Storytelling
No full textOnce upon a time before words were written, before cultures and societies were observed and analyzed there was storytelling. Storytelling has been a part of humanity since people were able to communicate and respond to the basic biological urge to explain, educate and enlighten. Cave drawings, traditional dances, poems, songs, and chants are all examples of early storytelling. Stories pass on historical, cultural, and moral information and provide escape and relief from the everyday struggle to survive. Storytelling takes place in all cultures in a variety of different forms. Studying these forms requires an interdisciplinary approach involving anthropology, psychology, linguistics, history, library science, theater, media studies and other related disciplines. New technologies and new approaches have brought about a renewed interest in the varied aspects and elements of storytelling, broadening our understanding and appreciation of its complexity.Anderson, K. Librarians’ Use of Images on LibGuides and Other Social Media Platforms
No full textThis study compared the use of librarians’ profile images across Web platforms designed for librarian-patron communication. The primary focus was LibGuides profiles at a peer group of ARL institutions. Librarians are currently using a variety of options, including professional head shots, casual head shots, other photos, alternate images, avatars, and no image. Where possible, results were also analyzed by gender. For a smaller selection of libraries, LibGuides photos were compared with Facebook photos to see if different images were used for a professional versus a personal social media setting. This research was done in December 2010 and duplicated in May 2012 to track changes over time. The later study also reviews profile images for the smaller selection of libraries in LinkedIn and ALA Connect. Modification of structural, morphological and optical properties of Ag3PO4 and Ag2-2xZnxWO4 (0≤ x ≤ 0.25)
No full textPhosphates and tungstates are important compounds and known mainly for their photocatalytic and photoluminescent properties. The present work proposes a study of the structural, morphological and photoluminescent properties of the materials: Ag3PO4 electron beam irradiated and femtosecond laser, and Ag2-2xZnxWO4 (0≤ x ≤ 0.25) modified with different concentrations of Zn+ obtained by the method of co-precipitation. The obtained phases were characterized by X-ray diffraction, Raman scattering spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, scanning and transmission electron microscopy, and photoluminescence measurements. The main results investigated for the irradiated Ag3PO4 crystals show that XRD diffraction data show that the patterns for the non-irradiated and similar electron-irradiated samples, while the femtosecond laser-irradiated sample has a higher resolution XRD pattern, low, showing a higher structural disturbance at long range. For the Raman and Rietveld Spectra they show that both [PO4] and [AgO4] are distorted clusters, being the Ag-O bonds of agglomerates [AgO4] more labile than the P-O bonds of clusters [PO4]. In addition, a distinct growth and size mechanism was observed in the production of metallic Ag. For Ag2WO4, the results showed that the increase of Zn concentration in the microcrystals in the α-Ag2WO4 host matrix caused a morphological transformation and a shift of the electronic and optical properties. And regarding the photuluminescent properties of the α-Ag2WO4 and α-Ag2-2xZnxWO4 microcrystals are explained by the effects of distortions and oxygen vacancies (V_O^x) on clusters [WO6] and [AgOy] (y = 2, 4, 6 and 7) respectively causing a redshift.Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico (CNPq)Os fosfatos e os tungstatos são compostos importantes e conhecidos principalmente por suas propriedades fotocatalíticas e fotoluminescentes. O presente trabalho propõe-se um estudo das propriedades estruturais, morfológicas e ópticas dos materiais: Ag3PO4 irradiado por feixe de elétrons e laser de femtosegundos, e Ag2-2xZnxWO4(0≤ x ≤ 0.25) modificado com diferentes concentrações de Zn+ obtidos pelo método de coprecipitação. As fases obtidas foram caracterizadas por difração de raios-X, espectroscopia de espalhamento Raman, espectroscopia de fotoelétrons por raios X, microscopia eletrônica de varredura e transmissão e por medidas de fotoluminescência. Os principais resultados investigados para os cristais de Ag3PO4 irradiados mostra que dados de difração de XRD apontam padrões semelhantes para o as amostras não irradiadas e irradiadas por elétrons, enquanto a amostra irradiada por laser de femtosegundos apresenta padrão de XRD mais baixa, mostrando um distúrbio estrutural mais alto a longo alcance. Para os Espectros Raman e Rietveld mostram que ambos [PO4] e [AgO4] são aglomerados distorcidos, sendo as ligações Ag-O de aglomerados [AgO4] mais lábeis que as ligações P-O de aglomerados [PO4]. Além disso, foi observado mecanismo distinto de crescimento e tamanho na produção de Ag metálica. Para o Ag2WO4, os resultados mostraram que o aumento da concentração de Zn nos microcristais na matriz hospedeira de α-Ag2WO4 causou uma transformação morfológica e um deslocamento das propriedades ópticas. E em relação as propriedades fotuluminescentes dos microcristais α-Ag2WO4 e α-Ag2-2xZnxWO4 são explicadas por meio de efeitos de distorções e vacâncias de oxigênio (V_O^x) em clusters [WO6] e [AgOy] (y = 2, 4, 6 e 7), respectivamente causando um desvio para o vermelho

No full textNo âmbito do Mestrado em Design e Cultura Visual do IADE, foi proposto aos alunos no terceiro semestre a realização de um Projeto Final, tendo sido dadas como opções de realização deste projeto: relatório de estágio, dissertação ou projeto aplicado. Optou-se pelo relatório, realizado por Elson Jorge Paiva dos Santos na circunstância de um Estágio Curricular, que teve por objetivo a inserção do aluno no mundo empresarial de forma a conciliar os conhecimentos adquiridos ao longo do percurso do mestrado de Design e Cultura Visual com a experiencia prática. Será relatado ao longo deste trabalho o estágio que se realizou durante o período de 1 de novembro de 2015 até 1 de março de 2016, na Câmara Municipal de Cascais, que esteve direcionado, principalmente, para a procura de novos modelos de comunicação interna, com o fim de incentivar os colaboradores a contribuir com ideias para a melhoria do ambiente interno e a poupança de recursos.The following report concerns the tasks I have performed during the time I worked for Camera de Cascais. Its structure is both based on a practical and theoretical approach, in order to best explain the tasks and their purpose. This approach relied on the knowledge I obtained during my masters in Design and Visual Culture and the knowledge obtained whilst working at Camera Municipal de Cascais. The report’s objective, apart from describing my experience at Cascais, is to display the connection between the brand’s internal marketing goals and how these goals interacted with Graphic Design

Este trabalho resgata a história da criação, do início das atividades e também da influência da Ditadura Militar no curso. A pesquisa evidencia a atuação do jornalista Carlos Danilo Costa Côrtes e do reitor da UFPR Flávio Suplicy de Lacerda na criação da graduação em Jornalismo. O resultado desta pesquisa é a criação de um produto jornalístico digital. O presente trabalho traz, então, o embasamento teórico que foi de grande utilidade na construção da narrativa online. Aqui estão analisadas as linguagens (o documentário audiovisual clássico, o webdocumentário e o jornalismo de formato longo) e o conteúdo (golpe civil-militar, história da UFPR e do curso de jornalismo), por meio da pesquisa bibliográfica e documental e também de entrevistas em profundidad
