I recipienti di bronzo in Italia settentrionale tra IV e I secolo a.C. e il caso del territorio veronese : Quadro generale = Bronaste posode v severni Italiji med 4. in 1. stoletjem pr. n. št. in primer veronskega območja [Bronze vessels in northern Italy between the 4th and the 1st century BC. A case study of the Verona area]
Bronze vessels constitute a particular class of domestic vessels that were made for long-term use, to be handed
down through generations. This makes them chronologically less sensitive items, but also items that reflect both status
and behavioural practices.
The archaeological evidence from northern Italy suggests at least three main phases of use of bronze vessel between
388 BC and the Augustan period, which can be paralleled with the chronological division of the La Tène period. The
contribution provides an interpretative overview of the evidence in an attempt to show the continuity, persistence and
innovation in the production of individual forms and types of the bronze vessels.
The area of Verona is an interesting case study for understanding the distribution of Hellenistic and Late Republican
bronze vessels, because it has yielded at least 150 examples so far, dating from the 4th/3rd century BC to the Augustan
period, that have mostly been recovered from funerary contexts.
The contribution looks at the concentration of these items at some sites (Povegliano in particular) and their ties to a
particular social rank. It also supplies a list of the bronze vessels from the area, mainly compiled during the reorganization
of the collections in the Museo Archeologico di Verona conducted in the last two decades

Leukotrienes: lipid bioeffectors of inflammatory reactions
The leukotrienes arise from oxidative metabolism of arachidonic acid through the action of the 5-lipoxy- genase enzyme, leading to the unstable allylic epoxide leukotriene A4. This intermediate represents the substrate for two different specific enzymes, namely leukotriene A4-hydrolase and leukotriene C4-synthase, generating LTB4 and cysteinyl leukotrienes, respectively. The name "leukotriene" is referring to the cellular source (leukocytes are one of the major sources) as well as the conjugated triene that characterizes their structure. LTC4 and LTD4 are potent contracting agents of smooth muscle in airways and blood vessels; in addition, they induce mucus secretion and promote plasmatic exudation with direct action on endothelial cells. On the other side, LTB4 is known as a potent chemokinetic and chemotactic agent. A number of evidences reported in the literature underline the potential role of leukotrienes in the inflammatory responses that characterize asthma and other pathological conditions. These potent lipid bioeffectors are synthesized during the course of inflammatory reactions and their pharmacological modulation is able to significantly attenuate the clinical manifestations associated with different inflammatory pathologies

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
