participative approach ABC’Terre (attenuation of greenhouse gas emissions balance
integrating soil carbon storage at the territory scale) tends to establish a plan of action in order to
reduce the carbon footprint of the cropping systems of a territory. It has been already applied on
4 pilot territories in the frame of ABC’Terre 2A R&D project, finished in 2020. The results have been
analyzed in each territory in terms of impacts, proposed scenarii and of stakeholder’s mobilization.
In order to define strengths and weaknesses for future uses of the ABC’Terre approach, the drivers
of the results have been highlighted thanks to a systematic analysis of the territorial context, of the
stakeholders and the application of the method in each pilot territory. The diversity of each pilot
territory helps to support a preliminary diversification of the uses of the approach
Mots clés : Leclercq, rituel, normes, mouvements sociaux, démocratie, BelgiqueABSTRACTCrises, Cérémonies and Narrative Accounts. Reflections on " The Dutroux Case "This text presents an anthropological interpretation of events related to what is known in Belgium as "The Dutroux Case". More specifically, by drawing a parallel between the episodes of this terrible incident and the Turner model, the author suggests that ritual action enables social actors to become aware of social crises and to look for their solution. Subsequently, basing his argument on Ricœur's work, the author argues that for many people ritual represents an answer to a question they cannot clearly identify.Key words : Leclercq, ritual, norms, social movements, democracy, Belgiu
Circular Communities: The circular value flower as a design method for collectively closing resource flows
In Circular Communities, pioneering, collectively supported initiatives that are aimed at closing resource cycles at neighbourhood level take a central position. They are all examples of initiatives that contribute to the transition to a circular economy. For the analysis of these different circular initiatives, the researchers – urban designer Els Leclercq and architect Mo Smit - developed a unique method: the Circular Value Flower method. This method helps to organize the collective closing of resource cycles (bio and tech materials, energy, water and nutrients) on a neighbourhood scale and provides insight into the added value (social, ecological, aesthetic, cultural and economic) that can be realized within the built environment. Circular Communities offers inspiration and lessons for integral sustainable interventions at the scale of the neighbourhood and ties in with the new Dutch Environmental Planning Act, which explicitly offers room for citizen initiatives and local commissioning in the Netherlands.Design AestheticsArchitectural Technolog
South Africa's proposed new Marine Protected Area around the Prince Edward Islands: An analysis of legal obligations, options and opportunities
This dissertation examines the international, regional and national legal context for the declaration of a large multi-zoned MPA around the Prince Edward Islands. In particular I examine South Africa's obligations in terms of international and regional treaty law as well as its commitments to global policy statements. Legal options and opportunities for providing the most comprehensive, and yet practical, legal protection for such a MPA are examined. Recommendations are made based on this analysis
Born in 1916, Gilbert Rouget was an ethnomusicologist and assistant to André Schaeffner at the musée de l’Homme. In 1946, he took part in the Ogooué-Congo expedition. This article draws on the analysis of several previously unexamined documents, notably Rouget’s fieldnotes, as well as a number of interviews, to describe the epistemological contours of the encounter between ethnography and the use of sound-recording techniques. This allows the author to situate the Ogooué-Congo expedition in the wider history of ethnomusicology, which was, at the time, still in the process of acquiring official institutional status
Erosive aggressiveness of collapsing cavitating structures
The erosive aggressiveness of idealized cavities collapsing on a flat surface is investigated by numerical simulation, employing the cavitation intensity approach by Leclercq et al (2017) as a measure of the local energy impact rate. We propose a more straight forward formulation of the cavitation intensity model and verify that it satisfies energy conservation requirements for the accumulated surface energy. Based on the cavitation intensity model, statistical aggressiveness indicators are proposed. The indicators account for the rapidness and frequency of the collapse events. The aggressiveness indicators are further applied to a NACA0015 hydrofoil surface.Green Open Access added to TU Delft Institutional Repository ‘You share, we take care!’ – Taverne project https://www.openaccess.nl/en/you-share-we-take-care Otherwise as indicated in the copyright section: the publisher is the copyright holder of this work and the author uses the Dutch legislation to make this work public.Ship Hydromechanics and Structure
