Turismo e sviluppo locale sostenibile. Il Parco Naturale Regionale Costa Otranto - Santa Maria di Leuca e Bosco di Tricase nella Macroregione Adriatico-Jonica

    No full text
The “Costa Otranto-Santa Maria di Leuca and Bosco di Tricase” Regional Natural Park is the only coastal park in Apulia. The Park is a real point of reference for the sustainable tourism and, broadly speaking, for the sustainable local development perspectives of the area. Salento is renowned especially for its seas and beaches, but the real strong points of this area are its environmental and cultural elements. Moreover, the recent creation of the Ionian-Adriatic Macroregion offers a further precious contribution to strengthen both the ongoing actions and the future projects started by the Park and the promotion of the attractiveness of the entire area. Therefore, the aim of this paper is precisely to assess the strengths and weaknesses by means of reconstruction of the relationships between the Park and other private and public bodies since it was founded in 2006. Furthermore, the major actions carried out by the Park so far are analyzed and several development proposals are taken into consideration with the aim of enhancing the effectiveness of the previous actions and to verify the expected effects of the Macroregion strategy at a local level

By integrating the content offered while teaching the module “Knowledge of Friuli”, and considering the cultural importance offered by the descendants of Friulian origins, with this work we would like to emphasize the importance of the international promotion and development of Italian agrofood, in particular, that of Friuli Venezia Giulia since it is a region known for its unique flavours and cultural excellence. Thus, it is essential to recognise the importance of this uniqueness, which is the cornerstone for the development of excellent local products. In addition, a further objective of this work is to highlight the vital role played by effective organisation in production areas which makes the region competitive at an international level, especially in relation to aggregations of associated companies. It should be noted that the process of internationalisation of Italian agrofood affects the entire agricultural sector, both in terms of production and processing. In this way, for example, the region of Friuli Venezia Giulia, thanks to the introduction of the brand “Tipicamente Friulano” (Typically Friulian), is adapting to the demand and sensitivity of the new global market, enhancing the excellence of regional agrofood products

    Different preferences for wine communication

This study aimed at verifying the presence of variations in the reactions of different types of audiences to certain communication tools for wine. Five samples of audiences were compared: wine professionals, organic produce specialists, wine tourists, and two samples of general tourists. The following bundle of attributes were considered: name of the grape; information on organic production methods; type of closure; QR code; landscape; advertising language. Diverse audience's preferences were measured by conjoint analysis. The results have shown a common sensitivity to certain attributes, and a different or contrary sensitivity to others. In particular, all samples have demonstrated that: 1) certified organic wines communicated in standard wine-market style have the potential of becoming market leaders; 2) photographs facilitate the acceptance of technologically-advanced closures; 3) the presence of the QR code in printed advertisements increases the expected value of the product; 4)a landscape characterised by holistic “garden viticulture” increases preferences. Textual language was more effective with professionals, while photographic language was more effective with tourists. Supplementary information on the organic production methods, in addition to the mandatory labelling requirements, increased the preferences of professionals and wine tourists, and was counterproductive with the general tourists. © 2017 UniCeSV, University of Florenc

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

    Variations on the Author

“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship

Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis

We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Finally, we show by means of an example that our findings have a high practical relevance.information science;Pearson correlation;cosine;similarity measure;author cocitation analysis

Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts

We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more sophisticated methods
