No full textEven today in the history of Cuban anthropology, little attention is paid to the writer and anthropologist Lydia Cabrera, who has only recently begun to be part of the list of intellectuals in official Cuban culture. However, because of her work and life trajectory, Cabrera can be considered the modern founder of studies on Afro-Cuban religions.
The main purpose of this text is to analyse Lydia Cabrera’s ethnographic work based on the idea that there was a ‘counterpoint’, a dialogue, a metaphorical game, between the liminal identity of the author herself – manifested in a racial, cultural, gender, social and political sense – and her interest and dedication to the contribution of slaves and the population of African origin to the history, culture and, ultimately, the identity of their Cuban homeland.Todavía hoy en la historia de la antropología cubana se presta poca atención a la escritora y antropóloga Lydia Cabrera, quien solo muy recientemente ha empezado a formar parte de la nómina intelectual de la cultura cubana oficial. Sin embargo, en función de su obra y trayectoria vital puede considerarse a Cabrera como la fundadora moderna de los estudios sobre las religiones afrocubanas.
El objeto central de este texto es analizar el trabajo etnográfico de Lydia Cabrera a partir de la idea de que existe un contrapunteo, un diálogo, un juego metafórico, entre la identidad liminar de la propia autora -manifiesta en un sentido racial, cultural, de género, social y político- y su interés y dedicación a la aportación de los esclavos y la población de origen africano a la historia, a la cultura y, en última instancia, a la identidad misma de su patria cubana

No full textEste trabajo plantea una nueva visión del reformismo agrario llevado a cabo
desde el Gobierno durante la Restauración. Esta revisión se centra en el estudio de
las aportaciones de Rafael Gasset, el sempiterno ministro de Fomento restauracionista
—lo fue nueve veces entre 1900 y 1923—, a la solución de la llamada
cuestión agraria en el período histórico iniciado en la coyuntura crítica del 98 y finalizado
con la liquidación del sistema del turno de partidos en septiembre de
1923. El análisis de las causas de lo que hemos denominado como fracaso de la
puesta en práctica de la política agraria hidráulica en los años de vigencia del régimen
canovista —a nuestro juicio de carácter esencialmente político—, así como las
paradójicas razones que explican su continuidad histórica y éxito efectivo durante
las dictaduras primorriverista y franquista, sirve, por añadidura, para esbozar algunas
hipótesis que nos permiten entender mejor la naturaleza de estos regímenes
históricos.This work offers a new vision of the agrarian reformism carried out by the Government
during the Restauracion. This revision focusses on the study of the contributions
of Rafael Gasset, the everlasting mínister of Fomento during the Restauración
—a duty he occupied nine times between 1900 and 1923— to the
solution of so called agrarian question in the histórical period which started in the
critical moment of 98 and finished with the liquidation of the turno de partidos system
in september 1923. The analysis looks at the reasons of the failure of the hydraulic
agrarian policy during the years of the Canovite system —in our opinión essentially polítical—, as well as to the reasons that explain its histórical continuity
and success during the dictatorships of Primo de Rivera and Franco; it also serves
to establish some hiypothesis with allow us to understand better the nature of

Un Sistema de Ingresos Representativo para los Municipios de México
No full textThis paper shows an estimate of the fiscal capacity of the municipalities in Mexico from two alternatives: a Macrofórmula based on the local GDP per capita (for 1.954 municipalities) and our approximation (for 1.461 municipalities) for a Representative Revenue System (RRS), Which is obtained dividing the municipal income in two components: the tax base by property tax, and a base that includes "other" revenues. As far as we know, this is the first estimate at this level of disaggregation in our country. The estimate is for the 2005, since it is the only year for the account with an estimate of GDP at municipal level in Mexico
The results are consistent with other works (Sour, 2004 and Lozano and Cabrera, 2009) in both the municipalities with greater fiscal capacity are those whose economic activities central allow the "export taxes", that is, tourist destinations. Nevertheless, differ partially other results as the Aguilar (2009), which may be due to this author, in weighing the industrial activities of the municipalities, biased the results compared to those with strong presence of services and which have the "export taxes" possibility (Lozano and Cabrera, 2009)
