Determinates of urban housing abandonment and homesteading

    No full text
Examination of Urban Homesteading as an urban renewal strategy for remediation for inner city housing abandonment. The previous research on causal factors of inner city residential abandonment are discussed. The two strategies of urban renewal are examined, rehabilitation of existing structures and redevelopment. The City of Philadelphia Urban Homesteading program is used as a data source for a regression analysis of demographic factors of abandonments and urban homesteading selection criteria. Conclusions of the research are the correlation between housing abandonment and urban homesteading selection criteria. Funding is the overshadowing factor in the success of urban homesteading and the driving force in residential abandonment.M.A.Includes bibliographical referencesby Andrae M. Tucke

The working group "Springer Compact Evaluierung" made the data for these articles available via the platform OpenAPC and would like to use this opportunity to give a short account of what this publishing agreement actually entails and the working group intends to do

A Repman's life - report from the Austrian "Repository Manager Network" [translation of the title]. Over the last decade, the number of academic repositories has slowly increased in Austrian institutions, especially supported by the e-infrastructures Austria project (2014–16), with its focus on promoting repository infrastructure in our country. Mostly located at libraries or other research supporting facilities the repository manager operates as a mediator between the needs of the target audience and the requests of the stakeholders, while considering the technical requirements and possibilities, evaluating and integrating trends and future needs as well as trying to keep up to date by means of continuing education. However, what exactly is it that repository managers do? Based on the regular meetings of the Austrian “Netzwerk für RepositorienmanagerInnen” (Repository Manager Network) since May 2017 this article attempts to depict some of the issues that repository managers are currently facing

Over the last decade, the number of academic repositories has slowly increased in Austrian institutions, especially supported by the e-infrastructures Austria project (2014–16)2, with its focus on promoting repository infrastructure in our country.
