No full textEn el contexto del florecimiento cultural de la China posterior a la Apertura y Reforma en la década de 1990, la escritora contemporánea Lin Bai emergió como una figura destacada al abordar de manera valiente el tema del amor lésbico en sus novelas como Una guerra propia (1994) y Agua en una botella (1993). Su valiente indagación en la homosexualidad femenina se reveló como una empresa innovadora que amplió significativamente los horizontes de la literatura femenina en la China contemporánea. No obstante, las restricciones sociales y culturales se manifestaron de manera palpable en las protagonistas de sus narrativas, quienes enfrentaron resistencia y temor frente al amor entre mujeres, desencadenando tragedias personales. La representación vívida de la homofobia social y la lucha interna en estas obras invita a una reflexión profunda sobre los desafíos y obstáculos que las personas lesbianas enfrentan en la sociedad china contemporánea. Este análisis se propone examinar detenidamente las obras de Lin Bai desde una perspectiva feminista y queer, explorando cómo estas novelas arrojan luz sobre la complejidad de la identidad lésbica en un contexto cultural específico y cómo contribuyen al discurso más amplio sobre la diversidad sexual en la literatura china contemporánea.In the cultural boom of post-Reform and Opening China in the 1990s, contemporary writer Lin Bai emerged as a prominent figure by courageously tackling the theme of lesbian love in her novels A War of One’s Own (1994) and Water in a Bottle (1993). Her bold exploration of female homosexuality stands as an innovative endeavor that significantly expanded the horizons of women’s literature in contemporary China. However, social and cultural constraints manifest palpably in the protagonists of her narratives, who encounter resistance and fear in the face of love between women, leading to personal tragedies. The vivid portrayal of social homophobia and internal struggles in these works invites deep reflection on the challenges and obstacles that lesbians face in contemporary Chinese society. This analysis aims to scrutinize Lin Bai’s works thoroughly from a feminist and queer perspective, exploring how these novels shed light on the complexity of lesbian identity in a specific cultural context and contribute to the broader discourse on sexual diversity in contemporary Chinese literature

Her courageous exploration of female homosexuality was groundbreaking and expanded the horizons of contemporary Chinese women's literature. However, social and cultural limitations became apparent in the protagonists of her stories, who experienced resistance and fear towards same-sex love, leading to personal tragedies. This representation of social homophobia and internal struggle invites us to reflect on the challenges and obstacles faced by lesbians in present-day Chinese society.En el contexto del florecimiento cultural de la China posterior a la Apertura y Reforma en la década de 1990, la escritora contemporánea Lin Bai se destacó al abordar el amor lésbico en sus novelas Una guerra propia (1994) y Agua en una botella (1993).
