Austin, “the major problem of Vergilian scolarship”) è possibile rintracciare, grazie all’accostamento tra Aen. 2, 568 s. "servantem et tacitam secreta in sede latentem Tyndarida aspicio" e Georg. 4, 459 "(hydrum) servantem ripas alta non vidit in herba", un ulteriore elemento che può inserirsi coerentemente nella rete di immagini che richiamano il serpente e caratterizzano il secondo libro dell’Eneide. Ciò consente di recuperare, all’interno di questo episodio tanto discusso, un altro tratto virgiliano, aggiungendo quindi un piccolo tassello alla difesa della sua autenticità

José J. Veiga e Guerra no coração do cerrado (2006), de Maria José Silveira, tendo
como foco a linguagem trabalhada pelos escritores para a construção de suas
narrativas. O embasamento teórico partirá de Bakhtin em Marxismo e Filosofia da
Linguagem (2004), Hayden White, Trópicos do discurso - ensaios sobre a crítica da
cultura (1994), para averiguação dos tropos da linguagem. Julia Kristeva -
Introdução à semanálise (2005) para se trabalhar a intertextualidade; Linda
Hutcheon - Poéticas do pós-modernismo: história, teoria, ficção (1991); André
Trouche América: história e ficção (2006), Alcmeno Bastos - Introdução ao
romance histórico(2007) e João Adolfo Hansen com a obra - Alegoria:construção e
interpretação da metáfora (2006). As obras de ficção serão avaliadas pelos índices
de referencialidade histórica tomados como intertextos no processo de estruturação
poética. Em um primeiro momento, ver-se-á a linguagem como construto
lingüístico e como fator sociológico e diferencial nas sociedades narradas nos
romances em estudo. Em seguida, buscar-se-á a relação interdiscursiva entre
História e Ficção nos romances A casca da serpente e Guerra no coração do
cerrado. Em outro momento, os romances serão vistos dentro de uma
particularidade que é o narrar histórico e a ficção.This study aims to analyze the works A casca da serpente (2001), José J. Veiga and

historical referentiality intertexts taken as the process of poetic structure. At first,

Role of Genetics and Epigenetics in the Pathogenesis of Alzheimer's Disease and Frontotemporal Dementia
No full textAlzheimer's disease (AD) and frontotemporal dementia (FTD) represent the first cause of dementia in senile and pre-senile population, respectively. A percentage of cases have a genetic cause, inherited with an autosomal dominant pattern of transmission. The majority of cases, however, derive from complex interactions between a number of genetic and environmental factors. Gene variants may act as risk or protective factors. Their combination with a variety of environmental exposures may result in increased susceptibility to these diseases or may influence their course. The scenario is even more complicated considering the effect of epigenetics, which encompasses mechanisms able to alter the expression of genes without altering the DNA sequence. In this review, an overview of the current genetic and epigenetic progresses in AD and FTD will be provided, with particular focus on 1) causative genes, 2) genetic risk factors and disease modifiers, and 3) epigenetics, including methylation, non-coding RNAs and chromatin remodeling

No full textEste trabalho propõe um estudo do mito da serpente, na obra A serpente emplumada, de D.H. Lawrence, baseado na trajetória mítica do herói, estabelecida por Joseph Campbell e na crítica junguiana da cultura. Kate, a protagonista, empreende uma busca de renascimento psicológico e espiritual, ao chegar à terra primitiva do México. Tal busca simboliza um retorno ao mundo primitivo da Grande Mãe, entendido, do ponto de vista psicológico, como o inconsciente. Assim como o processo de individuação, descrito por Jung, essa personagem enfrenta rompimentos e dificuldades no decorrer da expansão da consciência. Neste sentido, a serpente simboliza tanto o que é viperino na natureza humana, quanto à sabedoria do corpo e dos instintos
Innate immune system and inflammation in Alzheimer's disease : from pathogenesis to treatment
No full textImmune activation and inflammation, likely triggered by amyloid-beta (Aβ) deposition, play a remarkable role in the pathogenesis of Alzheimer's disease (AD), which is the most frequent cause of dementia in the elderly. The principal cellular elements of the brain innate immune system likely to be involved in such processes are microglia. In an attempt to search for new disease-modifying drugs, the immune system has been addressed, with the aim of removing deposition of Aβ or tau by developing vaccines and humanized monoclonal antibodies. The aim of this review is to summarize the current evidence regarding the role played by microglia and inflammatory molecules in the pathogenesis of AD. In addition, we will discuss the main active and passive immunotherapeutic approaches
