Writing a Wikipedia Article on Cultural Competence in Health Care
This article describes how librarians created a Wikipedia article on cultural competence in health care to support the medical school’s curriculum. Wikipedia, often considered not as reliable as scholarly articles, continues to be popular. Rutgers librarians conducted a Wikipedia project to improve its content to benefit students. The importance of cultural competency in health care is widely recognized due to increasingly diverse patient populations. Medical schools integrate cultural competency in curricula to train students to be culturally competent. Therefore, this topic was chosen for the Wikipedia Project. It is hoped that health sciences librarians and educators will benefit from their experience

[[abstract]]The thesis deals with the ‘lian…dou/ye …’ construction in modern Chinese. In order to clarify the informational status of ‘lian…’, issues on topic and focus are shown in the first part of this thesis. Then, discussions on semantic functions and conversational implicatures of this construction constitute the sencond part. Lastly, the formal complexity and pedagogical instructions will be presented as well.

茭白筍可食用的筍莖是黑穗菌於菰菌中寄生所形成的菌攲瘦,此種黑穗菌為一種有益
的食用真菌,茭白筍為本省重要之夏季蔬菜。1981年林及張由解剖學進行茭白筍與非
感染株莖組織之比較觀察,發現茭白組織由於菰黑穗菌菌絲之侵入,將菌絲週圍之細
胞擠壓形成菌腔,由於細胞數目及大小的變化,及菌腔週圍之組織被誘導產生許多異
常形成層,因而認為有某種植物生長素,在此膨大過程直接或間接地參與作用;此外
1982年呂及張利用掃描電子顯微鏡觀察,此菌在茭白筍組織中增生情形,情形亦同。
基於解剖學的觀點,本論文乃著重於探討可以刺激細胞分裂的細胞分裂素,利用高效
液用色層分析儀及生物分析方法,檢定茭白筍中細胞分裂素的量及生物活性。結果發
現游離態的細胞分裂素量甚少或不存在,而鍵結的細胞分裂素其量感染植株較非感染
株高,並且這檢定出的細胞分裂素是具有生物活性的,同時在黑穗菌上亦有發現鍵結
態細胞分裂素

A parallel fictitious domain method for the interface-resolved simulation of particle-laden flows and its application to the turbulent channel flow
Publisher's PDFA parallel direct-forcing (DF) fictitious domain (FD) method for the simulation of particulate flows is
reported in this paper. The parallel computing strategies for the solution of flow fields and particularly
the distributed Lagrange multiplier are presented, and the high efficiency of the parallel code is
demonstrated. The new code is then applied to study the effects of particle density (or particle inertia)
on the turbulent channel flow. The results show that the large-scale vortices are weakened more
severely, and the flow friction drag increases first and then reduces, as particle inertia is increased.University of Delaware. Department of Mechanical Engineering
