On the connection between radio mini-halos and gas heating in cool core clusters
In this work, we present a study of the central regions of cool-core clusters hosting radio mini-halos, which are di use synchrotron sources extended on cluster-scales surrounding the radio-loud brightest galaxy. We aim to investigate the interplay between the thermal and non-thermal components in the intracluster medium in order to get more insights into these radio sources, whose nature is still unclear. It has recently been proposed that turbulence plays a role for heating the gas in cool cores. A correlation between the radio luminosity of mini-halos, , and the cooling flow power, P_\rm CF, is expected in the case that this turbulence also plays a role for the acceleration of the relativistic particles. We carried out a homogeneous re-analysis of X-ray Chandra data of the largest sample of cool-core clusters hosting radio mini-halos currently available ( objects), finding a quasi-linear correlation, \nu P_\nu \propto P_\rm CF^0.8. We show that the scenario of a common origin of radio mini-halos and gas heating in cool-core clusters is energetically viable, provided that mini-halos trace regions where the magnetic field strength is
System and method for detecting and classifying recurrent stops of a vehicle fleet
A method and system for identifying recurrent stops of a vehicle fleet having a plurality of vehicles . The method comprises retrieving historical GPS tracks of the vehicle fleet over a period of time ; detecting stops made by the vehicle fleet along travelled routes that are associated with the historical GPS tracks ; constructing a coverage area that covers the travelled routes ; discretizing the coverage area into a plurality of cells ; determining whether a cell is a recurrent stop based on a fleet stay period associated with that cell ; and classifying a determined recurrent stop into a plurality of categories

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Finally, we show by means of an example that our findings have a high practical relevance.information science;Pearson correlation;cosine;similarity measure;author cocitation analysis
Stop purpose classification for vehicle fleets
A device receives location information and work order information associated with multiple vehicles, and groups the location information into engine off information, idling information, and journey information. The device combines, based on the journey information, the engine off information and the idling information to generate vehicle stop information associated with the plurality of vehicles, and matches corresponding work order information with the vehicle stop information to generate matched information. The device extracts stop-wise features, points of interest features, stop cluster features, and sequential features from the vehicle stop information, and utilizes the stop-wise features, the points of interest features, the stop cluster features, and the sequential features with a model to determine work order stops and non-work order stops for the multiple vehicles. The device provides information associated with the work order stops and the non-work order stops for the multiple vehicles
Vehicle classification using a recurrent neural network (RNN)
A device can receive GPS data or values for a set of metrics at a set of GPS points that form a GPS track of a vehicle. The device can determine additional values for additional metrics using the GPS data or the values for the set of metrics. The device can determine a set of vectors for the set of GPS points using the GPS data, the values, or the additional values. The set of vectors can be used in a recurrent neural network (RNN) to classify the vehicle. The device can process the set of vectors via one or more sets of RNN layers of the RNN. The device can determine a classification of the vehicle using a result of processing the set of vectors. The result can be output by the output layer. The device can perform an action based on the classification of the vehicle
System and method for deriving operation information of a fleet and analyzing the same
A system and method for optimizing traveled routes of a fleet. The method comprises reconstructing routes traveled by vehicles of the fleet based on historical GPS traces of the fleet; determining stops made by the vehicles along the traveled routes; and classifying the stops into work stops and non-work stops; and optimizing routes for the work stops
