Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Get PDFThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship

No full textTato bakalářská práce se zabývá prenatální diagnostikou vrozených vývojových vad, informovaností těhotných žen o této diagnostice, zaměřuje se na problematiku umělého přerušení těhotenství v souladu s platnou legislativou. Teoretická část práce se věnuje historii a popisu prenatální diagnostiky, jednotlivých metod vyšetření, kterými se vrozené vady zjišťují, taktéž objasňuje vliv stresu na organismus těhotné ženy v souvislosti s těmito vyšetřeními. Dále vymezuje pojem vrozené vady, komunikace, popisuje stádia emočních reakcí rodičů. Zabývá se úskalími při sdělování nepříznivé diagnózy. V praktické části jsou popsána zpracovaná data z výzkumného šetření, jehož cílem je vyzdvihnout význam prenatální diagnostiky v současné době. Tato část práce pojednává o tom, jakou roli při rozhodování o budoucnosti nenarozeného dítěte sehrála rodina, partner a sociální postavení, jaké možné komplikace s tímto rozhodnutím vyvstaly či nikoli a zda jejich volba byla z jejich pohledu s jistým časovým odstupem správná.This bachelor thesis deals with prenatal diagnosis and prenatal screening of congenital defects, availability of relevant information to pregnant women and their knowledge about this diagnosis, it focuses on issue of abortion in accordance with current legislation. The theoretical part is devoted to the history and description of prenatal diagnosis, the single methods of testing used for diagnosis of congenital defect and also clarifies the effect of stress on the body of a pregnant woman in connection with these investigations. Further it defines the origins of birth defects, communication, describes the stages of emotional reactions of parents. It deals with the issues that arise, when parents are informed about serious diagnosis. In the practical part there are analysed recorded data from research. The aim is to highlight the importance of prenatal diagnosis at the present time. This part discusses what role in deciding the future of the unborn child is played by the family, partner and social circumstances. What complications possibly arose when making this decision. No full textCílem této bakalářské práce je nabídnout čtenářům ucelený přehled týkající se specifik bolesti u novorozenců. Práce je rozdělena na teoretickou a praktickou část. V teoretické části jsem se zaměřila na fyziologii a patofyziologii bolesti novorozenců a popsala její projevy. Zpracovala jsem přehled metod, které slouží k diagnostice bolesti a předložila poznatky o farmakologických a nefarmakologických postupech tlumení bolesti. Praktická část se zabývá údaji získanými výzkumným šetřením. Získaná data jsou zpracována v tabulkách a grafech.The aim of this bachelor thesis is to offer readers an integrated summary considering the specifics of neonates pain. The thesis is divided into a theoretical and practical part. I have aimed in the theoretical part to decribe the physiology and pathophysiology of neonates pain and its symptoms. I have summarized the methods that are used for pain diagnostics and introduced the knowledge of pharmacological and non-pharmacological methods for pain control. Prvá - teoretická časť obsahuje informácie o pôrode KP (čo to je, rozdelenie, príčiny, diagnóza, kompli-kácie), definíciu novorodencov, prvú prehliadku, popôrodnú traumu novorodencov a kom-plikácie medzi vaginálnym pôrodom KP a cisárskym rezom. Druhá - praktická časť zahŕňa výskum stavu novorodencov po pôrode KP v nemocnici Zlín v rokoch 2015-2016, pričom sa porovnáva vaginálny pôrod s pôrodom SC.My bachelor thesis focuses on conditions in newborn after vaginal breech delivery and after C-section. Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Cílem práce je zjistit pohled rodičů na celý proces transportu a na péči poskytnutou v rámci hospitalizace v KNTB, a.s. prostřednictvím rozhovoru s rodiči transportovaných a hospitalizovaných novorozenců. Dalším cílem je zpracování informační brožury pro rodiče transportovaných a hospitalizovaných dětí, kterou by bylo možné uvést do praxe.This work focuses on the specific of the transfer of newborns in the Regional Hospital of Tomas Bata in Zlín, Ltd.
