An effectivization of the global reconstruction in the Gel'fand-Calderon inverse problem in three dimensions
International audienceBy developing the d-bar approach to global "inverse scattering" at zero energy we give a principal effectivization of the global reconstruction method for the Gel'fand-Calderon inverse boundary value problem in three dimensions. This work goes back to results published by the author in 1987, 1988 and proceeds from recent progress in the d-bar approach to inverse scattering in 3D published by the author in 2005, 2006
Importancia, significado y participación en la escolarización en zonas rurales Un estudio etnográfico en Michoacán, México
This article analyzes the importance, meaning and social participation within the schooling process amongst rural settlers in a community of Michoacán, Mexico. It is actually the result of the research carried out to obtain a PhD during which the author analyzed how low-income families take part into their formal and informal education. The main discoveries of this research show that in spite of their lowinstruction levels, the parents support their children so they can achieve basic education. Nevertheless, because of their low income, only few families can support their children’s schooling for further education levels. The discoveries linked with formal education show that the educational service offered by the CONAFE in their community does not offer satisfaction to most of the parents, who prefer to enroll their children in the Ministry of Education (SEP)’s rural schools. The conclusions add some suggestions and advices oriented to improve the quality and pertinence of the CONAFE’s Community Education Program
Calderon-Zygmund estimates for a class of quasilinear elliptic equations
In this paper we obtain the following local Calderon-Zygmund estimates B(|f|) epsilon L-loc(q)(Omega)B(|del(u)|) epsilon L-loc(q)(O)for any q >= 1 of weak solutions for a class of quasilinear elliptic equations div (a(|del u|)del u)=div(a(|f|)f)in Omega, where B(t)=integral(t)(0) tau a(tau) d tau for t >= 0 (C) 2016 Elsevier Inc. Previous issue date: 1994"This dissertation tries to understand why Calderon used so frequently Greek-Roman mythology in his court plays, instead of dramatizing other literary subjects. A detailed analysis of the reasons that determined such a choice has allowed us to study certain aspects of the plays quite omitted by critics. In general, myth provides Calderon with many advantages; first of all, a story to tell, to put into music and to represent with spectacular effects; secondly, a stratification of symbolic meanings and, finally, the possibility to play with allusive language. More specifically, it offers the ideal context of luxury to celebrate the kings who commissioned the plays, since it can refer to them at many different levels, in a constant game of mirrors that mixes the audience's reality with the fiction represented on the stage. At the same time, through mythography and emblematic tradition, it provides Calderon with an inventory of exemplary stories, ready to be used for didactic purposes. Without involving the historical background, as various critics have proposed, the playwright creates a sort of dramatic ""empresa"" which expresses in a coded way the moral and political precepts found in contemporary treatises such as that of Saavedra Fajardo."From an aesthetic point: of view, ancient mythology is also extremely functional to the author's dramatic craftmanship. In particular, the present study analyzes his use of the words monstruo and centro, which appear with an obsessive frequency in don Pedro's works. With the monsters and its derivations the court writer is able to create images peculiarly baroque in their oddity and exuberance. Concerning the centro, the range of possibilities which the author plays with is also extremely various. This fact is very significant for an author who lives in a decentered cultural context. These three detailed forays into Calderon's mythological world allow us to verify that his occasional plays, far from being mere court entertainments, belong in every respect to his dramatic universe. At the same time, it makes possible to establish that if don Pedro's fiestas present a conjunctural dimension, this does not concern any contemporary event, but just refers to the sixteenth-century disenchantment. Classical myth represents for the poet an irreplaceable tool that perfectly serves his courtly obligations and the universality of his dramatic craftmanship.Restriction data tranferred 2014-07-01T11:16:55-05:00

A Search for Identity: Frances Calderon de la Barca and Life in Mexico
Scottish-born Frances Calderon de la Barca, wife of the first Spanish minister to Mexico, recorded her observations and interpretations of mid-nineteenth century Mexico in a series of letters and journals. In 1843, she published Life in Mexico, an edited version of her letters. Acclaimed for its style and descriptive qualities, Life in Mexico also reveals the author\u27s personal struggle to define herself and her role in Mexican society. Life in Mexico provides historians with a unique perspective into Mexico\u27s cultural and ideological relationship with the European and American world
Price caps, efficiency payoffs, and infrastructure contract renegotiation in Latin America
Twenty years ago, as the United Kingdom was getting ready to launch the privatization of its public services, Professor Littlechild developed and operationalized the concept of price caps as a regulatory regime to control for residual monopoly conditions in those services. Ten years later, Latin American countries, as they embarked into their own infrastructure reforms, also adopted the price cap regulatory model. Relying on a large data base on the factors driving contract renegotiation in the region and a survey of the literature on efficiency gains, the authors assess the impact of this regulatory regime in Latin America. They show that while the expected efficiency gains were amply achieved, these gains were seldom passed on to the users. Instead they were shared by the government and the firms. Moreover, the adoption of price caps implied higher costs of capital and hence, tariffs, and brought down levels of investment.International Terrorism&Counterterrorism,Decentralization,Labor Policies,Banks&Banking Reform,Environmental Economics&Policies,Banks&Banking Reform,Environmental Economics&Policies,International Terrorism&Counterterrorism,Water Supply and Sanitation Participation,Community Participation in Water Supply and Sanitation

Kebijakan Prevent And Punish Trade In People Oleh Presiden Felipe Calderon Terhadap Human Trafficking Di Perbatasan Meksiko-Amerika Serikat (2006-2012)
Human Trafficking has become a common phenomenon that occurs in many countries of the world. One of them is on the Mexican-American border. Human trafficking is a crime by recruitment, selling, buying, moving, and hiding a person or group by the use of force, threats, fraud, and coercion. There have been many victims in this cycle of human trafficking. The Mexican state in the administration of President Felipe Calderon in 2007 took steps to deal with human trafficking as outlined in the Prevent and Punish Trade in People Policy. The purpose of this study is to find out how the implementation of the Prevent And Punish Trade In People Policy conducted by President Felipe Calderon against human trafficking in Mexico-United States border in 2006-2012. The author uses qualitative descriptive research method and the type of data collection is secondary data through literature research. The author uses using the concept of Human Trafficking, Policy, and Human Rights. The final results of this study show how the Prevent and Punish Trade in People policies are implemented
Valorizzare i luoghi del territorio. Il progetto del paesaggio e il progetto del restauro.
This works contains the results of a scientific and educational project research conducted by the author in order to contribute to a renewed culture of design of architectural, urban and environmental restoration. The speech begins with the events leading to the formation of the term “landscape” and the matu ration of its meaning, to get to shape the landscape as a fundamental expression of the culture of man in his relationship with nature and history. The landscape is presented as a reality that must be recognized in their values in order to be protected; preserving its tangible and intangible characteristics; while taking into account the evolution projecting transformations of useful adaptation, which
allow the territory to become a real resource for the community that inhabits
it. Operationally, the methodological identity between landscape projects and
restoration is introduced, identifying the concept of valuation defined by Italian
law on cultural heritage, according to European conventions consistent with
