On education: John Ryder’s Relentless Mirror
This chapter focuses in the latest development of John Ryder's work, in which he offers himself as a philosopher of education. Ryder is seen as a political author, i.e., a thinker who moves mainly in the sphere of active judgment, in Buchlerian terms. His thinking is rooted in relational ontology. Therefore, in the initial parts of this paper the ontology is presented with the help of the relational concepts of Dewey and Buchler, who have influenced Ryder significantly. The final part deals with the Ryder’s forthcoming monograph Philosophy of Education: Thinking and Learning Through History and Practice. It emphasizes the use of important figures in the philosophy of education (Plato, Rousseau, Dewey, Freire), who serve as a field of tension that supports the relational approach. The concluding segment of the text is devoted mainly to equality, which in Ryder’s monograph is conceived as a relational matter of autonomy and community. © 2021 Central European Pragmatist Forum. The comparison of physics textbooks for basic schools
The thesis deals with the comparison of physics textbooks for primary schools. The purpose of this thesis is to determine the representation of individual sets of textbooks in primary schools in the South Bohemian Region, to develop and test custom teaching concepts revolving around thematic unit of 'Simple Machines'. This work is addressed primarily to teachers as a tool to enhance teaching effectiveness, to support the imagination and to increase interest in physics among pupils. These are the reasons why thematic unit, called Simple Machines, has been developed in form of interactive presentation, whose contribution and efficiency has been practically verified directly during physics classes in few selected primary schools. Benefits have been verified through accredited didactic tests and their evaluation and results are processed at the end of this thesis

Radim Palouš i Jozef Piaček, dwaj filozofowie o fenomenologicznych wątkach edukacji, synkrytycyzmie i filozofii zgodności
In the present article, the possibilities of teaching the philosophy of syncriticism and life of concordance as conditio humana and mediation of philosophical thinking to youth (students) and teachers in the era of ignorance (Konrad Paul Liessmann) are discussed. Using the philosophical concept of syncriticism, the author attempts to open and defend the otherness of philosophy in the system of education, justify its enriching and provocative dimension, its free-teaching time (Jan Patočka), life practice in building relationships and the authentic life of our everyday existence (Radim Palouš). In the philosophy of syncriticism and competence of concordance (Jozef Piaček) and in indifference to the future, we see the meaningfulness of philosophical education andfind its new possibilities and challenges concerning homo educandus.W przedkładanym tekście przedstawiamy refleksję z zakresu filozofii wychowania, rozumianego jako conditio humana, która może stać się refleksją nad możliwościami myślenia filozoficznego (kultywowania myślenia) wśród młodzieży w dobie ignorancji (Konrad Paul Liessmann).
An outline of special regimes of protection with respect to individual types of copyrighted works including a comparison with general protection
Radim Gelner Overview of specific modes of authorial work protection including the comparison with the general mode of protection - Diploma Thesis Summary In this thesis we analyze specific modes of protection of authorial works provided by the Czech Copyright Act 121/2000 Sb. as amended. These specific modes of protection are invoked either by the type of authorial work (for example computer programs) or by legal circumstances at the time the authorial work is created (for example existing employment relationship). In the first part of the thesis we discuss the parties of intellectual property relationships. Although the author is the primary party of such relationships there are other subjects as well such as heirs, employers, licensees, movie producers etc. We briefly describe the natural rights and the property rights of the author relating to the authorial work and modes of their transferral to other subjects of the intellectual property relationships. Then we follow up with the description of authorial work as a subject of intellectual property relationships. The legal definition of authorial work is provided and analyzed as well as specifics of various kinds of authorial works and modes of its creation (such as joint-authorship). In the third part we discuss the content of natural and property rights..
Neuroregeneration after spinal cord injury and in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis -possibilities for stem cell therapy
Adipose-derived MSC could be used as an alternative for bone marrow MSC in the treatment of acute SCI. We used the intraspinal grafting of rat adipose-derived naïve and predifferentiated MSC to improve motor function after a balloon-induced compression lesion of the rat spinal cord. Grafted cells survived for seven weeks after transplantation, improved motor activity and integrated into the host tissue. They expressed the oligodenrocyte precursor marker NG2 and, occasionally, the astrocytic marker GFAP, but did not transdifferentiate into a neuronal phenotype. Bone marrow MSC may change the disease course and extend lifespan in a rat model of ALS. Combined intraspinal and intravenous transplantation of rat BMSC was performed in symptomatic rats overexpressing the SOD1 G93A gene. Cell-treated animals lived longer compared with sham-treated rats and displayed significantly improved motor activity and grip strength. Rat BMSC survived until the end stage of the disease and were migrating along the white matter of the spinal cord. Grafted cells increased the number of host cells displaying positive staining for neurofilaments and significantly increased the number and also the size of the remaining spinal motoneurons 10-11 weeks after delivery, compared with vehicle-injection. The defragmentation of DNA, a sign..
Neurogenetic, biochemical and cognitive aspects of familial and sporadic forms of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis in the Czech population
Neurogenetic, biochemical and cognitive aspects of familial and sporadic forms of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis in the Czech population Abstract This thesis aims to highlight the pitfalls and risks of diagnosis and misdiagnosis in ALS and to evaluate the profile of genetic variants among Czech ALS patients. These data are still completely lacking and current therapeutic trends are directed towards gene-targeted treatment. The first main objective of the study is to evaluate the diagnostic parameters of tests determining the levels of light (NfL) and phosphorylated heavy (p-NfH) neurofilament chains in the cerebrospinal fluid and serum; especially in clinically difficult-to-distinguish situations. A secondary objective is to define the determinants of neurofilament levels. The second main objective is a pilot study on the frequency of genetic variants among Czech patients. A secondary objective is to find clinical predictors of a causal mutation. Our results have shown that in patients with a typical ALS phenotype, the diagnostic performance of both neurofilaments in the cerebrospinal fluid is very good and comparable to each other, and, therefore, can be used to support the diagnosis. On the other hand, variants with incomplete ALS phenotype or slow progression are associated with lower neurofilament..
