IL LAVORO IN ALTURA: L’IMPORTANZA DELLA PREVENZIONE E DEL SOCCORSO PER LA SALUTE DEI LAVORATORI IN ALTA QUOTA

    No full text
Abstract. Introduction. The mountain is certainly a fascinating environment, but it must always be lived with extreme caution and attention, especially during work, even scientific and research activities, which take place at high altitudes. Many are the norms and guidelines that over the years have governed the work of these areas, falling all under the dictation of D.Lgs 81/08 and D.M. 388/03. The National Research Council, the largest Italian scientific research institute, carries out its activities and offers its advice in collaboration with the major international research institutes, including in laboratories and centers located at high altitudes (such as the observatory laboratory “EV-K2” in Tibet or the most recent” Laboratory of Altura “in Chilecito in Argentina). From this comes the need for the CNR Prevention and Protection Service to provide up-to-date procedures to its staff, in order to preserve the health of the worker

Cooking pots from Alassa Pano Mantilaris and Paliotaverna

    No full text
This final report on the 1984–2000 investigations at Alassa begins with the presentation of the rescue excavations of the settlement (Chapter 2) and tombs (Chapter 3) at Pano Mantilaris. This is followed by the account of the elite architecture and associated finds uncovered at Paliotaverna (Chapter 4) and a detailed description and discussion of the remarkable seal impressions found on many of the Alassa pithoi (Chapter 5). In-depth studies of the Alassa pithoi and all of the other pottery found at the site are presented in Chapters 6 and 7 by Priscilla Keswani and Ariane Jacobs, respectively. Federica Spagnoli presents a report on cooking pots in chapter 7. Reports by other specialists on a variety of topics may be found in the 10 appendices: the cylinder and stamp seals (Aruz), metallurgical finds (Kassianidou and Van-Brempt), marked pottery (Hirschfeld), C14 dates (Manning), human remains (Lorentz), faunal remains (Croft), coins (Destrooper), ground stone objects (Souter), and archaeometric studies of the pithoi (Nodarou) and other pottery (Jacobs et al.). The results from all of these studies are integrated within the conclusions that the author offers in Chapter 8 regarding the chronology and importance of Alassa within the broader cultural and sociopolitical context of LBA Cyprus

Introduzione. Nella valutazione del rischio da stress lavoro-correlato degli addetti al videoterminale deve essere tenuta in considerazione la presenza di difetti visivi.(VDT) operators involves the use of various instrumental methods to diagnose and measure over time not only visus defects, but also the presence of heterophoria and discromatopsies. Aim. The purpose of the research is to assess whether those with visual defects have an increased risk of related stress work. Methods. Materials and Methods: The sample of 128 video-terminal personnel during health surveillance has undergone the visual examination and the administration of the HSE-IT questionnaire. The following parameters were related to non-reversible visual defects such as: alteration of visus, presence of heterophore and discromatopsies, and a nonparametric analysis of the statistical significance of the difference of results to the HSE-IT questionnaire between the population with visual defects and healthy controls. Results. 39 workers with defective visus, 22 with heterophoria and 14 with discromatopsies were diagnosed by health surveillance. Their risk profile produced by the HSE Analysis Tool turns out to be more critical than the healthy group. Conclusions. The cross-study shows that video visual impairment staff have a greater risk of work-related stress. In the work-related work-related stress risk assessment, the presence of visual defects must be considered
