Sustainability and the Cranbrook Alliance Church (CAC): Final Research Report
Get PDFThis report was completed in order to discover what the CAC is doing to facilitate an atmosphere of sustainability and what can be done in order to improve it. The CAC has never officially implemented a sustainable business model so this report will serve to provide an idea of where they stand in regard to sustainability. Immense growth within the organized church as of late means churches share many of the same amenities as some businesses or medium-sized organizations. However, much of this growth has occurred without much focus on the environment. Interviews were conducted and secondary resources were consulted in order to determine where the CAC stands and what best practices are. These results were then summarized and presented in this report. Some areas where effective change can be realized are; ensuring the doors are all properly weather sealed, replacing light bulbs to decrease energy usage, servicing the HVAC units on a yearly basis, placing recycling bins near the exits of the sanctuary to gather bulletins, develop a more intensive recycling program, addressing landscaping and outdoor watering issues and hosting quarterly meetings to facilitate sustainable brainstorming.Peer reviewe

Nous présentons la norme IAS 29 Information financière en économie hyperinflationniste, nous faisons un état des lieux des pays considérés hyperinflationniste au 31/12/2023 ainsi qu’une revue de la littérature sur l’application de l’IAS 29. A partir de l’analyse des rapports annuels pour l’année 2023 des groupes du CAC40. Nous avons étudié les groupes concernés par l’Argentine et la Turquie. L’analyse des rapports montre différents degrés de détail fourni lors de l’application de cette norme qui pourrait être associé à une gestion des impressions

Development of a Novel Competitive Adsorption Model and a Contaminant Transport Model to Predict Competitive Adsorption of PFAS in a CAC Barrier
No full textGroundwater contamination by per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) is a global problem, and current treatment methods are expensive and/or inefficient. Attenuation of PFAS plume by subsurface Colloidal Activated Carbon (CAC) sorptive barrier is a potential interim alternative. However, competitive adsorption can impact the longevity of CAC barriers. Competitive adsorption is predicted using models such as ideal adsorbed solution theory (IAST) and competitive Langmuir model (CLM). This study tested the existing competitive adsorption models and developed a new model, Modified CLM (MCLM), to predict the competitive adsorption equilibria of PFAS on CAC. The findings indicate that neither IAST nor CLM accurately predicts the competitive adsorption equilibria, but MCLM performs best and suggests a relationship between PFAS competitive adsorption and their molecular weights. A 1D transport model with CLM was also developed which was able to simulate the chromatographic effect and the gradual breakthrough curve of long-chained PFAS observed in the literature
