Application of the circle beauty in the environmental design of Lin-gang Special Area of Shanghai
Dishui Lake, an artificially excavated circular lake, has become a landmark landform in the Lin gang Special Area of Shanghai. It contains the green ecological concept of the harmony between human and nature at the beginning of the design, and establishes a relatively perfect lighthouse coordinate for the grand blueprint of the Lin-gang Special Area. This paper takes the application of circle in environmental design as the breakthrough point, and uses the similarities of Qinglong Town site for reference, and expounds the application of the beauty of circle in environmental design to show the concept of green ecology, so as to provide an accurate connection between sea and land for the excellent cultural inheritance of the Chinese nation
Extradiol oxidative cleavage of catechols by ferrous and ferric complexes of 1,4,7-triazacyclononane: Insight into the mechanism of the extradiol catechol dioxygenases
The major oxygenation product of catechol by dioxygen in the presence of FeCl2 or FeCl3, 1,4,7-triazacyclononane (TACN), and pyridine in methanol is the extradiol cleavage product 2-hydroxymuconic semi-aldehyde methyl ester (Lin, G.; Reid, G.; Bugg, T. D. I-I. J. Chem. Sec. Chem. Commun. 2000, 1119-1120). Under these conditions, extradiol cleavage of a range of 3- and 4-substituted catechols with electron-donating substituents is observed. The reaction shows a preference in selectivity and rate for iron(II) rather than iron(III) for the extradiol cleavage, which parallels the selectivity of the extradiol dioxygenase family. The reaction also shows a high selectivity for the macrocyclic ligand, TACN, over a range of other nitrogen-and oxygen-containing macrocycles. Reaction of anaerobically prepared iron-TACN complexes with dioxygen gave the same product as monitored by UV/vis spectroscopy. KO2 is able to oxidize catechols with both electron-donating and electron-withdrawing substituents, implying a different mechanism for extradiol. cleavage. Saturation kinetics were observed for catechols, which fit the Michaelis-Menten equation to give k(cat)(app) = 4.8 x 10(-3) s(-1) for 3-(2' ,3'-dihydroxyphenyl)propionic acid. The reaction was also found to proceed using monosodium catecholate in the absence of pyridine, but with different product ratios, giving insight into the acid/base chemistry of extradiol cleavage. In particular, extradiol cleavage in the presence of iron(II) shows a requirement for a proton donor, implying a role for an acidic group in the extradiol dioxygenase active site
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Spatiotemporal Evolution Analysis of Habitat Quality under High-Speed Urbanization: A Case Study of Urban Core Area of China Lin-Gang Free Trade Zone (2002–2019)
This paper, examining the Pilot Free Trade Zone Lin-Gang Special Area in China (Shanghai), identifies the relationship between urban expansion and habitat change and analyzes the influence mechanism of habitat quality (HQ) on spatiotemporal distribution. The results show the following: (1) From 2002 to 2019, the HQ in the study area decreased significantly, and the spatial differences gradually expanded over time. The HQ was low in the southwest and high in the northeast, and low-level habitats gradually moved to the southwest. This spatiotemporal evolutionary law was consistent with the local government’s 2003–2020 plans, which are composed of the joint development of a logistics park in the north, the Lin-Gang industrial zone in the west, and Shanghai port in the south. (2) Due to the interspersed distribution of high and low habitats caused by urban development and expansion, Moran’s index in spatial autocorrelation decreased over time, which means the spatial agglomeration of HQ decreased and that homogeneity increased. (3) The spatial distribution of HQ was quantified by landscape analysis. The results showed that the fragmentation degree in high-level habitat areas increased with time, while the middle-level habitat areas first increased and then decreased, and the low-level habitat areas displayed the opposite change in trend to that of the middle habitat
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Research on Regional low-carbon development path based on LEAP model: Taking the Lin-gang Special Area as an example
Based on the economic and social development, as well as the resource factor endowment in the Lin-gang Special Area, the LEAP model is employed as the research tool to analyze the energy consumption and carbon emissions from 2021 to 2060 under different scenarios. The results show that under the baseline scenario, the carbon emission in the special area basically enters the platform period after 2035; Under the low-carbon scenario, the carbon peak can be achieved in 2035, but the subsequent decline is relatively slow; Under the enhanced low-carbon scenario, the special area can reach the peak synchronously with the national goal in 2030 and basically achieve carbon neutrality in 2060. In addition, the contribution analysis of emission reduction for different policy measures shows that the contribution of clean energy substitution is the largest, followed by energy efficiency improvement and electrification
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts
We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more
