No full textIl saggio ricostruisce la storia della fondazione della chiesa-ospedale dell'Incoronata a Napoli, voluta da Giovanna I d'Angiò. L'analisi dei documenti permette di ancorarne la costruzione tra il 1363 e il 1374 ca., e questa datazione viene confermata dall'analisi dell'architettura della chiesa e delle sue decorazioni. Viene inoltre discusso il significato simbolico che la costruzione rivestì per la committente, quale immagine di regalità fondata sull'assimilazione cristologica
