A 40 nm CMOS I/O Pad Design With Embedded Capacitive Coupling Receiver for Non-Contact Wafer Probe Test

    No full text
A receiver for capacitive coupled communication is embedded in a digital input/output pad to add the capacity for non-contact data communication, while maintaining size, ESD protection, and buffering functions unchanged, even in contact mode. The added feature allows non-contact probing of die pads and provides a reliable alternative solution to mechanical probing for electrical wafer sort testing of Systems-on-Chip (SoC) and Systems-in-Package (SiPs) because of elimination of pad damage and reduction of the force required to create stable electrical contacts between probe needles and pads. The proposed receiver detects the displacement current flowing through the capacitive channel created between the connecting probe needle and top metal pad surface when a transition in the input digital stimulus signal occurs. The receiver is designed to work up to 100 Mbit/s data rate with a power of 340 μW in a 40 nm CMOS process. The circuit trade-offs between frequency, amplitude of the step input and distance are discussed. Experimental results show that for a 5 V input voltage amplitude, the receiver allows correct data transmission at a distance up to 5 μm, which increases to 10 μm if the top aluminum layer is divided in two, using a customized I/O pad design. The feasibility of this non-contact testing approach was verified through electrical tests on two IP blocks, an LFSR, and a PLL with a scan chain, using a standard prober and a cantilever probe card designed with 19 needles of different lengths to enable both physical contact connections for power supply and non-contact capacitive coupling data communication for signals

Calcareous nannofossils dating of the San Martino Formation from the Balagne ophiolite sequence (Alpine Corsica): comparison with the Palombini Shale of the Northern Apennine

    No full text
n the Alpine Corsica, the ophiolitic sequences are regarded as remnants of the Ligure-Piemontese oceanic lithosphere. The best preserved ophiolitic sequences are represented by the succession from the Balagne nappe, northern Corsica. This succession consists of a Jurassic ophiolite sequence topped by a Jurassic - Late Cretaceous sedimentary cover. This sedimentary cover, affected by very-low grade metamorphism, consists of deep-sea deposits, represented by Chert, Calpionella Limestone, San Martino Fm., Lydienne Flysch and Novella Sandstone. The latters two formations are characterized by terrigenous turbidite deposits supplied by Europe/Iberia continental margin. In this paper the age of the San Martino Fm. and the lower part of the Lydienne Flysch has been determined by the study of the calcareous nannofossil assemblages. The collected data indicate for the San Martino Fm. an age spanning from Early Berriasian to Late Hauterivian - Early Barremian. Moreover, the lower part of the Lydienne Flysch is not older than Late Hauterivian and not younger than Early Barremian. By comparison with the data available from ophiolite sedimentary cover of Northern Apennine, the San Martino Fm. can be correlated with the lower part of the Palombini Shale. This correlation suggests that the upper part of the Palombini Shale can be considered as time equivalent to the Lydienne Flysch

After an attempt to define philology according to its goals and diverse objects, and to differentiate between philology of autographs and philology of eterograph, or orphan, texts, the paper offers some remarks on the criteria that may guide the edition of non-standard texts, namely Vorarbeiten, Nachlässe, texts that have undergone substantial changes in the course of their transmission or are affected by an overwhelming amount of variants; and especially texts that the author, if alive, would never publish as such

Entre o luto e as memórias: a escrita emblemática de Carmen Perilli, em Improlijas memorias

This article highlights one of the recent cartoon productions. It is Improlijas memorias, debut novel by Argentinean researcher Carmen Perilli, which ranges from the last Argentine dictatorship (1976-1983) to the recent inquiries against the executioners of that time. Memory is the key to denouncing the oppressive environment experienced and the consequent state of fear and uncertainty of the population. The narrative presents facts and court documents about the dead and missing people, as well as being carried away by memories, through which it shows the impacts of the “guerra sucia” on the author herself. Alongside this, Carmen Perilli builds a fragmented, hybrid and particular narrative. It is argued, in this article, that the construction of this writing contributes to the elaboration of an emblematic memory about the traumatic events, as well as the way of producing the text, cartonería, enhances a voice of resistance againstauthoritarianism of any kind.
