Bazı Gelişmiş Ülkeler İle Nijer’de Sınıf Öğretmenlerinin Eğitimi Ve İstihdamı Konusunda Karşılaştırmalı Bir Analiz
No full textThis study is a comparative study between some developed countries and Republic of Niger about training and employment conditions of primary school teachers. The study aimed to identify strengths and weaknesses of the training and employment conditions of primary school teachers and identify similarities and differences between the practices of Singapore, South Korea, Finland, Poland, Ireland and Turkey and Niger. In this context, the main sources about the overview of the selected developed countries and Niger, the pre-service and in-service teacher education and employment conditions of teachers working in primary schools were analyzed. The countries were selected for their high performance in the PISA 2012 results and for having successful policies in teacher training and employment and Turkey was selected as one of OECD member countries. As results, the similarities and differences have been fund between the countries’ practices. It is viewed that all selected developed countries upgraded the level of the pre-service education to higher education. Therefore, Singapore, South Kore and Finland used strict competition with focus on interview for selecting high quality candidates. Beside the autonomy and responsibility entrusted to teachers in these countries, material and moral incentives are provided to teachers in the framework to keep a teaching profession among the most respected professions in the society. The workloads of teachers are reduced and the necessary leave and financial support are provided to ensure their continuing professional development. Finally, in the light of obtained results the suggestions for the above mentioned practices were recommended for Niger.Öz ii

Bu çalışmada, seçilmiş bazı gelişmiş ülkelerin öğretmen yetiştirme ve istihdam uygulamaları ile Nijer’in sınıf öğretmeni yetiştirme ve istihdam uygulamaları karşılaştırılmıştır. Bu çerçevede, Singapur, Güney Kore, Finlandiya, Polonya, İrlanda, Türkiye ve Nijer’de sınıf öğretmenlerinin yetiştirilmesi, istihdamı ve sürekli mesleki gelişimi konularında temel kaynaklar incelenerek, benzerlik ve farklıkları ortaya konulmuştur. Çalışma kapsamında yer alan OECD ülkeleri, PISA 2012 sınavında yüksek performans gösteren ve öğretmen yetiştirme ve istihdamında başarılı bir politikaya sahip olma ölçütleri göz önünde bulundurularak seçilmiştir. Ayrıca, Türkiye OECD üyesi olarak araştırmaya dâhil edilmiştir. Araştırmada seçilmiş ülkeler ile ilgi genel bakış, sınıf öğretmenlerie verilen hizmet öncesi eğitimi, çalışma koşulları ve sürekli mesleki gelişim konuları ile ilgili verilerin elde edilmesi amacıyla doküman incelemesi yapılmış ve elde edilen veriler karşılaştırmalı eğitim analizi yöntemiyle çözümlenmiştir. Analizler sonucunda ülkeler arasında farlılık ve benzerlikler gözlemlenmiştir. Hizmet öncesi eğitimi ile ilgili gelişmiş ülkelerde, öğretmen yeterliliğinin geliştirilmesi için öğretmen yetiştirme kurumlarının yükseköğretime devredilmiştir. Öğretmenlik eğitim programına yüksek nitelikli adayları seçilebilmek için Singapur, Güney Kore ve Finlandiya’da sıkı bir eleme kullanıldığı ve mülakata önem verildiği gözlemlenmiştir. Gelişmiş ülkelerde öğretmenlerin istihdam koşulları kapsamında öğretmenlere işlerinde giderek özerklik tanındığı ve sorumluluk verildiği gözlenmiştir. Öğretmenliğin, toplum nezdinde saygın bir meslek olarak görülmeye devam etmesi için devlet tarafından gereken maddi ve manevi destek sağlanmaya çalışıldığı görülmüştür. Gelişmiş ülkelerde öğretmenlerin sürekli mesleki gelişim katılabilmeleri için haftalık iş yüklerinin azaltıldığı, gereken izin ve maddi desteği sağlandığı saptanmıştır. Çalışmanın sonunda, elde edilen bulgular doğrultusunda Nijer için yukarıda belirtilen uygulamalar ile ilgili öneriler sunulmuştur

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature.
