The Tratturo Magno: structural analysis for the identification of enhancement areas.
Today, the ancient routes of transhumance (Tratturi) represent an inestimable historical and cultural heritage. This fact is underlined by its inclusion in the list of Intangible Cultural Heritage of UNESCO (2019). Moreover, from the first decades of the last century, the strong migration from the Italian internal areas has caused a slow and inexorable decline of transhumance with the Tratturi’s abandonment. Consequently, Tratturi have been deeply transformed. This paper traces the evolution of the territorial transformation that erodes the historical and cultural identity of the Tratturo Magno, with particular attention to the residual patches on which recovery and enhancement interventions can be proposed
Il Tratturo Magno L’Aquila Foggia. Stato dell’arte, criticità e potenzialità The Tratturo Magno L’Aquila Foggia. State of the art, criticalities and potentiality
During the last years, interest in the theme of the “Tratturo” has gradually grown, fueling different types of initiatives: beyond tourist and cultural events, aimed at knowledge of history and at the enhancement of local resources, we assisted at the diffusion of studies coming mainly from public offices and universities, which have analyzed the issue from a scientific, technical and infrastructural point of view, as well as socio-cultural. Almost all the researches have analyzed the cognitive aspects and the historical and cultural evolution of the phenomenon of transhumance, in order to deepen the preliminary phase of knowledge and reconstruct the track layout, lost over the years. On the other hand, the growing interest in global sustainability has given rise to important ideas for re-projecting the route as a modern infrastructure. In this article we present the main studies with original extracts, objectives, results and criticalities in order to identify not yet explored themes
Per conoscenza, culto, lavoro: viaggiatori e pellegrini in cammino per l’Abruzzo
The Abruzzo region represents a relevant example for the presence of a dense network, ancient and modern, of cultural and sacred paths that coexist and often coincide with the network of sheep tracks that linked Abruzzo and Molise to Puglia. Itineraries covered by travellers and pilgrims animated, for their education and culture, by different expectations and emotions, but united by the idea of travel as a fundamental moment of their life: an opportunity for independent research, full of active and socializing participation, from which will come back enriched.
The testimonies of educated travellers in Abruzzo underline the role and meaning to go by foot or on the back of a mule, as well as the importance of welcome, hospitality or toughness of the peasants and shepherds and beauty of the surrounding landscape. Mass tourism and strong urbanization risk upsetting this delicate and intrigued network; a legacy to be recognized and safeguarded to provide a full awareness the European pilgrim-wayfarer
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Manufatti ecosostenibili per le aree di sosta lungo i percorsi naturalistici. Eco-sustainable products for rest areas along natural courses
The growing interest in outdoor excursions, as well as the attention to the rediscovery of natural beauties, has generated a significant increase in tourist presences in mountain resorts in recent years. In fact, guided hikes, road and off-road cycling, country horse riding, etc ... are becoming more and more frequent; sporting activities often practiced along the ancient roads that structure the natural territories and which are often an integral part of the system of "tratturi" present in the central Apennines. This scenario, strongly connected to the conscious use of natural contexts, has encouraged public administrations as well as environmental associations to start an intense recovery activity of the system of nature trails in the area. This circumstance has highlighted the need to create, along these routes, an organic system of rest areas necessary to guarantee the refreshment and shelter of hikers. The aim is to protect the historical and environmental values in the various natural contexts that have their own peculiarities with respect to the geographical areas to which they belong. For these reasons, the inclusion of a structured system of rest areas to support the excursions practiced along the "tratturi", the "paths", the "cycle paths" or the "bridleways" present in the territory of internal Abruzzo, as an action also aimed at recovering local peculiarities with a view to protecting and enhancing these contexts
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship

Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Finally, we show by means of an example that our findings have a high practical relevance.information science;Pearson correlation;cosine;similarity measure;author cocitation analysis
