    Transient permeability induced by alkyl derivatives of amphotericin B in lipid membranes

    AbstractIndividual ionic channels were shown to be formed in the brain cholesterol containing phospholipid membranes by two-sided addition of the amphotericin B alkyl derivatives. At concentrations between 10−8 and 10−7 M, the resulting conductance appeared to be transient. Existence of different antibiotic assemblies was justified by the kinetic analysis of the membrane conductance decline following the antibiotic washing out. In order to account for the transient characteristics of the induced conductance, it was proposed that the antibiotic oligomers incorporate into the membrane from the aqueous phase, form channels aggregating with cholesterol, and then dissociate in the bilayer into non-active degraded oligomeric or monomeric forms

    Analyzing the Draft Federal Budget of Russia for 2021–2023: Sources of Financing and Mechanism of Overcoming Finance Challenges

    The subject of the research is global processes dealing with pandemic. Measures aimed at curbing the corona-virus infection spread caused an unprecedented decline in economic activity in the world and in Russia, resulted in a serious drop in raw material and finance markets, decrease in revenues of budgets and incomes of people. The article analyzes key figures of the draft federal budget for 2021 and the planned period of 2022–2023. The focus is made on social obligations of the federal budget for the planned period, which are not subjected to sequestrating and dynamics of sequestrating federal budget expenses on national projects financing in 2021–2022 is given. The article shows key lines in implementing the program of mobilizing the profit part of the federal budget. The author proposed one way of overcoming finance challenges on the regional level, i.e. the card system of food distribution. In this context the article provides the overseas and home experience in theory and practice of the issue, gives ideas of Russian economists – supporters and opponents of social food cards. Designing budget on the basis of mentioned-above approaches could support economy in the period of restoration and promote reaching the national goals of development, i. e. the growth in real incomes of the population, cutting the level of poverty, providing conditions for healthy, comfortable life of Russian citizens

    Experimental generation and characterization of Devil's vortex-lenses

    We propose the first experimental approach for both generation and characterization of high quality Devil's vortex-lenses. These new type of lenses, able to produce a sequence of optical vortices, are addressed onto a programmable spatial light modulator (SLM) operating in phase-only modulation. The static aberrations arising by the lack of flatness of the SLM display are characterized and mostly compensated by using a Shack - Hartmann wavefront sensor.     Tailored optical propulsion forces for controlled transport of resonant gold nanoparticles and associated thermal convective fluid flows

The Spanish Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación is acknowledged for Project PGC2018-095595-B-I00.Optofluidics: Light forces for controlling heat nanosources and fluid flows New opportunities for controlling the motion of laser-heated gold nanoparticles and the associated convection currents in the surrounding fluid are achieved by using tailored light forces. The procedure has been developed by Jose Rodrigo and colleagues at the Complutense University of Madrid. It is based on illuminating nanospheres at wavelengths that create resonant oscillations in surface electrons, a phenomenon known as plasmon resonance. This allows sufficient absorbance of light for the nanospheres to become a heat source. The tailored light forces gave fine control over the direction and speed of the hot nanospheres, both individually and in groups. The refined ability to form, merge and split clusters of nanoparticles could offer new applications in optofluidics-the science of controlling fluids and materials they contain with light. Noble metal nanoparticles illuminated at their plasmonic resonance wavelength turn into heat nanosources. This phenomenon has prompted the development of numerous applications in science and technology. Simultaneous optical manipulation of such resonant nanoparticles could certainly extend the functionality and potential applications of optothermal tools. In this article, we experimentally demonstrate optical transport of single and multiple resonant nanoparticles (colloidal gold spheres of radius 200 nm) directed by tailored transverse phase-gradient forces propelling them around a 2D optical trap. We show how the phase-gradient force can be designed to efficiently change the speed of the nanoparticles. We have found that multiple hot nanoparticles assemble in the form of a quasi-stable group whose motion around the laser trap is also controlled by such optical propulsion forces. This assembly experiences a significant increase in the local temperature, which creates an optothermal convective fluid flow dragging tracer particles into the assembly. Thus, the created assembly is a moving heat source controlled by the propulsion force, enabling indirect control of fluid flows as a micro-optofluidic tool. The existence of these flows, probably caused by the temperature-induced Marangoni effect at the liquid water/superheated water interface, is confirmed by tracking free tracer particles migrating towards the assembly. We propose a straightforward method to control the assembly size, and therefore its temperature, by using a nonuniform optical propelling force that induces the splitting or merging of the group of nanoparticles.     Цифровые музыкальные коллекции национальных и крупнейших публичных библиотек немецкоязычных стран

    The article presents the brief description of freely available selected digital music collections of the national and largest public libraries of German-speaking countries: Austria, Belgium, Germany and Switzerland. The author studies the main stages of the historical formation of musical culture in the German-speaking environment, chronologically correlated with the brilliant names of composers, founders and recognized authorities of the classical music school. As an illustrative material, the author gives diagrams with quantitative characteristics of the distribution of digital content by the types and quantity of documents, as well as personalities of composers. The paper provides current links to resources and thematic portals created by libraries within the framework of sectoral collaboration.National and major public libraries collect and store documentary heritage, including musical collections, which differ by the type diversity of documents. Digital collections generated by libraries based on their own priorities and technical capabilities contribute to the physical preservation of documents. Digital music collections act as promoters of the great heritage of the classical music school, which has received recognition on the world musical Olympus. For the first time, the paper considers the combined heritage of the classical music school of the national and the largest German-language libraries of free access. Thanks to modern technologies of document digitisation, the use of thermographic camera (for reproducing filigree signs), creation of comfortable interface in language understandable to user, libraries expand the audience of researchers, going beyond the country, contribute to conducting scientific research in a remote format. Libraries are becoming a progressive, democratic platform and an equal partner of the world scientific community and at the same time receive additional funding for the implementation of the next ambitious projects.Дается краткая характеристика размещенных в свободном доступе избранных цифровых музыкальных коллекций национальных и крупнейших публичных библиотек немецкоязычных стран: Австрии, Бельгии, Швейцарии, Германии. Исследуются основные этапы исторического становления музыкальной культуры на немецкоязычном пространстве, хронологически соотносимые с именами блистательных композиторов, основоположников и признанных авторитетов классической музыкальной школы. В качестве иллюстративного материала приведены диаграммы с количественными характеристиками распределения цифрового контента по виду и количеству документов, персоналиям композиторов. Даны актуальные ссылки на ресурсы и тематические порталы, созданные библиотеками в рамках отраслевой коллаборации.Национальные и крупнейшие публичные библиотеки собирают и хранят в фондах документальное наследие, включая музыкальные фонды, отличающиеся видовым многообразием документов. Цифровые коллекции, генерируемые библиотеками исходя из собственных приоритетов и технических возможностей, способствуют физической сохранности документов. Цифровые музыкальные коллекции выступают пропагандистами великого наследия классической музыкальной школы, получившей признание на мировом музыкальном олимпе. Впервые рассматривается совокупное наследие классической музыкальной школы национальных и крупнейших библиотек немецкоязычных стран, размещенное в свободном доступе. Благодаря современным технологиям оцифровки документов, использованию термографической камеры (для воспроизведения филигранных знаков), созданию комфортного интерфейса на понятном пользователю языке, библиотеки расширяют аудиторию исследователей, выходя за пределы страны, способствуют проведению научных изысканий в удаленном формате. Библиотеки становятся прогрессивной, демократической площадкой и равноправным партнером мирового научного сообщества и одновременно получают возможность дополнительного финансирования для реализации следующих амбициозных проектов

    Diversity and evolution of coral fluorescent proteins

    GFP-like fluorescent proteins (FPs) are the key color determinants in reef-building corals (class Anthozoa, order Scleractinia) and are of considerable interest as potential genetically encoded fluorescent labels. Here we report 40 additional members of the GFP family from corals. There are three major paralogous lineages of coral FPs. One of them is retained in all sampled coral families and is responsible for the non-fluorescent purple-blue color, while each of the other two evolved a full complement of typical coral fluorescent colors (cyan, green, and red) and underwent sorting between coral groups. Among the newly cloned proteins are a “chromo-red” color type from Echinopora forskaliana (family Faviidae) and pink chromoprotein from Stylophora pistillata (Pocilloporidae), both evolving independently from the rest of coral chromoproteins. There are several cyan FPs that possess a novel kind of excitation spectrum indicating a neutral chromophore ground state, for which the residue E167 is responsible (numeration according to GFP from A. victoria). The chromoprotein from Acropora millepora is an unusual blue instead of purple, which is due to two mutations: S64C and S183T. We applied a novel probabilistic sampling approach to recreate the common ancestor of all coral FPs as well as the more derived common ancestor of three main fluorescent colors of the Faviina suborder. Both proteins were green such as found elsewhere outside class Anthozoa. Interestingly, a substantial fraction of the all-coral ancestral protein had a chromohore apparently locked in a non-fluorescent neutral state, which may reflect the transitional stage that enabled rapid color diversification early in the history of coral FPs. Our results highlight the extent of convergent or parallel evolution of the color diversity in corals, provide the foundation for experimental studies of evolutionary processes that led to color diversification, and enable a comparative analysis of structural determinants of different colors.<br/

    By methods of physical and chemical analysis, the mode of synthesis of compounds LaBvTe3 (Bv-Sb, Bi) indirectly was established. It has been established that the compound LaBvTe3 crystallizes in the tetradymite structural type with space group D3d5-R3m, hexagonal cell parameters for LaSbTe3 a= 4.24Å, b=30.64Å, c/a=7.1 and for LaBiTe3 a= 4.36Å b=30.70Å, s/a=7.04 It was revealed that they are narrow-gap n-type semiconductors, for LaSbTe3 ΔE=0.18 eV; dpykn.=6.62 g/cm3, drent.=6.69 g/cm3, Hμ=2110 MPa and for LaBiTe3 ΔE=0.21 eV, dpykn.=7.15 g/cm3, drent/=7.20 g/cm3, Hμ= 1955MP
