Modelli di business sostenibili nell’era dell’intelligenza artificiale. Teoria, pratiche e prospettive strategiche
Managing nonprofit organisations with effective governance. Overiew of managerial literature and outlook
Aziende nonprofit. Motivazioni e performance dell'organo di governo
The interest shown for nonprofit governance models continues to be characterized by a still wide set of heterogeneous analyses. Barring some exceptions, a significant part of the body of literature dealing with the governance of nonprofit organizations continues to be focused on the problems and peculiarities of the American and, more generally, Anglo-Saxon nonprofit sector. European literature on this subject is, on the other hand, less developed, with a slight increase in the number of publications being recorded only in the past few years. The analyses deal with a sector distinguished by the presence of large foundations, hospitals or charities that operate with goals, resource systems and managerial structures that are markedly different from those of a significant part of European nonprofit organizations. For those who have focused their research on governance, the topics under examination have resulted being greatly affected by these structural characteristics, highlighting a strong focus on the economic performance and the efficiency and the relations of the management and staff within large health, social and cultural institutions.
The link between Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) and productivity has generated considerable interest among academics and practitioners in recent years. In the 1980s and in the early 1990s, empirical research generally did not find relevant productivity improvements associated with ICT investments. At the same time, information technology is widely acknowledged as the key factor behind the US productivity revival. By the mid-1990s it has revolutionized both firms' activity and household lifetime, delivering higher levels of efficiency and welfare. The paper highlights the broad theme of smart systems on a mainly organizational and economic level. In order to fully understand the relationship between smart systems and productivity it is necessary identify the relationships that unite these resources with the activities of the business processes. In a firm perspective the simply availability of digital smart systems does not necessarily lead to success. On the contrary, it requires that firms accompany digital resources with the development of best organizational practices. Digital technologies allow companies to improve productivity in two ways: by making hard improvements that dramatically increase the efficiency of "smart" machine and processes, and by making soft improvements that increase the efficiency of people working together
