    Michael Lucey s’intéresse à la création d’une communauté appelée « public intime » dans l’œuvre d’Hervé Guibert, notamment ses textes portant sur le sida. En parlant de « misfits » (détraqués, marginaux), Lucey s’attache à une définition de la sexualité « queer » qui ne l’isolerait pas d’autres variables sociales, une sexualité hors de l’ordinaire, certes, mais fondamentalement intersectionnelle.
