    Lowest electronic states of neutral and ionic LiN

    We have investigated the potential energy curves (PECs) of the LiN heteronuclear diatomic molecule, including its ionic species LiN+ and LiN−, using explicitly correlated multi-reference configuration interaction (MRCI-F12) calculations in conjunction with the correlation consistent quintuple- basis set. The effect of core–valence correlation, scalar relativistic effects, and the size of the basis sets has been investigated. A comprehensive set of spectroscopic constants determined based on the above-mentioned calculations are also reported for the lowest electronic states and all systems, including dissociation energies, harmonic and anharmonic vibrational frequencies, and rotational constants. Additional parameters, such as the dipole moments, equilibrium spin-orbit constants, excitation energies, and rovibrational energy levels, are also documented. We found that the three triplet states of LiN, namely, X 3∑−, A 3Π, and 2 3∑−, exhibit substantial potential wells in the PEC diagrams, while the quintet states are repulsive in nature. The ground state of the anion also shows a deep potential well in the vicinity of its equilibrium geometry. In contrast, the ground and excited states of the cation are very loosely bound. Charge transfer properties of each of these states are also analyzed to obtain an in-depth understanding of the interatomic interactions.     A Connectionist and Multivariate Approach to Science Maps: Som, Clustering and Mds Applied to Library & Information Science Research.

    The visualization of scientific field structures is a classic of scientometric studies. This paper presents a domain analysis of the library and information science discipline based on author co-citation analysis (ACA) and journal cocitation analysis (JCA). The techniques used for map construction are the self-organizing map (SOM) neural algorithm, Ward’s clustering method and multidimensional scaling (MDS). The results of this study are compared with similar research developed by Howard White and Katherine McCain [1]. The methodologies used allow us to confirm that the subject domains identified in this paper are, as well, present in our study for the corresponding period. The appearance of studies pertaining to library science reveals the relationship of this realm with information science. Especially significant is the presence of the management on the journal maps. From a methodological standpoint, meanwhile, we would agree with those authors who consider MDS, the SOM and clustering as complementary methods that provide representations of the same reality from different analytical points of view. Even so, the MDS representation is the one offering greater possibilities for the structural representation of the clusters in a set of variables

    Use of waste oil/styrene-butadiene-rubber blends as rejuvenators for aged bitumen

    This study elaborates the influence of blends formulated by waste oil (WO) and styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR) on thermo-mechanical and chemical compositional characteristics of rejuvenated bitumen. The results show that both WEO (waste engine oil) and WCO (waste cooking oil) can compensate viscous component for reclaimed bitumen, and the effect of WCO is more significant. However, WO-rejuvenated bitumen has considerable drawbacks in terms of temperature susceptibility and flow resistance, but dramatic improvement after being added with SBR has been noticed. Furthermore, the rejuvenation mechanism of WO/SBR blends is revealed by using FTIR tests, which shows that the physical blending mainly determines the rejuvenation mechanism when the WO/SBR blends are used in bitumen. The combination of WO and SBR is beneficial for improving the temperature susceptibility and rutting resistance of rejuvenated bitumen.Accepted Author ManuscriptPavement Engineerin

    Dynamic optimization of ship energy efficiency considering time-varying environmental factors

    Nowadays, optimization of ship energy efficiency attracts increasing attention in order to meet the requirement for energy conservation and emission reduction. Ship operation energy efficiency is significantly influenced by environmental factors such as wind speed and direction, water speed and depth. Owing to inherent time-variety and uncertainty associated with these various factors, it is very difficult to determine optimal sailing speeds accurately for different legs of the whole route using traditional static optimization methods, especially when the weather conditions change frequently over the length of a ship route. Therefore, in this paper, a novel dynamic optimization method adopting the model predictive control (MPC) strategy is proposed to optimize ship energy efficiency accounting for these time-varying environmental factors. Firstly, the dynamic optimization model of ship energy efficiency considering time-varying environmental factors and the nonlinear system model of ship energy efficiency are established. On this basis, the control algorithm and controller for the dynamic optimization of ship energy efficiency (DOSEE) are designed. Finally, a case study is carried out to demonstrate the validity of this optimization method. The results indicate that the optimal sailing speeds at different time steps could be determined through the dynamic optimization method.     The Operational Practices of Internationalized Design Curriculum

    Globalization has transformed the industry in our time and brought new realities to the job market. These paradigm shifts have fundamentally changed our higher education landscape. Over the past two decades, internationalization has become a priority for universities. Confronting the internationalization of higher education, how to offer appropriate internationalized curricula has become a crucial challenge. There have been few inquiries into the relationship between the internationalization of the curriculum and the academic disciplines, and the evidence regarding the discipline of design needs to be revised. In this paper, the author delineates a particular international design program operationalized according to the internationalized curriculum development framework to demonstrate the connection between the idea of implementation and the real world of performance. The author hopes that the reflection on the practice context can offer a solid basis for future work and provoke discussions about the relationship between the dominant and emerging paradigms within the design discipline

    Influence of SBS on the Aging Properties of High-Content Terminal Blend Rubber Modified Asphalt

    The goal of this study was to investigate the effect of styrene-butadiene-styrene (SBS) polymer on the aging properties of high-content terminal blend rubber modified asphalt (HCTBMA). All asphalt was tested for chemo-rheological properties using an attenuated total reflection-Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (ATR-FTIR) test, temperature sweep test, frequency sweep tests, and multiple stress creep recovery (MSCR) test. According to ATR-FTIR observations, SBS can retard the oxidation effect of HCTBMA during short-term aging, but its inhibitory effect is reduced during long-term aging. Furthermore, aging aggravates the degree of desulfurization of crumb rubber in HCTBMA as the SBS content increases. Compared with HCTBMA, neat asphalt has a lower elasticity at high temperatures and a higher elasticity at low temperatures. The addition of SBS to HCTBMA improves the elasticity of the material. The elasticity of HCTBMA decreases and then increases after aging, and SBS can reduce the aging degree of HCTBMA after aging.     Identifying Spreading Sources and Influential Nodes of Hot Events on Social Networks

    The rapid development of World Wide Web accelerates information spreading in various ways. Thanks to the emergence of multiple social platforms, some events which are not much attractive in the past can become social hot spots nowadays. In this paper, we study the information diffusion process of “IP MAN3 box office fraud”, which is widely diffused in the largest Chinese microblogging system, namely Sina Weibo, in March 2016. Based on the temporal metric we have proposed, we succeed in finding out the sources of the information, and constructing the panorama of the diffusion process. In addition, a portion of nodes that promote the diffusion are identified by using the node importance algorithms.
