    Nel novembre 1965 la testata letteraria giapponese Bungei pubblicava il testo teatrale dello scrittore Mishima Yukio (1925-1970) Sado kōshaku fujin (La Marchesa de Sade) la cui fama, contemporanea e postuma, non avrebbe conosciuto soluzione di continuità. Il saggio si sviluppa con una presentazione della fortuna critica dell'opera teatrale in Giappone e in Europa (a cura di Virginia Sica); segue un'attenta riflessione dell'attrice Ida Marinelli sul percorso che la condusse alla piece teatrale e alle varie fasi di elaborazione del personaggio di Renèe de Sade.In November 1965 the Japanese literary magazine Bungei published the play of the writer Mishima Yukio (1925-1970) Sado kōshaku fujin (La Marchesa de Sade), whose fame, contemporary and posthumous, would not have known interruption. The paper develops a presentation of the critical success of the play in Japan and Europe (written by Virginia Sica), followed by a remarkable note by the actress Ida Marinelli, concerning the route that led her to the theater piece and the various stages of development of the character of Renée de Sade

    Rawls & Racial Injustice Marisa Marinelli, English and Philosophy Faculty Mentor: Professor Jason Grinnell, Philosophy Marisa is a December 2019 Buffalo State graduate who majored in English and Philosophy. She is currently taking a gap year to decide whether to continue on to graduate school in one of the two disciplines, or to pursue law school. During her fellowship, Marisa read and wrote extensively on different theories of justice and their real-world implications in the United States. She discovered that the application of John Rawls’ theory can be helpful in pointing out racial injustices present in fundamental aspects of the American criminal justice system today.
