No full textl saggio presenta l'evoluzione del concetto di autorità politica nel passaggio dal Convivio alla Monarchia. L'accostamento tra autorità filosofico-morale e autorità giuridico-politica, già auspicato nel quarto trattato dell'opera volgare è ulteriormente approfondito nel primo libro dell'opera latina. Competenza filosofica e capacità politica sono entrambe parte del corredo costitutivo dell'autorità universale. Attraverso un articolato procedimento sillogistico, Dante dimostra come la massimizzazione del potere e la perfezione del volere siano coessenziali per costruire un governante universale indefettibile. Accertata questa simbiosi, può declinare il rapporto tra l'autorità universale e le particolari, strumenti di mediazione operativa affinché il perfetto Filosofo/Imperatore possa attuare la correzione morale del genere umano; ma, soprattutto, il Poeta può chiarire il rapporto del Monarca verso l'autorità spirituale, che è stata voluta dalla Provvidenza per cooperare con l'istituto imperiale, potenziandolo nella sua capacità di giudice terreno universale

Full text linkLa fama e il culto di Dante Alighieri giunsero anche in Russia nel XIX secolo. A diffondere la loro conoscenza e una interpretazione culturale e politica legata al progetto risorgimentale italiano, fu Michelangelo Pinto. Romano, noto soprattutto come codirettore con Leopoldo Spini del giornale satirico Il don Pirlone, era andato in esilio dopo la caduta della Repubblica Romana. Approdato in Russia grazie alla conoscenza di personalità come Turgenev e altri, vi restò circa un quarto di secolo, insegnando all’Università imperiale di San Pietroburgo e svolgendovi le funzioni di console per moltissimi anni. Volle peraltro fondare proprio nel 1865, sesto centenario della nascita di Dante, la Società italiana di beneficenza. Le sue lezioni su Dante (come su altri letterati italiani) e i suoi ampi scritti sul Fiorentino ne fecero conoscere un profilo di profeta del Risorgimento e di massimo contributore della costituzione della nazione italiana.
The fame and cult of Dante Alighieri also reached Russia in the 19th century. Spreading their knowledge and a cultural and political interpretation linked to the Italian Risorgimento project was Michelangelo Pinto. A Roman, best known as co-director with Leopoldo Spini of the satirical newspaper Il don Pirlone, he had gone into exile after the fall of the Roman Republic. Having landed in Russia thanks to his acquaintance with personalities such as Turgenev and others, he stayed there for about a quarter of a century, teaching at the Imperial University of St Petersburg, and serving as consul there for many years. He also founded the Italian Charity Society in 1865, the sixth centenary of Dante's birth. His lectures on Dante (as on other Italian men of letters) and his extensive writings on the Florentine made him a profile as a prophet of the Risorgimento and a major contributor to the constitution of the Italian nation

No full textIl saggio invita a superare la ricorrente interpretazione di alcuni brani della Commedia tradizionalmente letti alla luce degli eventi che hanno caratterizzato la biografia dantesca in senso politico e a tener conto piuttosto delle caratteristiche loro poetiche, del contesto letterario e ideologico, dei precedenti classici e romanzi, nella convinzione che i caratteri propri della lingua poetica conducano il discorso politico esperito nella Commedia a traguardi espressivi diversi e più persuasivi rispetto a quelli della prosa; e a individuare uno specifico pensiero politico-poetico di Dante, mai del tutto sovrapponibile a quello che si manifesta in altri generi praticati dall’autore.The essay invites to overcome the recurrent interpretation of some passages of the Comedia – usually read in the light of the events that have characterized Dante's biography in a political sense - and to take into account rather their poetic characteristics, the literary and ideological context, the influence of the classics and of vernacular poetry, in the belief that the characteristics of his poetic language lead the political discourse experienced in the Comedia to different and more persuasive aims than those of the prose; it also invites to identify a specific political-poetic thought of Dante, never completely superimposable to the style he experienced in other literary genres

No full textQuesta raccolta di saggi nasce dall’esigenza di riconsiderare il pensiero politico dantesco e la sua ricezione attraverso diverse prospettive metodologiche e disciplinari: storica, letteraria, politologica, giuridica e filosofica. I saggi qui riuniti sono una rielaborazione di relazioni presentate al Convegno Internazionale “Dante e la politica”, tenutosi all’Università di Roma Tre il 6 e 7 maggio 2021 con il patrocinio del Comitato Nazionale per le celebrazioni del settecentenario dantesco. Gli autori hanno affrontato sia il pensiero politico di Dante così come espresso nelle diverse opere e nel suo contesto storico e teorico, sia la mutevole e talvolta controversa ricezione che lo ha contraddistinto. Il volume non solo offre un quadro ampio e articolato delle conoscenze acquisite in materia, ma presenta anche nuovi spunti esegetici ed interpretativi che mirano a stimolare l’avvio di ulteriori riflessioni sui vari aspetti del pensiero politico dantesco
Extraction of Schottky barrier parameters for metal-semiconductor junctions on high resistivity inhomogeneous, semiconductors
No full textWe present a novel method for the extraction of the relevant electrical and physical parameters of Schottky diodes realized on polycrystalline thin films. The proposed approach relies on a limited set of current-voltage characteristics measured at different temperatures and does not require the previous knowledge of any semiconductor parameter. The procedure provides satisfactory results in terms of relative errors even in the case of nonideal characteristics, including a very large series resistance and strong temperature and bias dependence of both barrier and ideality factor. We tested the approach on both simulated devices and real Cr-poly-Si Schottky diodes
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Full text linkThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Application of Unconditioned Nanostructured Thermoplastic-Based Strain Gauge Sensor in Wearable Electronics
Full text linkWearable electronics is now revolutionizing the world of smart sensors offering tremendous solutions to a variety of applications that span from biomedical market to gaming and fashion sectors. In this scenario, physical sensors play a crucial role since they offer fast and reliable feedback on human motion, even for fine gestures, and can detect vital physiological parameters such as breathing and heart beating, while being able to be easily integrated into textile. Among wearable physical sensors, thermoplastic materials are utilized for their sensitivity and high stretchability. Moreover, these materials exhibit a good chemical resistance and implement low-cost manufacturing processes. In this work, we report a full characterization of a new thermoplastic nanocomposite material comparing its performances with and without preconditioning for strain up to 20%. Together with a measured gauge factor (GF) of about 10, sensors without preconditioning exhibit very good stability and they result to be a good candidate for wearable applications. We demonstrate this statement by analyzing the performance of a smart wristband prototype that integrates these strain gauges, obtaining very high performance of the sensors without prestrain in gesture recognition tasks with an accuracy and F-score of about 94%
Variations on the Author
Full text link“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
