We’re back for out second election podcast, sneaking in here just before the Easter weekend. In this week’s podcast, Mairi Spowage and Emma Congreve reflect on the first full week of the election campaign and the themes that came up in this week’s leaders debate. We also have a guest segment from Peter MacMahon, ITV Border’s Political Editor, to talk about the big political themes as well as what is on table policy wise this election, nationally and in the south of Scotland specifically. The MacMahon R-matrix

    No full text
Abstract We introduce an R-matrix acting on the tensor product of MacMahon representations of Ding-Iohara-Miki (DIM) algebra U q , t g l ^ ^ 1 Uq,t(gl^^1) {U}_{q,t}\left({\widehat{\widehat{\mathfrak{gl}}}}_1\right) . This R-matrix acts on pairs of 3d Young diagrams and retains the nice symmetry of the DIM algebra under the permutation of three deformation parameters q, t −1 and t q tq \frac{t}{q} . We construct the intertwining operator for a tensor product of the horizontal Fock representation and the vertical MacMahon representation and show that the intertwiners are permuted using the MacMahon R-matrix

Specializations of MacMahon symmetric functions and the polynomial algebra

    No full text
A MacMahon symmetric function is a formal power series in a finite number of alphabets that is invariant under the diagonal action of the symmetric group. We use a combinatorial construction of the different bases of the vector space of MacMahon symmetric functions found by the author to obtain their image under the principal specialization: the powers, rising and falling factorials. Then, we compute the connection coefficients of the different polynomial bases in a combinatorial way

Macmahon\u27s Master Theorem And Infinite Dimensional Matrix Inversion

    Get PDF
MacMahon\u27s Master Theorem is an important result in the theory of algebraic combinatorics. It gives a precise connection between coefficients of certain power series defined by linear relations. We give a complete proof of MacMahon\u27s Master Theorem based on MacMahon\u27s original 1960 proof. We also study a specific infinite dimensional matrix inverse due to C. Krattenthaler
