Drosophila lehrmanae Madi-Ravazzi 2021
Drosophila lehrmanae Madi-Ravazzi et al., 2021 (Fig. 9) Non-type material. Strain STV-like (Camp Nouragues, French Guiana): 80 males dissected. Male terminalia. The aedeagus of this species is very similar to that of D. sturtevanti (Fig. 9A–C), however, the striking characteristic that differs it from the other species is the relatively short aedeagal apex (Fig. 9B, C). In addition to this, the lower base of the aedeagus has a less pronounced projection than that of D. sturtevanti (Fig. 9B).Published as part of Roman, Bruna Emilia & Madi-Ravazzi, Lilian, 2021, Male terminalia morphology of sixteen species of the Drosophila saltans group Sturtevant (Diptera, Drosophilidae), pp. 523-544 in Zootaxa 5061 (3) on page 534, DOI: 10.11646/zootaxa.5061.3.7, http://zenodo.org/record/564995
Mosaic Atlas: Interview with Halim Madi
This interview with Halim Madi, a Lebanese-American poet and spoken word performer who creates interactive computational poetry, was conducted by Milina Jovanovic as part of the Mosaic Atlas project. Topics discussed include cultural hybridity, fluidity, gender identity, and complexity of lived experience that defies single, dominant narratives. As part of the Mosaic Atlas project, Mosaic Staff and Volunteers, SJSU students and faculty from the Anthropology and Film, Theater, and Dance Departments interviewed people who support and produce art throughout the Bay Area
MADI: A Universal Art Movement
The essay focuses on MADI, an artistic phenomenon of international breadth founded by Carmelo Arden Quin in Buenos Aires in 1946 that is based on the principles of no-expression, no representation, no simbolysm.
The contribution focuses on the founding moments of the movement with particular reference to the figure of Joaquin Torres Garcia and Tomas Maldonado analysing the main exhibitions in Latin America and Europe.
Furthermore, the text examines the artworks on display because, despite their similarities and affinities, the works of each artist in this exhibition are autonomous and carry their individual high-profile research that finds its highest completion through MADI.
The exhibition was hosted by the renowned 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art in Kanazawa, with its impressive architecture by Kazuyo Sejima+Ryue Nishizawa/SANAA and its high-profile programming

Plant diversity in Trus Madi
Trus Madi Range is located in the interior part of Sabah, Malaysia, and covers three districts, namely Tambunan, Keningau and Ranau. The flora of Trus Madi is very rich and unique. Its forest reserve is managed by the Sabah Forestry Department. Even though there were many botanical collections done in Trus Madi, there are very few published reports. Areas where most botanical surveys had been carried out in Trus Madi Range were mainly in FMU 10 (Tambunan and Keningau) and some in Ranau. There are two species of Rafflesia found in Trus Madi, namely R. keithii and R. tengku-adlinii. Nepenthes x trusmadiensis, an endemic pitcher plant named after Mount Trus Madi, is found on the top of the mountain. In the present inventory of 2004 in Trus Madi (FMU 10), 406 species in 105 families of plants were recorded within eight plots (100-900 m2). The flora of Trus Madi is very significant to Sabah as it can attract both researchers and tourists
