A 10 fJ·K 2Wheatstone Bridge Temperature Sensor with a Tail-Resistor-Linearized OTA
This article describes a highly energy-efficient Wheatstone bridge temperature sensor. To maximize sensitivity, the bridge is made from resistors with positive (silicided diffusion) and negative (poly) temperature coefficients. The bridge is balanced by a resistive (poly) FIR-DAC, which is part of a 2nd-order continuous-time delta-sigma modulator (CT Δ Σ M). Each stage of the modulator is based on an energy-efficient current-reuse OTA. To efficiently suppress quantization noise foldback, the 1st stage OTA employs a tail-resistor linearization scheme. Sensor accuracy is enhanced by realizing the poly arms of the bridge and the DAC from identical unit elements. Fabricated in a 180-nm CMOS technology, the sensor draws 55 μ W from a 1.8-V supply and achieves a resolution of 150 μ K rms in an 8-ms conversion time. This translates into a state-of-the-art resolution figure-of-merit (FoM) of 10 fJ · K2. Furthermore, the sensor achieves an inaccuracy of ±0.4 °C (3 σ) from -55 °C to 125 °C after a ratio-based one-point trim and systematic non-linearity removal, which improves to ±0.1 °C (3 σ) after a 1st-order fit.Green Open Access added to TU Delft Institutional Repository ‘You share, we take care!’ – Taverne project https://www.openaccess.nl/en/you-share-we-take-care Otherwise as indicated in the copyright section: the publisher is the copyright holder of this work and the author uses the Dutch legislation to make this work public.Electronic InstrumentationMicroelectronic
Ota Pavels sagovärld [Elektronisk resurs] : Biografiska, narratologiska och språkliga perspektiv på Ota Pavels författarskap
AbstractThe present dissertation analyzes the role of the fairy tale in the literary works of the Czech author Ota Pavel. Ota Pavel (1930–1973) started as a sports reporter and later became a popular and esteemed writer of fiction, mainly short stories. His works have been translated to many languages, among them Swedish. The study consists of a biographical reading of Ota Pavel’s texts and a discussion of the function of the fairy tale in his stories. My analysis of his literary development and use of various prose elements is based on narratological theories of the fairy tale – Karel Čapek’s motifs and fairytale characters, Gérard Genette’s paratexts and Vladimir Propp’s functions and dramatis personae – and includes remarks on the function of diminutives, etc. Ota Pavel is also viewed in the context of the literary landscape of his time – the 1960s and 1970s – and the reception of his work is discussed.Pavel’s stories contain a number of characteristic features which together form his unique style: direct allusions and references to fairy tales--for example, fairies and witches – and the linguistic markers and distinctive use of the narrator’s voice. One of the most common characters in Ota Pavel’s work is the hero, who, often with the assistance of magical objects or supernatural helpers, defeats supernatural antagonists or solves impossible tasks. Developing and growing as he – the hero is usually male–strives toward his goal, Pavel’s protagonist struggles not with dragons and giants, but with himself and his own difficulties and misfortunes.Earlier research refers to Ota Pavel’s two “genres”: sports prose and retrospective, or “memory” prose. This study shows that the boundary between the two is fluid, and that all Pavel’s work might be called memory prose. The title of this thesis – Ota Pavels sagovärld (The Fairytale World of Ota Pavel) – indicates the perspective from which the subject is approached. On the one hand, it alludes to the influence of the fairy tale on Pavel’s work, while on the other it points to the fact that his own life was such that he sometimes needed to retreat into a fantasy world of his own. Keywords: Tjeckisk litteratur, saga, Ota Pavel, narratologi, Tjeckoslovakien</p

A Chopper-Stabilized Amplifier with a Relaxed Fill-In Technique and 22.6pA Input Current
In chopper amplifiers, the interaction between the input signal and the chopper clock can cause intermodulation distortion (IMD). This is mainly due to finite amplifier bandwidth, which causes signal-dependent output spikes at the chopping transitions. Such chopper-induced IMD can be mitigated by the fill-in technique, which involves ping-ponging between the outputs of two identical OTAs chopped in quadrature, thus generating a spike-free output. In this letter, a relaxed implementation is proposed in which the output of a fill-in OTA is only briefly used to avoid the spikes of a chopped main OTA. As a result, the fill-in OTA does not need to be chopped, and so it can be duty-cycled to save power. Furthermore, the chopper ripple caused by the main OTA can now be suppressed by a single low-noise ripple-reduction loop, rather than the two AZ loops required in a previous ping-pong implementation of the fill-in technique. Compared to the latter, the proposed amplifier achieves similar IMD performance (-125.7 dB), a 25× lower input current (22.6 pA), and a flat noise floor (12 nV/ Hz).Green Open Access added to TU Delft Institutional Repository 'You share, we take care!' - Taverne project https://www.openaccess.nl/en/you-share-we-take-care Otherwise as indicated in the copyright section: the publisher is the copyright holder of this work and the author uses the Dutch legislation to make this work public.Electronic InstrumentationMicroelectronic

The Poetics of Space in Ota Filip's Novels
This thesis is focused on poetics of places and space in the novels of Czech author Ota Filip (*1930). The analysis of individual spaces displayed in Filip's work wants to demonstrate the importance of these places for the narrative construction of the autor's novels. This thesis aims to show the importance of displayed space and individual spaces for the overall sense of the fictional world in the Filip's work. The methodological basis of the thesis is the study of the Polisch scientist Janusz Sławiński: Space in Literature: Basic Division and Introductory Commonplace (2002 [1978]). Research of space displayed in the literary work based on the text of a particular novel
A flux controlled electronically tunable fully floating OTA based memristor emulator
In this paper, flux controlled high frequency floating/grounded type memristor emulator circuit based on single OTA (Operational Transconductance Amplifier) is introduced by using CMOS technology. The emulator is realized using single OTA, multi output transconductance amplifier, a grounded resistor and a grounded capacitor. The proposed circuit can be configured in both incremental and decremental topology by changing the connections. The proposed circuit has been simulated in LT-Spice using 0.18 μm CMOS parameters at a supply voltage of ± 1.5 V. The memristor characteristics can be electronically tuned by changing the transconductance of the OTAs. In addition, with change of the capacitor value in the proposed circuit, the pinched hysteresis loop observed in the current versus voltage plane can be held at higher frequencies. The proposed emulator circuit performs well up to 20 MHz. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature
Framework flexibility and mass transport properties of porous materials
Title: Framework flexibility and mass transport properties of porous materials Author: Bc. Tomáš Volný Department: Department of Chemical Physics and Optics Supervisor: RNDr. Ota Bludský, CSc., Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry of the CAS Abstract: The effects of framework flexibility on slow diffusion in porous materials were systematically studied using chabazite zeolite as a model system. Diffusion coefficients for a series of hydrocarbons (C1-C4) were calculated using transition state theory (TST) and refined through a QM-MM correction scheme. The corrected theoretical predictions were validated against experimental data obtained from volumetric and gravimetric measurements. Different types of framework flexibility - geometry-induced, temperature-induced, and guest-induced effects - were analyzed and their influence on diffusion coefficients assessed. It was found that framework deformation plays a crucial role, particularly for larger hydrocarbons. The study demonstrated that theoretically predicted diffusion coefficients qualitatively reproduce experimental trends. The developed methodology provides a consistent framework for studying slow diffusion processes and can be extended to more complex materials, such as zeolites with framework defects, MOFs, or ZIFs. Tomáš Volný Katedra: Katedra chemické fyziky a optiky Vedoucí diplomové práce: RNDr. Ota Bludský, CSc., Ústav organické chemie a biochemie AV ČR Abstrakt: V této práci byly systematicky studovány účinky strukturní flexibility na pomalou difuzi v porézních materiálech za použití zeolitu chabazite jako modelového systému. Difuzní koeficienty pro sérii uhlovodíků byly vypočteny pomocí teorie tranzit- ního stavu (TST) a dále opraveny pomocí korekčního schématu QM-MM. Opravené teoretické predikce byly ověřeny porovnáním s experimentálními daty získanými pomocí volumetrie a gravimetrie.
