Exploring Hypertension Patient Engagement Using mHealth. A Scoping Review
IntroductionWidespread use of smartphone applications has opened new perspectives for home Blood Pressure monitoring based on mobile health (mHealth) technologies. Patient engagement has been dubbed 'the silver bullet of the century'.AimThe aim was to identify the impact of engagement in patients with blood pressure using mHealth.MethodsThis scoping review was conducted in accordance with the Ark0sey and O'Malley framework. Database: Pubmed, CINAHL, Scopus and PsycInfo. This review considered both qualitative and quantitative primary searches. We excluded articles belonging to grey literature, secondary literature and paediatric setting. Between September and November 2023, the review was carried out.ResultsA total of 569 documents were retrieved from the four databases. After the deduplication process, five articles were removed. The selection process based on titles and abstracts included 133 records. Ten studies were selected and analysed. The reviewers identified the following themes: device type and mobile applications, engagement, blood pressure control, health behaviours and hypertension knowledge. Self-management using digital technologies in the home is strongly linked to engagement, reduction and control of Blood Pressure, improved health practices and increased knowledge of hypertension. Healthcare interventions using IT platforms have had a significant impact on the health outcomes of patients diagnosed with hypertension.ConclusionsThe review findings suggest the value of these technologies in improving patient engagement and, consequently, adherence to antihypertensive treatment and achieving blood pressure control rates, potentially reducing cardiovascular risk

Risk factors and management of postpartum urinary retention: A scoping review
This study aimed to identify the risk factors for the onset of postpartum urinary retention (PUR), to locate the most effective prevention, treatment interventions, and how to improve its management. The research questions were the following: 'In postpartum women, what are the risk factors for PUR? In postpartum women, what are the interventions aimed to manage the urinary retention?' PUR is defined as an inability to void spontaneously or adequately during the postpartum period. PUR is a common disease that can lead to different consequences and the necessity of its management is indisputable. It is necessary to work on the prevention of the onset of PUR by promptly recognizing the risk factors and acting on them, with the aim of developing guidelines and protocols that help in clinical practice. A scoping review was performed. PubMed, CINAHL, Cochrane Library, Scopus, , Medline (Journals@Ovid Full Text, YourJournals@Ovid, Ovid MEDLINE[R] ALL) were systematically searched from 2014 until 2019. A total of 17 articles were included. Several studies have shown the presence of risk factors for the onset of PUR including mode and duration of labour, post-void residual bladder volume, episiotomy, vaginal tears, instrumental delivery, method of anaesthesia or analgesia, peripartum micturition, catheterization during labour, birth weight and parity. In addition, the duration of PUR is influenced by other factors, such as the number of fluids administered in the delivery room. Based on the current literature, PUR is a common condition that can lead to different consequences and the necessity of its management is indisputable. Although the risk factors are quite clear, there is still no definite way of treatment. Future research should focus on the PUR treatment

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Finally, we show by means of an example that our findings have a high practical relevance.information science;Pearson correlation;cosine;similarity measure;author cocitation analysis
