Il capitolo analizza le correlazioni tra politiche di patrimonio, politiche di bilancio e valorizzazione sociale delle infrastrutture pubbliche. Definisce un framework logico per le decisioni di policy complessiv

Componenti visive e arti figurative in Kaputt fra non fiction e fiction - Visual components and figurative arts in Kaputt between non-fiction and fiction

A testing procedure of a digital application for safety improvement in a beverage plant

Safety at the workplace is one of the most relevant issues for companies, due to the high number of accidents happening every year, some of which even deadly. Despite that, this number is decreasing thanks to continuous research and to an increasing application of safety procedures and devices. In line with that, the project presented in this work intends to develop and evaluate a new solution to improve operators' safety, at a reasonable cost (including adoption and use). The usage of wearable systems (smart-glasses and smartwatches) will improve the efficacy of the solutions previously tested on mobile devices like tablets and smartphones. Although no new devices were developed, the project required the creation of a new software tool, in which a great amount of information was inserted to allow its correct functioning. The main aim of this work is to create a testing procedure to evaluate the impact of this solutions on the employee's safety. This is extremely important to demonstrate the efficacy of new industry 4.0 applications

An Advanced Modeling & Simulation Tool for Investigating the Behavior of a Manufacturing System in the Hazelnuts Industry Sector

    No full text
This article proposes an advanced java-based simulation tool developed in order to support decision making in a manufacturing system operating in the hazelnuts industry sector. By providing the user with high flexibility in terms of manufacturing scenarios definition, the simulation tool can be used as an advanced decision-making tool to understand the dynamic interactions between multiple performance measures (that include both production lines and inventory system performances) and a set of user-defined factors (the latter defined by the production manager according to his/her needs in terms of manufacturing scenarios investigation). To understand how the simulation model can be used as decision-making tool and for testing the tool effectiveness, simulation results analyses and analytical meta-models are provided for different manufacturing scenarios

Internal fixation for the treatment of multiple physeal tibial fractures in a dog

    No full text
This case report describes a pinning fixation for the treatment of three tibial physeal fractures in a 3 months old mixed-breed dog. The radiographic study revealed the presence of a severely proximal dislocation of the tibial diaphysis along with multiple fractures of the proximal and distal tibial physes, distal femoral physis and fibula as well. An open reduction and internal fixation technique (ORIF) were performed using crossed K-wires for proximal and distal tibialphyseal fixation and a tension band to address the tibial tuberosity avulsion fracture. Postoperative radiographs showed proper fracture reduction, tibia alignment and correct implant positioning. Clinical and radiographic rechecks highlighted a progressive limb weight-bearing gradual resolution of distal limb edema andf racture healing. The described open surgical treatment allowed for a satisfactory clinical outcome as the preservation of limb joint function and tibial anatomy determined an early return to function at 45 days of follow-up

An application methodology for logistics and transportation scenarios analysis and comparison within the retail supply chain

    No full text
The article proposes the development of an application methodology, named MARLIN, for logistics and transportation (L&T) scenarios analysis and comparison within the fresh food supply chain (FFSC). The MARLIN application methodology consists of the development of a dedicated simulation-based software tool for scenarios analysis and comparison and its inclusion in a methodology framework. The software tool is based on three different cooperating simulators while the methodology framework consists of three different steps: 1) supply chain rings and constraints definition; 2) L&T scenarios and factors definition; 3) L&T scenarios analysis and comparison. After the description of the cooperating simulators and methodology framework, a case study on a real FFSC is presented to showcase the MARLIN application methodology; the case study provides analytical and numerical results for five L&T scenarios and selects the optimal L&T scenario

    VIP - Virtual Interactive Port

The presented research is related to support the development of a virtual world for a network of simulators devoted to cooperative training. Such a system operates in a synthetic Environment based on a High Level Architecture which integrates full motion simulators and low-cost training workstations. Starting from these basis, it is possible to apply distributed simulation to a relevant number of entities and proceed with low-cost training sessions in cooperative operations in intermodal terminals
