No full textIl volume ospita gli atti del convegno internazionale "Incontrarsi al limite. Ibridazioni mediterranee nell' Italia preromana", tenutosi a Ferrara dal 6 all' 8 giugno 2019 e dedicato a un filone di ricerca, i confini nel mondo classico, estremamente promettente per la comprensione dei processi di definizione degli spazi socio-economici e culturali in epoca antica. Il tema è affrontato in una prospettiva interpretativa che vede le aree liminali come sistemi aperti, di passaggio e quindi di contatto tra realtà diverse, di incontri avvenuti in luoghi essenzialmente fluidi che portano allo sviluppo di relazioni nuove e inedite e quindi di ibridazioni. Obiettivo del lavoro era ampliare il dibattito storiografico già avviato nel corso del 54 Convegno di Studi sulla Magna Grecia ("Ibridazione ed integrazione in Magna Grecia. Forme, modelli, dinamiche") ai contesti tirrenico e soprattutto adriatico dell' Italia preromana, aree queste in cui lo sviluppo della cultura greca non avvenne secondo il modello poleico, consentendo così di focalizzare maggiormente l' attenzione sui fenomeni di mobilità, fluidità e molteplicità di individui, risorse, pratiche e idee che coinvolsero tutto il Mediterraneo antico

No full textNumana e Ancona, approdi costieri situati a sud e a nord del promontorio del Conero, sono stati da sempre luoghi di frontiera e sedi privilegiate non solo di commerci ad ampio raggio, ma anche di incontri tra popoli e culture diverse. dopo un’introduzione sulle ricerche pregresse su questi aspetti, il contributo si focalizza sull’analisi della documentazione archeologica di età preromana databile principalmente tra Vi e iii sec. a.C., in gran parte inedita. L’indagine è condotta alla luce delle ricerche recentemente avviate sulle necropoli e sugli insediamenti di Numana e di Ancona e si incentra sui fenomeni di interazione culturale che si possono cogliere dall’analisi della ritualità funeraria e dei materiali di importazione e di produzione locale restituiti dai contesti abitativi e dalle necropoli

No full textdopo un breve inquadramento sulla città di spina, riconosciuta come ideale terreno di indagine ri- spetto al tema oggetto del convegno per la sua natura portuale, che la rese in antico crocevia dei traf- fici e dei contatti adriatici, l’intervento mira ad approfondire l’analisi del fenomeno dell’interazione culturale in questo contesto da varie prospettive. in particolare si intende indagare questo aspetto cul- turale attraverso approcci distinti, tra loro interconnessi: la cultura epigrafica greca e la cultura mate- riale riferita a questo milieu culturale, che offre la possibilità di investigare la mobilità di persone e di oggetti, e in particolare le modalità di ricezione e rielaborazione tra mondo greco e mondo etrusco; l’analisi del rituale funerario, attraverso il quale è possibile affrontare il problema della definizione di pratiche rituali l’indagine iconografica, pur nella difficoltà di pervenire con certezza ad una effettiva possibilità di valutare a pieno il fenomeno.After a brief overview on the Etruscan city of Spina, recognized as an ideal field of investi- gation for its nature of port of trade with regard to the topic of the Conference, the contribution aims to deepen the analysis of the phenomenon of cultural interaction in this urban context from various perspectives. This aspect will be investigate through distinct but interconnected ap- proaches: the Greek epigraphic and material culture, which offers the possibility of investigat- ing the mobility of people and objects, and in particular the ways of reception and elaboration between the Greek world and the Etruscan world; the analysis of the funerary ritual, through which it is possible to tackle the problem of defining ritual practices; the iconographic analysis, despite the difficulty of reaching with certainty an effective possibility of fully evaluating the phe- nomenon
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Full text linkThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
Full text link“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Full text linkWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. No full textLa produzione scultorea (sia in bronzo che in marmo) nel mondo greco-romano era un'attività estremamente pratica, artigianale, legata a metodi di lavorazione che si tramandavano, un sapere tecnico che faceva di questi mansioni dei veri e propri mestieri. Nella cultura antica, più che di artisti si parla di artigiani, persone che esercitavano la techne, che svolgevano attività banausiche, che lavoravamo con le mani. Luoghi di produzione, strumenti, tecniche e schemi lavorativi, sono ben attestati dalle fonti scritte e dalle evidenze archeologiche.
Molte maestranze erano itineranti, di norma gli artigiani scultori seguivano le committenze, trasferendosi di volta in volta là dove venivano chiamati e aumentando il loro grado di celebrità. La mobilità era una componente essenziale nella professione dello scultore che contribuì -soprattutto nel mondo romano- non solo alla condivisione della pratiche ma anche alla circolazione e alla diffusione di differenti modelli artistici
