    Synthesis and Properties of New Carbazole- Containing Dendrimers

    我們採用聯苯作為核心,成功地合成含1、2 、5和10 個咔唑作為樹枝化基元的啞鈴型樹狀化合物。這幾個樹狀化合物的放光在藍光區。另外一個合成的策略是利用1,8-萘二甲醯亞胺作為焦點,我們合成出了放出黃光樹狀化合物(29)及(30)。他們的螢光是來自於咔唑樹狀化合物進行能量轉移機制到1,8-萘二甲醯亞胺放光。接著我們以2-(9,9'-旋環雙芴)丙二腈作為焦點形成了樹狀化合物(35)及(36)。我們發現化合物(35)有電荷轉移的放光產生,而化合物(36)主要的放光則來自於區域性的激態。胺基化合物(10)與1,3,4-噁二唑樹狀化合物結合生成雙極性樹狀分子(42)及(43)會產生電荷轉移的放光。這些樹狀化合物都有很好的熱穩定性。經過多次循環伏安法的掃描來研究樹狀化合物聚合的發生,啞鈴型樹狀化合物及以1,8-萘二甲醯亞胺與2-(9,9'-旋環雙芴)丙二腈作為焦點的樹狀化合物會有聚合的現象,雙極性分子(42)及(43)則不會產生電聚合的現象。We adopted biphenyl as a core, dendrimers containing with 1, 2, 5, and 10 carbazole groups as dendrons have been successfully synthesized. These dumbbelled shape dendrimers showed blue emission. In another strategy, using 1,8-naphthalimide as a focal point, we synthesized compounds 29 and 30 as yellow light emitting dendrimers. They showed efficient energy transfer from peripheral carbazole dendrons to the core. We used 2-(9,9'-spirobifluoren-2-ylmethylene)-malononitrile as a red emission focal point and synthesized compounds 35 and 36. We found compound 35 exhibited charge transfer fluorescence, but 36 showed the major emission from local excited state. Ambipolar dendrimers with amino compound 10 connecting to 1,3,4-oxadiazole dendrimer exhibited not only electron transfer but also energy transfer. These carbazole dendrimers exhibited good thermal stability.     Pseudo-Rigid Formation Design For Multi-Agent Sytem

    本論文主要為發展一可改變隊形之多載具運動模式,將擬剛體形變的理論應用在最佳化的隊形設計上,整個系統的隊形變化由一齊性形變張量所規範,稱之為擬剛體隊形,每一個載具的位置可透過隊形幾何中心的位置及齊性形變張量求得。從幾何的觀點來看,擬剛體運動之系統可用 來描述,係一維度為12的空間,設計一個隊形在空間中移動的問題可以簡化為求解12個系統變數。避開障礙物及到達目標的最佳化設計成本函數可以由系統變量及隊形的初始狀態來表示,所獲得的最佳化隊形可以容許發生旋轉、拉伸及剪應變等變形。根據實例設計結果驗證我們的研究是可行且有效的。The main purpose of this thesis is to design the motion of a multi-agent system which can change its formation. We apply the pseudo-rigid body theory to design the optimal formation, which can be controlled by a homogenous deformation gradient tensor. Such concept is called a Pseudo-Rigid Formation. The position of each agent can be determined by the position of geometric center and a homogenous deformation gradient tensor. In geometry, the configuration space is the product of the three dimensional real vector space and the general linear group , a twelve dimensional manifold. The design of the formation for a system with many agents moving in space can be then transformed into that of the twelve system variables. The objective function in the optimal design for collision avoidance and destination approaching can be represented by the system variables and the initial configuration f the system.The optimal formation of our system are allowed to translate, rotate, stretch, and shear.     Study on Mooring and Anchoring System for a Floating Kuroshio Turbine

    隨著海洋能源開發技術的發展,擁有黑潮資源的臺灣也已著手於相關技術研發。洋流發電機組之開發重點便是如何安全的將開發機組安裝於工作位置上,而臺灣海域地形底質多變,相關地質及力學特性調查資料亦尚未周全,此項挑戰將成為技術開發的一項關鍵,因此,建立合適的模擬分析工具並做好預期實際狀況的因應準備乃有其研究上的必要性。 本研究基於前述動機,利用海洋油氣開發領域相當成熟的軟體程式OrcaFlex來進行數值建模,模擬浮游式黑潮渦輪發電機組(Floating Kuroshio Turbine;FKT)於額定流速1.5m/s下,FKT機組利用浮力引擎控制沉降與上浮等一系列佈放回收及下沉以避長浪之動態行為,最後並利用模擬結果分析設計可行之錨繫系統裝置,建立適合FKT使用之錨碇塊,並配合計算流體力學(Computational Fluid Dynamics;CFD)軟體ANSYS-FLUENT進行錨繫系統相關流體動力係數計算。As the increasing demand for energy and the growing awareness of environmental sustainability, researchers are dedicated to developing innovative energy devices. Kuroshio Current is one of the potential marine energy that can be widely extended and applied in the future. However, the hydrographic features around Taiwan are unpredictable and the related geological surveys are also not well clear now. Hence, the investigation of how to set the ocean turbines on the operating location safely is the important key to promote technology development. To resolve the issue, it’s necessary to establish an appropriate simulation environment by the software to evaluate the operation procedures and the actual situation that may be encountered. This thesis is based on the motivation mentioned above. We use the OrcaFlex, a fairly mature software program on the field of marine oil and gas development, to do the numerical analysis about the Floating Kuroshio Turbine (FKT) under the rated flow 1.5m/s. By controlling the different income rate of seawater by buoyancy engines can make FKT to the target depth of location in order to work normally and reduce the impact of heavy swell. Last, we analyzed and designed available mooring and anchoring system according to the simulation results. Moreover, we use the Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software ANSYS-FLUENT to calculate the hydrodynamic coefficients of the anchor system to complete the series of design

    Inter-Core Process Communication Protocol for Heterogeneous Multi-Core SoCs

    在多核心架構的系統中,核心間行程通訊是個重要的議題,一個效率不好的通訊定設計將造成系統效能下降。本篇研究針對基於異質多核心單晶片系統平台的媒體串流應用,提出一個有效率的核心間行程通訊協定,此協定使用三個特殊計的機制,達成非同步及無緩衝的通訊,並藉由移除中斷機制及減少記憶體複的操作來提升效能。由傳輸不同資料量的實驗可得知,所提出的協定中的"傳"動作只需小量的常數時間,而"接收"動作亦優於傳統行程間通訊協定,且差隨著資料量越大而增加;而由H.264 編碼應用的模擬結果可知,相較於傳統行間通訊協定,所提出的協定使得效能有大約40%的提升。Inter-core communication is an important issue need to be addressed in multi-core architectures. An inefficient communication design will lead to performance degradation. In this thesis, we target on multimedia streaming application on heterogeneous multi-core SoCs and design an efficient inter-core process communication (ICPC) protocol. It is an asynchronous and un-buffer protocol which using three special designed mechanisms including ``Mail Sending'', ``Express Transmission'' and ``Double Output Buffer''. With these mechanisms, we enhance the performance by eliminating the need of using interrupt and reducing unnecessary memory copies. We evaluate the impact to the communication overhead for different size of data transmission. The results show that the ``send'' operation in our protocol only takes a small constant time. The ``receive'' operation also outperforms to traditional IPC and the gap will increase according to the size of data transmission. We also evaluate the ICPC performance by simulating a real world application, H.264 encoding.     Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

    The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

    “Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
