No full textThe prospects of a direct extraction of the proton's gluon density in next-to-leading order via jet rates in deeply inelastic scattering are studied. The employed method is based on the Mellin transform, and can be applied, in principle, to all infra-red-safe observables of hadronic final states. We investigate the dependence of the error band on the extracted gluon distribution on the statistical and systematic error of the data. Total and phosphorylated tau proteins: Evaluation as core biomarker candidates in frontotemporal dementia
Get PDFAn ever increasing number of patients with neurodegenerative disorders calls for the evaluation of potential diagnostic markers that allow an early diagnosis and an early initiation of specific therapy. Clinical diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease (AD), the most common neurodegenerative disorder, reaches 80-90% accuracy upon autopsy in specialized clinical centers. Diagnosis of AD in early clinical or preclinical stages is far less accurate, as is the differential diagnosis between AD and other primary dementias, such as frontotemporal dementia (FTD). Microtubule-associated tau protein is abnormally phosphorylated in AD and aggregates as paired helical filaments in neurofibrillary tangles. Recently, immunoassays have been developed detecting tau phosphorylated at specific epitopes in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF). Four years of clinical research consistently demonstrate that CSF phosphorylated tau (p-tau) is highly increased in AD compared to healthy controls and may differentiate AD from its most relevant differential diagnoses. Tau phosphorylated at threonine 231 (p-tau(231)) shows excellent differentiation between AD and FTD, whereas serine 181 (p-tau(181)) enhances accurate differentiation between AD and dementia with Lewy bodies. Moreover, p-tau(231) levels decline with disease progression, correlating with cognitive performance at baseline. Total tau (t-tau) is regarded as a general marker of neurodegeneration for evaluation in future population-based studies. p-tau(231) and p-tau(181) yield excellent discrimination between AD and non-AD dementias including FTD, exceeding the differential diagnostic and prognostic accuracy of t-tau. No full textPencilan merupakan pengamatan yang nilainya jauh lebih besar atau jauh lebih kecil dari pusat data. Pencilan tersebut tidak boleh dihilangkan karena membawa informasi yang tidak dapat dijelaskan oleh pengamatan lain. Apabila data mengandung pencilan maka cara penanganan dapat dianalisis dengan menggunakan regresi robust. Pada regresi robust terdapat banyak penduga, salah satunya yaitu robust-M. Di dalam regresi robust-M terdapat fungsi pembobot yang berperan memberi bobot berbeda-beda pada setiap sisaan. Macam-macam pembobot tersebut yaitu Ramsay, Tukey Bisquare, Andrew, Fair, Welsch, Huber dan Hampel. Tujuan penelitian yaitu membandingkan kebaikan model yang dihasilkan oleh regresi robust-M dengan pembobot Huber, pembobot Hampel dan pembobot Ramsay pada persentase tingkat kemiskinan Kabupaten/Kota Provinsi Jawa Timur pada tahun 2013. Hasil penelitian didapatkan 7 daerah yang merupakan pencilan berpengaruh atau pengamatan berpengaruh pada persentase tingkat kemiskinan di Jawa Timur tahun 2013 yaitu Kabupaten Malang, Kabupaten Jember, Kabupaten Probolinggo, Kabupaten Bangkalan, Kabupaten Sampang, Kota Pasuruan dan Kota Surabaya. Model regresi robust-M dengan pembobot Ramsay lebih baik digunakan untuk data persentase tingkat kemiskinan di Jawa Timur pada tahun 2013 karena menghasilkan nilai RMSE dan AIC paling kecil yaitu 2.678 dan 2.55

No full textThe sculpture Norma was created in the USA in the 1940s in the field of tension between what something is and what something should be. Around eight decades later, the Israeli choreographer and director Saar Magal thematises Norma in her dance piece 10 Odd Emotions. Stefanie Hampel first looks at the materialisation of what was considered ‘normal’ at the time and analyses the sculptures Norma and Normman by Abram Belskie and Robert Latou Dickinson from 1943. Against the backdrop of Saar Magal's piece 10 Odd Emotions, the author explores the questions of what deconstructive, media-specific potential theatre has here and how human bodies are (re)arranged on stage.PublishedIm Spannungsfeld des Normalen – zwischen dem, wie etwas ist, und dem, wie etwas sein soll – entsteht in den USA der 1940er Jahre die Skulptur Norma.
