Critical management: an opportunity to study society
Get PDFEn este artículo pretendemos establecer una propuesta de agenda de carácter epistemológico del campo de la Administración desde una perspectiva crítica y situada. A lo largo del artículo se desarrolla un llamado a la consolidación de una revisión del derrotero teórico del campo en base a los postulados de los Critical management studies, pero que atienda a las particularidades del contexto regional y local. En Latinoamérica en general y en la Argentina en particular, la disciplina se ha caracterizado por la reproducción de la versión clásica y ortodoxa de Administración, cuya orientación básica estuvo enfocada en la elaboración de propuestas de diagnóstico e intervención organizacional subordinadas a los intereses de los propietarios, directivos y accionistas de las grandes organizaciones. En este sentido, sostenemos la necesidad de proponer una agenda de investigación que aborde el fenómeno de la Administración partiendo de la reflexión epistemológica con el objetivo de producir conocimiento sistemático en torno al carácter eminentemente social de la administración de organizaciones atendiendo las singularidades propias de nuestra región y que contribuyan a la construcción de sociedades más justas e igualitarias.In this article we intend to establish a proposal of an epistemological agenda in the field of Administration from a critical and situated perspective. In this sense, the author's work is approached by analyzing her characterization of conflict and the main conceptual cores proposed for its analysis and management, proposing a view that recognizes the scope and limitations of these contributions and an analysis of their influence, identifying continuities and ruptures with contemporary conceptual frameworks in the field of conflict resolution.El presente trabajo aborda los aportes realizados por Mary Parker Follett a la discusión sobre el conflicto en las organizaciones y la administración del conflicto. Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Get PDFThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
