    The politics of fashion: perceptions of power in female clothing and ornamentation as reflected in the sixteenth-century Chinese novel Jin Ping Mei

    This thesis examines issues of female power and influence in sixteenth-century China focusing on how women and their roles were perceived in the changing social environment of the mid-late Ming dynasty. Using aspects of a New Historicist approach, information from contemporary literary and historical sources are analysed alongside each other. With its emphasis on the lives of women and preoccupation with the description of material objects, the late Ming novel Jin Ping Mei forms an important element in the thesis. China in the sixteenth century saw expanding urbanisation, the emergence of a new wealthy merchant class, increasing visibility of women and a questioning of traditional morality. Fashion consciousness, as one of the most conspicuous aspects of the new material culture, is a possible indicator of these trends. Traditional Western theories contend that fashion began in the particular context of Renaissance Europe. However, this study argues that a similar fashion awareness existed in China too, and was manifested in a competitive striving for social status, in this case specifically among women. In contrast to previous studies which downplayed the impact women had on defining traditional Chinese culture, this thesis demonstrates how women and their sartorial choices began to redefine the boundaries of material culture, influencing literati discourse which, in turn, re- influenced female behaviour

    Sejalan dengan perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan, banyak bahan-bahan thick film superkonduktor telah dihasilkan oleh banyak para peneliti ataupun ilmuwan dengan berbagai modifikasi. Di samping proses pembuatan bahan thick film superkonduktor relatif lebih mudah dan murah jika dibandingkan dengan metode lain dan juga proses pembuatan bahan thin film superkonduktor, maka dalam penelitian ini akan dilakukan proses sintesis bahan film tebal YBCO superkonduktor dengan menggunakan metode screen-printing dan mengkarakterisasinya dengan menggunakan mikroskop optik untuk mengetahui mikrostruktur dan pengukuran rapat arus kritis (Jc) untuk mengetahui rapat arus kritis (Jc) bahan yang dihasilkan. Penentuan rapat arus kritis (Jc) telah berhasil dilakukan di Laboratorium Fisika Material Jurusan Fisika FMIPA Universitas Jember bulan Mei – Desember 2005 dengan melakukan kegiatan yang pada intinya terdiri dari 2 hal pokok. Bagian pertama berisi tentang sintesa bahan film tebal YBCO superkonduktor. Bahan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah bahan YBCO/YBa . Dan sintesa bahan dilakukan di atas substrat YSZ dengan menggunakan metode screen-printing melalui proses kalsinasi dan sintering pada temperatur 930 C selama 2 jam. Untuk bagian kedua, berisi tentang uji kualitas bahan hasil sintesa dengan menganalisis permukaan/ struktur mikro bahan dengan menggunakan mikroskop optik dan pengukuran rapat arus kritis (Jc) dengan menggunakan metode four- point -probes. Dari hasil analisis, sifat-sifat superkonduktor yang dihasilkan dari bahan hasil sintesa ini dimana, nilai arus kritis nol (Ic ) sebesar 29 mA; nilai arus kritis mid (Ic onset mid o 2 Cu ) sebesar 30,5 mA dan nilai arus kritis onset (Ic ) sebesar 32 mA dengan rapat arus kritis (Jc) pada suhu nitrogen cair (77 K) yang bersesuaian Jc o sebesar 0,97 Acm -2 ; Jc mid sebesar 1,02 Acm sebesar 1,07 Acm -2

      SMK 2 Mei Bandar Lampung yang mengusung konsep sekolah terpadu yang telah membuka 11 program keahlian. Pengelolaan data nilai adalah hal terpenting di setiap sekolah. Setiap habis semester para guru harus memberikan atau mengumpulkan nilai kepada staf TU untuk dikelola. Dimana nilai tersebut akan di distribusikan kepada siswa pada setiap semester. Namun untuk pengisian nilai saat ini pengolahan datanya masih dilakukan secara konvensional, yakni masih menggunakan sistem Excell yang kemudian ini membuat kesulitan petugas untuk mengelola data yang sudah diinput karena keterbatasan sistem untuk mensortir informasi data nilai sesuia kebutuhan. Selain itu penginputan data nilaipun sering terjadi kesalahan dalam terjadi duplikat nama nilai dan lain-lain. Dengan permasalah tersebut peneliti melakukan sebuah penelitian tentang pengisian nilai raport pada SMK 2 Mei Bandar Lampung. Dengan menggunakan metode extreme programming dan alat bantu pengembangan sistem berbasis UML (Unifeld Modelling Language), pengumpulan data dengan teknik berupa observasi, wawancara, studi pustaka, analisis sistem (activity diagram), desain sistem (use case diagram) perancangan database (class diagram), dan pembuatan sistem informasi pada pengisian nilai raport pada SMK 2 Mei Bandar Lampung Berbasis Java Web. Hasil akhir dari peneltian ini adalah sebuah Sistem informasi pengisian nilai raport pada SMK 2 Mei Bandar Lampung Berbasis Java Web sehingga dapat lebih baik dalam mengelola data nilai, sehingga guru, siswa dan bahkan orang tua bisa berinteraksi langsung dengan sistem dengan tujuan informasi data nilai dapat terdidtribusi dengan baik

    Inventory information system is a system used to enter inventory data into the database, so that there are no errors in input, output data, and reporting based on the desired data. based on surveys and interviews with jc comp personnel, information was obtained that the existing system in the jc comp warehouse section is still manual. therefore, the system that will be created by the author is the result of a replication of the existing system in the jc comp warehouse section. in addition to the process of input and output of goods, this information system is also equipped with features for creating data reports, input and output of goods, and searching for goods data by item name. with the inventory information system is expected to be useful for the warehouse parts jc comp.     WCC-JC 2.0: A Web-Crawled and Manually Aligned Parallel Corpus for Japanese-Chinese Neural Machine Translation

    Movie and TV subtitles are frequently employed in natural language processing (NLP) applications, but there are limited Japanese-Chinese bilingual corpora accessible as a dataset to train neural machine translation (NMT) models. In our previous study, we effectively constructed a corpus of a considerable size containing bilingual text data in both Japanese and Chinese by collecting subtitle text data from websites that host movies and television series. The unsatisfactory translation performance of the initial corpus, Web-Crawled Corpus of Japanese and Chinese (WCC-JC 1.0), was predominantly caused by the limited number of sentence pairs. To address this shortcoming, we thoroughly analyzed the issues associated with the construction of WCC-JC 1.0 and constructed the WCC-JC 2.0 corpus by first collecting subtitle data from movie and TV series websites. Then, we manually aligned a large number of high-quality sentence pairs. Our efforts resulted in a new corpus that includes about 1.4 million sentence pairs, an 87% increase compared with WCC-JC 1.0. As a result, WCC-JC 2.0 is now among the largest publicly available Japanese-Chinese bilingual corpora in the world. To assess the performance of WCC-JC 2.0, we calculated the BLEU scores relative to other comparative corpora and performed manual evaluations of the translation results generated by translation models trained on WCC-JC 2.0. As a key ingredient, we develop obstructions using L-2-theoretic methods for amenable groups in Strebel's class recently introduced by Orr and the author.     This article studies the dynamics in the formation processes of a mutual consent network in game theory setting: the Co-Author Model. In this article, a limited observation is applied and analytical results are derived. Then, 2 parameters are varied: the number of individuals in the network and the initial probability of the links in the network in its initial state.     Engineering Framework to Utilize Miniaturized Charpy Type SE(B) Specimens to Predict Jc of Full Sized Specimens

    AbstractThis paper introduces our experience of using miniature Charpy type SE(B) specimen in obtaining fracture toughness Jc of a material in the ductile to brittle transition temperature (DBTT) region. Width W x thickness B of 2 x 2 mm, 3 x 3 mm and 10 x 10 mm were chosen as miniature specimens and 25 x 25 mm were chosen as full sized specimen. 0.55% carbon steel JIS S55C, whose tensile to yield stress ratio σTS/σYS was equal to 1.8 was chosen as a material to simulate a degraded (embrittled) material in the DBTT region. Focus was placed on whether cleavage fracture could be predicted for these miniaturized specimens. Another focus was placed on whether the Jc of full sized specimen is predictable from the test results of the miniature sized specimens, in case cleavage fracture were observed. The results showed that the modified Ritch-Knott-Rice (RKR) failure criterion (which predicts the onset of cleavage fracture when the crack opening stress measured at 4 times the crack-tip opening displacement exceeds this σ22c) could predict whether cleavage fracture would occur or not. Another finding was that, in case cleavage fracture was observed though, the critical value σ22c in the modified RKR failure criterion was independent of specimen size, and thus, Jc of the full sized specimen is predictable from the miniature specimen test results, though M = (W-a)σYS/Jc was smaller than ASTM E1921 requirement of 30. Here, a and σYS are crack length and yield strength, respectively

    WCC-JC: A Web-Crawled Corpus for Japanese-Chinese Neural Machine Translation

    Currently, there are only a limited number of Japanese-Chinese bilingual corpora of a sufficient amount that can be used as training data for neural machine translation (NMT). In particular, there are few corpora that include spoken language such as daily conversation. In this research, we attempt to construct a Japanese-Chinese bilingual corpus of a certain scale by crawling the subtitle data of movies and TV series from the websites. We calculated the BLEU scores of the constructed WCC-JC (Web Crawled Corpus—Japanese and Chinese) and the other compared corpora. We also manually evaluated the translation results using the translation model trained on the WCC-JC to confirm the quality and effectiveness
