Hispanic Carpenter Dies After Being Crushed Between the Loader Bucket of a Backhoe/Loader and a Concrete Building - North Carolina
No full textOn January 6, 2003, a 25-year-old male Hispanic carpenter (the victim) died after being crushed between the loader bucket of a backhoe/loader and a concrete building. The victim was part of a three-man crew assigned to cover a window with plywood. The victim and a coworker climbed into the loader bucket of the backhoe/loader with the plywood. After the loader bucket was raised to the window, the backhoe/loader operator noticed that one of his coworkers was losing grip on the plywood. The operator, who had placed the loader bucket controls into neutral, jumped off the backhoe/loader to assist. As he jumped, the strap of his fall protection harness, worn as required by company policy, became entangled on the loader bucket control lever, moving it to the dumping position. When the bucket tilted forward, one coworker jumped off the bucket unharmed; the victim, who remained in the bucket, was pinned, and crushed against the building. The backhoe operator reversed the backhoe/loader to free the victim. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) personnel arrived within 5 minutes of the 911 call and transported the victim to a local hospital emergency room where he was pronounced dead.Constructio

ABSTRAK
Alat berat berperan penting dalam kehidupan manusia. Wheel loader merupakan
alat berat yang digunakan untuk pemuatan material ke dump truck. Sistem hidrolik
merupakan tenaga penggerak dari wheel loader.Tujuan dari tugas akhir ini adalah
memberikan gambaran tentang mekanisme sistem hidrolik pada lengan wheel loader.
Komponen penyusun sistem hidrolik diantara lain : motor listrik, gear pump,
pressure relief valve, manual control valve, selang, silinder double actions. Dalam
tugas akhir ini yang diperhitungkan adalah gaya piston, volume ruang hidrolik,fluida
yang diperlukan. Hasil perhitungan gaya tarik batang 2120,5 N, gaya dorong batang
2826 N.

ABSTRACT
Heavy device plays an important part in human life. Wheel loader is the heavy
device used to load material into dump truck. Hydraulic system is the motor of wheel
loader. The objective of final project was to give a description on hydraulic system
mechanism during wheel loader arm. The components making hydraulic system
were: electric motor, gear pump, pressure relief valve, manual control valve, hose,
double-actions cylinder. This final project estimated piston force. The result of
estimation showed that the impressive force of rod was 2120,5 N, impetus force of
rod was 2826 N,

Wheel loader uses the hydraulic system to power. In this paper we presented
the calculation of the hydraulic system forces of miniature wheel loader arms. Load
calculations are conducted on lifters and shaker bucket. Calculation results of
forces on hydraulic piston both shaker and lifters is 12717 N, 16956 N respectively.

Penggunaan sistem hidrolik telah mengalami suatu perkembangan yang
demikian pesatnya, sehingga sistem hidrolik dimanfaatkan dalam semua cabang
industri. Pada umumnya sistem hidrolik digunakan pada industri-industri
permesinan. Dalam dunia industri, banyak peralatan industri yang bekerja secara
otomatis, baik itu mengunakan sistem mekanis, elektronik, hidrolik, pneumatik,
maupun dengan sistem yang lain..
Wheel Loader merupakan salah satu alat berat yang digunakan untuk
pemuatan material ke dalam dump truck atau untuk penimbunan material dari suatu
tempat ketempat lain. Wheel loader menggunakan sistem hidrolik sebagai sumber
pengoprasiannya. Pada tulisan ini dipresentasikan penghitungan gaya sistem
hidrolik pada miniatur lengan wheel loader. Penghitungan dilakukan terhadap
batang pengangkat dan penggoyang bucket. Hasil perhitungan gaya-gaya pada
silinder hidrolik masing – masing untuk batang penggoyang bucket 12717 N dan
untuk batang pengangkat bucket 16956 N

Hispanic Laborer Dies After Being Crushed Between the Frame of a Skid Steer Loader and the Scraper Attachment on the Loader Lift Arms - Ohio
No full textOn October 18, 2003, a 23-year-old Hispanic laborer (the victim) leaned outside a skid steer loader's operator compartment and was crushed between the frame of the skid steer loader and a scraper attachment. The victim and three other Hispanic coworkers were assigned to routine cleanup at a rendering plant. The victim was operating a skid steer loader equipped with a metal/rubber scraper attached to the loader lift arms. After completing his cleaning task, the victim drove the skid steer loader behind the plant. Approximately 10 minutes later, the plant manager went to look for him and discovered the victim crushed between the frame of the skid steer loader and the scraper attachment. The plant manager used the controls to release the victim, and he and a coworker carried the victim to the parking lot where they placed him on the ground. Meanwhile, another coworker called emergency medical services (EMS) from a telephone in the company's lunchroom. EMS responded within 7 minutes. They examined the victim and determined that he had sustained fatal head injuries. They contacted the county coroner who pronounced the victim dead at the scene.Constructio
