DC/AC/DC chopping converter
The purpose of this Final Year report is to provide a clearer overview to the student’s FYP Professor, Assoc Prof Luo Fang Lin of the knowledge and experiences the student has accumulated and how he has applied the theory he has learnt from his undergraduate course to meet the objective of the project. In this project, the student is required to design and build a DC-AC-DC chopping converter with a feedback controller to ensure that a constant output voltage of 33VDC despite fluctuations of input voltage (9.3VDC to 11.5VDC).Bachelor of Engineerin
Advanced DC/DC converters
DC/DC conversion techniques have undergone rapid development in recent decades. With the pioneering work of authors Fang Lin Luo and Hong Ye, DC/DC converters have now been sorted into their six generations, and by a rough count, over 800 different topologies currently exist, with more being developed each year. Advanced DC/DC Converters, Second Edition offers a concise, practical presentation of DC/DC converters, summarizes the spectrum of conversion technologies, and presents new ideas and more than 200 new topologies. Beginning with background material on DC/DC conversion, the book later discusses both voltage lift and super-lift converters. It then proceeds through each generation, including the groundbreaking sixth generation―converters developed by the authors that can be cascaded for high voltage transfer gain. This new edition updates every chapter and offers three new chapters. The introduction of the super-lift technique is an outstanding achievement in DC/DC conversion technology, and the ultra-lift technique and hybrid split-capacitor/inductor applied in Super-Lift Luo-Converters are introduced in Chapters 7 and 8. In Chapter 9, the authors have theoretically defined a new concept, Energy Factor (EF), researched the relations between EF and the mathematical modelling for power DC/DC converters, and demonstrated the modeling method for two converters. More than 320 figures, 60 tables, and 500 formulae allow the reader to more easily grasp the overall structure of advanced DC/DC converters, provide fast access to precise data, and help them to quickly determine the values of their own circuit components

Abstract
Nearly six percent of deaf children were born of deaf parents (Dc/Dp). They faced with challenges in many ways in the spoken language society. In order to know the role of Taiwan Sign Language (TSL) in the learning life of a Deaf children of Deaf parents, the qualitative research design was used to answer this question. According to the references and referral by deaf friends, I have connected with “Jiou-Wo” (Dc/Dp, the primal participant of this study) for more than twelve months. He was thirty years old and never yield to this deafness. His parents and two bothers were deaf. TSL was the only communication mode in his family. Through not only interviewing Jiou-Wo, his parents, teacher and classmate separately, but also analyzing the relevant documents, the main findings were as following: Growing up in the abundant TSL environment, Jiou-Wo superiorly identified himself with deaf community. He insisted that TSL is much more practical than Chinese Coded Sign Language or Spoken Language in getting into the knowledge world. TSL was very important for Jiou-Wo in his learning life. TSL facilitated his learning and let him become a high achiever. Jiou-Wo demonstrated very good writing ability. This fact revealed that using TSL wouldn’t impede Jiou-Wo’s writing ability. These results may have some implications for deciding communication mode for the Deaf...
Common Mode Currents in DC Power Routers
The grid reinforcement and energy redirection needs have led to the emergence of Back-To-Back Voltage Source Converter (BTB-VSC) based dc power routers. This paper investigates the low frequency Common Mode Currents (CMCs) that arise in the system if the employed BTB-VSCs have an un-isolated ac path connected in parallel to their output ports. Simulation results are presented to show a sensitivity analysis of lower order harmonics in CMC with respect to the operating active and reactive power of the dc router, dc link voltage, link resistance, modulation method and pole capacitance. Experimental results are shared to show existance of lower order CMC in 3-wire ac link operating in parallel with the dc power router and these are mitigated using zero sequence controller
Modeling, Control, and Operation of an M-DAB DC-DC Converter for Interconnection of HVDC Grids
Future high-voltage direct-current (HVDC) networks based on voltage source converters (VSCs) will have different structures (asymmetric monopolar, bipolar, or symmetric monopolar), voltage levels, control, and protection schemes. Therefore, dc-dc converters are needed to interconnect those VSC-HVDC grids and several technical issues on their control and operational systems must be adequately addressed. A dc-dc converter based on a modular-dual active bridge (M-DAB) converter is suggested to reach a desirable interconnection of the HVDC grids and regulate power flow (PF) between them. A dynamic averaged model is proposed for the M-DAB converter and its stability is analyzed using the Lyapunov function. Moreover, a new local controller based on nonlinear control theory is proposed for the M-DAB. The new M-DAB local controller is integrated with the energy management system (EMS), by updating the PF equations, to create a complete control structure. Considering the CIGRE DCS3 HVDC test system and the studied M-DAB, static, dynamic simulation, and experimental studies are conducted and the dc-dc converter and the performance of the designed controllers and the EMS are examined and validated.Green Open Access added to TU Delft Institutional Repository 'You share, we take care!' - Taverne project https://www.openaccess.nl/en/you-share-we-take-care Otherwise as indicated in the copyright section: the publisher is the copyright holder of this work and the author uses the Dutch legislation to make this work public.Intelligent Electrical Power Grid
